A few days ago I crossed 5k connections.

And no, it's not like I thought it would be. 😉

Here are 7 lessons I've learned:

1. It takes time, and effort - like everything. 
   
   If you don't put your hands on and do the work, nothing will happen.
   
2. Be you. 
   
   You can fake it - for a while. 
   
   But this is a long-term commitment.
   
   Can you fake it for the long term, or is it better just to be yourself?
   
3. You can watch what big, I mean reeeally big accounts are doing. 
   
   But don't follow their suggestions blindly, or even copy them. 
   
   If their whole post is "shit stinks", they will still get a ton of engagement. 
   
   If you're starting and you put out really great content, you'll get... crickets, more or less.
   
4. Nothing will happen overnight. 
   
   Don't expect anything for at least 6 months. 
   
   But brick by brick—Rome wasn't built in a week, but they laid bricks every single day.
   
5. If you miss a day, a week, it's life, man. 
   
   We all have crazy days. 
   
   But don't make skipping a habit. 
   
   That's all.
   
6. Support others. 
   
   But don't jump all in on bigger accounts. 
   
   Yes, they have big engagement, but your comment needs to be reeeeeeally good to stand out. 
   
   On the other hand you will almost never get support from these big accounts.
   
   It's better to support those similar to you. 
   
   They will appreciate your support and will share this love with you as well.
   
7. Don't overthink, you know more than you think you do. 
   
   If you're not sure, just click publish and say f*ck it, what will be will be. 
   
   I know you can't believe it, but nothing bad will happen—never.

When I was starting a year ago, I said, when I will have 5k connections, I'll be a badass. 

But am I really now? 

Not really. 😉

I still need to do the same steps over and over again. 

Over time you can definitely fine-tune your tasks and speed up the everyday process.

And I met a lot of great people that I wouldn't have met without LinkedIn activation.

Why? - I bet you can't answer this.

Understand that knowing your "Why" isn’t:

❌ Just a motivational speech topic.
❌ Just a trendy buzzword.
❌ Only about the top management's vision.
❌ Limited to personal development seminars.
❌ Only useful for big life decisions.

But, it is:

✅ The foundation of your personal mission statement.
✅ Essential for identifying what truly motivates you and why.
✅ A tool for deeper self-awareness and personal growth.
✅ Vital for building authentic and meaningful relationships.
✅ A guide for making choices that truly satisfy your inner goals.

The power of simple "Why". 

Begin by asking yourself, "Why are you doing what you're doing?" 

Then, challenge this by asking, "Why is this important to me?" 

Dive deeper with each response you provide.

"Why?"

Yes, just like 5 year old. 

Persist through this questioning at least five times. 

Each layer of "Why" helps peel back the layers of surface motivations to reveal your core purpose.

Your deepest, hidden "Why." 

It's about discovering what drives you at your very core.

This is not my theory, it's Simon Sinek's. 

But it helped me a lot in my hardest times.

Yesterday was 27°C, perfect for a ride on my new bike.

How they let haters to destroy their reputation. 

(true story)

I was chatting with my new client, learning their story to craft a better marketing strategy.

Here is their true story:

"We intentionally stayed away from social media, thinking it wasn't suitable for a manufacturer like us.

But on the other hand, our haters were using social media to bad-mouth us. 

They were really putting us down.

And we weren't there to share our side of the story.

They did us a lot of damage."

Don't make the same mistake.

Every business is part of the community.

Every business should communicate their purpose. 

Be there, they need to know you.

Especially if "story" is polarized. 

• share your story,
• communicate with the community,
• tell people what and how you're doing,
• show the challenges, the victories,
• celebrate your milestones,
• don't stop here.

The harsh truth about "must-have" connections.

(the truth: it's just your choice)

We're all social creatures, we can't live isolated from others. 

Anyway, some need more social interactions, others less.

But we all can choose with whom we will hang out.

Even if you think certain people are must-haves in your life.

That's simple a lie. 

We need to remove all toxic people from our everyday lives.

If someone doesn't have a good influence on us, or even harms us, then it's time to remove this person from our life.

If someone was your best friend in kindergarten, it doesn't mean we are obligated to hang with him in our 30s or 40s.

If a family member makes you sick, it's time to cut ties.

Yes, even if this is your closest family.

Some people know what I'm talking about.

Be surrounded by like-minded people.

With the people you want to become.

With the people who empower you.

We need to grow, and no one in this world has the right to drag you down.

Burnout, as we know, is B.S.

(and what have we missed?)

By definition, burnout is "a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed."

Working hard and facing stressful situations are normal for entrepreneurs.

This is our lifestyle.

I have worked like this for more than 20 years.

But in 2021, I crashed.

What happened? What was different back then?

Powerlessness, lack of impact, nothing changes.

It doesn't matter how hard you strain, the situation takes its own path.

Probably in a bad way.

And this is a perfect recipe for burnout:

🛑 Hard work + no impact.

Take one thing out of this equation and you'll be fine.

7 events I like to track on landing pages.

(and why)

Your landing page is more than just an online brochure.

It's your hardest-working salesperson, silently converting visitors into gold.

But tracking and reading metrics are irrelevant if you don't know why you're doing this.

Let's break down the events your page should fire and why.

𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 - 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 
This is the bottom line of your campaign's effectiveness. You got a lead - congrats!

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 
Helps you identify usability issues and enables running targeted remarketing campaigns. This audience is the hottest.

𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲: 
The more time spent on the page, the warmer the customer is—prime for remarketing.

𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: 
It's almost the same as time on the page. For a shorter landing page with a video, focus on time on the page is okay.

𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲: 
The more someone scrolls, the higher their interest in your offer should be.

𝗘𝘅𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁: 
This event can trigger a popup with a special offer, subscription, etc. You really need this email.

𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲: 
This metric is important for filtering out this audience from remarketing campaigns. However, if you have a one-pager, bounce rate becomes less relevant. Consider removing visitors who leave the page in 5 seconds or less.

But remember, there's no one-size-fits-all solution. 

Every business and customer journey is unique. 

Dive deep into yours to identify crucial checkpoints.

Regardless, your primary aim should be to secure that contact ASAP. 

Stay creative, continually test, and implement changes...

Exit pop-ups: Conversion lifesaver or user experience disruptor? Personally, I'm not a fan. But the numbers tell a different story 😉

How many Meta Pixels do you think are enough?

BTW, what is a Meta Pixel anyway?

First things first.

You need a Meta Pixel if you want to be serious about advertising on the Meta network.

Mainly talking about Facebook and Instagram.

The Pixel tracks user behavior on your page and sends this data to Meta Analytics.

With this, you know which ads and settings achieve the desired actions and which are burning money.

Without Pixel - have you ever seen a really drunk guy throwing darts?

By the way, you can find (or create) your Meta Pixel in the Meta Business Manager.

But how many Pixels do you really need?

Especially if you manage multiple websites.

My solution is straightforward.

As long as you have a similar audience, use the same Pixel.

It will gather more data for optimization, and cross-promotion will be easier.

However, if you're offering two very different services, then use two separate Pixels.

Here's another important tip.

You cannot transfer a Pixel from one Meta Business Manager to another.

If you think you might sell one part of the company, consider opening a separate Meta Business Manager for it.

It's simple - do not overcomplicate 😁

How I get up to 3x more from my Meta ad budget!

+ Huge benefit, just like that.

I'm not a big fan of CBO setting - Automatic campaign budget optimization.

I realize it picks its winner too quickly and still sticks to it even if performance drops.

Let's assume we're running a lead generation campaign.

For long-term success, I prefer using this method:

You should have multiple ad sets under one campaign.

- Define your good CPL (cost per lead) and your bad (but still profitable) CPL. 

Let's assume we point it at $5 and $8.

- Set 2 automation rules:

1. If CPL < 5 in the last 3 days - increase daily budget by 2%.

2. If CPL > 8 in the last 3 days, decrease the daily budget by 2%.

Run this automation once or twice (to be more aggressive) per day.

What did we do here?

Our ad budget fluctuates every single day from ad sets with bad performance to our best-performance ad sets.

Automatically but under control!

And what is the bonus?

If ads work well, we're increasing our budget every single day, but slowly.

Yes, we're growing.

Ever notice how "express checkout lanes" at the grocery store are where time goes to stand still? Yesterday, I aged a year in one.

"OMG, he bought a new car for $1k!"

(it's not what you think 😉)

Can you imagine this headline splashed across the news?

It sounds insane when we hear someone shelled out $1M on a car.

But let's flip the script for a moment.

Typically, these stories involve sports superstars.

Their salary? Roughly $1M per week.

Imagine this headline: 

"OMG, he bought a new car for his entire weekly paycheck!"

Not so crazy anymore, right? 😉

For the average US citizen, that's akin to spending $1K, based on income.

What's truly outrageous?

Buying a car that costs your weekly salary, even if it's a $1M vehicle.

Or spending the equivalent of 40 weeks' pay on a $40K car?

Crazy, right?

I'd argue "OMG, he bought a car for his entire weekly paycheck!" 

should really be "OMG, check out the beast he bought".

For them, it's not about the price at all. 

It's all about the uniqueness, rarity.

P.S.
In business too, seeing a situation from a different perspective can simplify what seemed complicated.
