Whiteoaks are the UK's leading B2B Tech PR Agency based in Hook. 

Within my role at Whiteoaks, I was:

Within my time at Boo, I ensured to:
• Maintain a clean and organised inventory of wedding dresses
• Curate window displays with dresses and accessories which was rotated seasonally 
• Anticipate bridal needs and provided them with high quality service 
• Uphold company standards and values to ensure customer satisfaction 
• Happily guide brides through the process of successfully finding their wedding style 
• Meticulously handle POS system transactions to ensure seamless cash flow

• Warmly greet new and returning customers and develop relationships resulting in loyalty 
• Happily fulfil customer orders including drinks, seasonal offerings and special dietary requests
• Provide friendly customer service all whilst remaining calm during high volume periods

Hi, I'm Ellie! 👋🏼 I'm a 23-year-old Social Community Executive at the personal branding agency, Kurogo.

My 9-5 (and a lot of my 5-9) is spent with my nose stuck in my laptop on social media. I help some of the worlds most exciting founders, CEOs and entrepreneurs build communities within their own personal brands. 

My 5-9 is spent improving myself and practicing self-love. I've just recently run my first half marathon, so have enjoyed picking back up at the gym and making my way through all of Colleen Hoover's books. 

But how did I get here? In 2021 I completed my Digital Marketing Apprenticeship. I was awarded Level 4 Award in Digital Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing and Level 3 Award in Principles of Coding from The Chartered Institute for IT.

6 months ago: I was out of a job after my role becoming redundant. I was unmotivated, unclear on my career's direction and feeling flat from unsuccessful interviews 

6 months later: I'm working for the world's best personal branding agency, helping turn founders and CEO's into some of LinkedIn's biggest thought-leaders 

If you had told me in August/September that I'd be where I am now, I wouldn't have believed you. 

There were moments where I just wanted to chuck it all and binge-watch Netflix forever. 

But now I'm doing a job that I love and working with clients that light me up. 

I used to roll my eyes at these sorts of posts on LinkedIn as in that moment, I struggled to believe that would ever be me, so if you're in that position now, trust me, I get it. 

But here's the thing: Those rejections, set backs or curve-balls are the universe's way of saying, 'look, I think there's something better out there for you.' 

Rejection is just a detour, not the end of the road.

The next best thing might be just around the corner.

I’ve been working in social media for just under 5 years.

Here are 5 things I’d tell someone at the start of their marketing career. 

👉🏼 Build your personal brand.
👉🏼 Never stop being open to learning.
👉🏼 Don’t let your age make you feel inferior.
👉🏼 Remember you don’t work in the first line. 
👉🏼 Don’t be afraid to try new things and get things wrong. 

Remember, your journey in marketing is completely unique to you. 

Stay authentic, be bold, and never underestimate the power of your own voice in shaping the future of the industry.
