Was it worth it to quit your CFO role and start over?

That’s the question I get most often.

Here’s the truth:
I didn’t quit to “become an entrepreneur.”
I didn’t even think it was possible,
especially not in an expensive city like Dubai.

But I couldn’t look at my life anymore and see so much…
emptiness.

No joy.
No laughter.
No gratitude.

And I thought:
“This can’t be me.

The crazy thing is that 99% of the people I knew felt the same way.
Exhausted.

For year I believed that my french accent would stopped me from starting my own business.

Sounds ridiculous, right?
But every ambitious person has their version of it.

→ “It’s not the right time.”
→ “I need to be more prepared.”
→ “I can’t risk what I’ve built.”

Different words.
Same prison.

Take my recent client Nadia.
A senior leader managing multimillion-dollar operations in a big 4.

Smart. 
Reliable. 
The one everyone depends on.

But she kept being overlooked.
The title she’d earned was always “under review.”
The big decisions still went to someone else.

And she told herself:
→ “It’s the company culture.”
→ “They’ll notice eventually.”
→ “I don’t want to sound entitled.”

But nothing changed until her belief did.

The moment she decided she deserved more, everything shifted.

Her voice changed.
The respect followed.
And the recognition came — not because she worked harder, but because she stopped shrinking.

Here’s the truth:
You’re not limited by your environment.
You’re limited by the stories you keep believing.

Your next level won’t come from a new plan.
It’ll come from finally believing you can change it.

Because the emptiness,

the sadness despite achievement… 
They’re not random.
They’re signs you’ve stopped listening to yourself.

Until one day, you lose everything.
Your energy. 
Your joy. 
Even the quality of your work.

Re-creating meaning doesn’t require a life overhaul. 
It starts by adding more life to your life.

Do things that actually matter to you — not to society. 
Go on a solo weekend. 
Take a dance class. 
Sleep all day if you need to.

Simple things matter. 
And they’re often the unlock to your next level.

Every company focuses on improving the team.

For years I sat in unhappiness.

I hated happy people.
The calm ones. 
The positive ones.

I thought they were fake. 
The “Happiness is a choice” sounded like bullshit.

Truth is - It's not.

If you’re ambitious and driven, 
negative thinking is the biggest leak in your performance. 
It wastes so much of your time.
It kills momentum. 
It drains focus. 
It turns intelligence into overthinking.

I've lived it.
And I see it every singe day in Senior leadership

You don’t need more strategy. 
You need more self-command.

Here’s how to act fast: 
1️⃣ Understand the thought. 
2️⃣ Find the gift. 
3️⃣ Take immediate action.

Suppressing negative thoughts doesn’t work. 
Being positive at all costs doesn’t work. 
Understanding and managing them — that’s what works.

That’s how my clients get clear on what they want, 
and move toward it every single time.

There’s one reason why you’re suffering.

It’s not burnout.
It’s not pressure.

It’s because there’s a gap between what you say you want — and how you actually live.

That’s why you can’t make up your mind.
That’s why you keep explaining your choices instead of owning them.
And every time you give a “reason” for not doing it,
you chip away at your own self-respect.

On paper, it looks fine.
You sound logical. 
Strategic. 
Responsible.

But deep down, you know :
it’s not the way you want to live.

And the worst part?
You have the ability to change it.
That’s what makes it hurt even more.

So no — it’s not a competence problem.
It’s not a knowledge problem.
It’s a mindset problem.

Once you rebuild the alignment between what you say and what you do,
you stop suffering.

And you start leading again.

P.S. What’s one area of your life that doesn’t match what you say you want?

Stop taking advice from people you wouldn’t trade lives with.

Your mom tells you to “be patient.”
Your wife says “maybe now’s not the time.”
Your friend who works 24/7 with no life says “play it safe.”

And somehow… you listen.

You’d never swap places with them.
You wouldn’t trade their career, their relationships, or their mindset.
Yet you let their opinions decide how far you go.

Here’s my rule:

1️⃣ Don’t take advice—seek perspective.
-> Surround yourself with people who ask sharp questions instead of giving soft opinions.

2️⃣ Get feedback only from those who’ve done what you want to do.
-> If they haven’t walked through fire, they can’t guide you through it.

3️⃣ Stop looking for the easy way.
-> Growth doesn’t come from comfort; it comes from clarity and courage.

Your next level won’t come from more advice.
It’ll come from trusting your own direction.

Some days, I still feel that deep sadness inside me.

It’s been there for years,
sometimes quiet, sometimes heavy.

3️⃣ Act fast.

Leadership isn’t about knowing the answers,
it’s about having the capacity to find them.
