I'm not gonna lie and say that having a big following doens't help - it does.

But it's not a prerequisite to generate leads from LinkedIn.

You need to:

1 - Solve a specific problem, to a specific audience and have proof that you can deliver results;

2 - Talk about it through your content, Monday to Friday, at the same time (if you don't know how to write content, DM me - I have something for you);

3 - Connect to 200 people that fit within your ICP criteria every week.

4 - After you've connected, offer them a valuable resource that promises a transformation - but don't be salesy.

Do this for 3 months, and if you get 0 inbound leads, I'll change my surname.

No amount of great storytelling will make up for your lack of results.

Let me break down how this concept truly applies to B2B.

We've been told that storytelling is the key to selling anything online nowadays.

Although that statement carries some truth; this is a nuanced topic.

Storytelling should be a vehicle you use to show people what you and your business can do, i.e - results.

The problems I see, especially as LinkedIn rises in popularity, is:

1 - "Entrepreneurs" who have never built anything and have nothing of value to talk about, so they hide behind personal anecdotes to have "interesting" posts.

2 - Entrepreneurs who have in fact built something, but are unknown on LinkedIn, but have the idea in their head that people should listen to them.

The solution to both of these problems is:

Build trust.

For the ones who haven't built anything - build first.

Collect case studies, get great results for clients, and showcase your expertise through creative storytelling.

For the ones who have built something - showcase it through storytelling.

And at the end of the day, on LinkedIn, your daily routine doesn't matter, the countries you've been to don't matter, your social/political views don't matter.

Stay away from that shit.

Telling stories for the sake of it is for English class.

Use storytelling as an instrument to showcase your results.
