If it's easier for you to build a career than a fulfilled personal life, Welcome to the Team! You built a great, successful career that you are proud of. You worked hard to be where you are, and you are confident that you can achieve more. You are excited by new challenges, and you are willing to learn more and grow. It's easy for you to talk about work and help people when they need it. You know how to get things done. But when it comes to your personal life, it's quite the opposite. It's like having two identities: one confident and one doubting. It's difficult to create meaningful relationships, despite how much you want to belong. It's more exciting to stay at home and work than to take time for yourself or meet people. You lead at work but can be judgmental toward friends and others. You don't find deep enjoyment in what you do, except for new work challenges. You feel lonely and like no one understands you. Except me! As former head of finance, I was always excited to build a career and grow. I lived in five different countries, loved developing businesses, and was constantly working. It wasn't a problem for me. Except on quiet nights or weekends. Those alone moments where I thought, "Is that all? Am I not supposed to have meaningful friends? or to feel something more deep, to be more inspired?" I judged everyone who wasn't successful in their career. I didn't want to meet new people, as I often found myself better than others and ended up giving advice more than listening. But also was sad and unhappy; I thought I wasn't good enough in many areas and that people definitely wouldn't want to spend time with me. I wanted to have one true friend who understood me and with whom I could spend time instead of working. I wanted to feel joy again and be happy for others. I wanted to feel alive again. So here is what I did : 1: I started asking myself the right question about what do I really want, not what looks good on paper. 2: I invested in the future I wanted. Having some skin in the game was my biggest motivator, nothing lights a fire under your bottom like a $10k investment. 3: I changed my lifestyle and changed the way I was living. I stopped judging everyone including myself and take more time for what matters to ME. Today I help High performers with crap personal life to find back a sense of purpose, create more meaningful relationships and live with joy through coaching programs and the R&H Club. You can always reach out to me on Linkedin or book a call
