They're the ones who build capacity while building the business.

Pausing before reactive decisions.

I've coached 100+ CEOs. There's one conversation they're all avoiding.

It's not with their board. Or their co-founder. Or their biggest client.

It's with themselves.

They've mastered every external conversation that matters. Board updates, investor pitches, team alignment. They can articulate vision, defend strategy, inspire action.

But ask them what they actually want?

Silence.

Not what the business needs. Not what will scale fastest. Not what fits the founder playbook they've been following.

What genuinely brings them alive.

They've become optimization machines for everyone else's agenda. Reading rooms, meeting expectations, hitting targets. They're excellent at it.

But they've lost the ability to read themselves.

The avoidance isn't accidental.

They chase bigger metrics. Optimize for vanity milestones. Pivot constantly because nothing feels right. Work harder hoping the fulfillment will eventually come.

Meanwhile, they help their teams get clear on goals and values.

The irony is crushing.

When was the last time you asked yourself: "What do I actually want from this life I'm building?"

That conversation you're avoiding?

It's the only one that matters.
