Working with founders and business Leaders to craft powerful and authentic personal brands. Why? Because reputation matters. - 82% of customers trust a company when their senior management members are active on social media - Brand messages are shared 24x more on personal accounts compared to company accounts - Customers are willing to pay 13.5x more for elite industry experts Yet only 1% of LinkedIn's 700 million users share weekly content. Our mission at Kurogo is to solve that. Kurogo is derived from the Japanese ‘Kuroko’ referring to the black clad stagehands in traditional Japanese theatre. The convention of wearing black implying the invisibility of the wearer on stage. We are your Kurogo. Directing, driving and delivering your personal brand from the background. Giving you the spotlight to excel in what you do best.

WFH Tip 42: Schedule Slack messages at weird hours so people think you’re putting in extra time grinding. My favourites are Sunday mornings and 8:23pm on a Tuesday. Bonus points if you stagger multiple messages for additional realism.

'Just post’ is not great advice, cause you’ll end-up posting a load of crap. Here’s how to ideate a quality content plan in less than 30 minutes. (If you can’t be arsed reading now, save this and come back later) 1 - Write down your target audience’s demographics and list their top… - 30 pain points - 5 main goals/desires - 5 main fears about your services 2 - Set up your preferred content calendar - We use Notion but anything will do, as long as it isn’t a scrap of paper 3 - Plan out a reasonable volume of content and mark…. - 50% as ‘Awareness’ - 40% as ‘Consideration’ - 20% as ‘Conversion’ 4a - Plan out your ‘Awareness’ posts, these will focus on: - Empathising with audience pain points - Commenting on industry talking points - Telling your backstory (the bits that are relevant to your audience) - Giving ‘Behind-the-scenes’ insights to your work 4b - Plan out your ‘Consideration’ posts, these will focus on: - Addressing their misconceptions and fears about your service - Sharing resources/advice that address audience pain points - ‘How-to/how-we’ content - Service or product walkthroughs 4c - Plan out your ‘Conversion’ posts, these will focus on: - Showcasing how you can help potential clients achieve their goals - Client success stories, case studies and testimonials - Launch and promotional announcements - CTAs directing people to your website, call bookings, DMs etc. 5 - Like and save this post for future reference You’re now set to go away and write content, that gets you in front of your ICP. Hopefully getting them closes to engaging and ultimately buying from you. Will it be as good as us? No. Is it better than spending another 6-months doing fuck all. Absolutely. p.s. I can’t be arsed explaining how to grow on LinkedIn today. So here are 4 of the best resources from LinkedIn themselves: LinkedIn Creator Mini-site (https://lnkd.in/e2A6HANQ)  LinkedIn best practices and tips LinkedIn Pressroom (https://lnkd.in/ega7nd64)  Platform updates & reports LinkedIn Marketing Labs (https://lnkd.in/e7VHAyWP)  Short courses and workshops to grow on LinkedIn LinkedIn Learning (https://lnkd.in/eujkKe25) General skills and training courses Like and save this post to help me figure out if LinkedIn penalises links to its own sites.

Did you know you could make custom feeds on LinkedIn?? Apparently this isn’t that well known so here’s how… 1) Type a name into the LinkedIn search bar and click ‘See All Results’ 2) Click the ‘Posts’ button 3) Click the ‘From Member’ dropdown 4) Type the names of each person you want to see in your custom feed 5) Click show results 6) Sort by latest 7) Save or bookmark that URL 8) Like and save this post for future reference (please) Now whenever you visit that URL you’ll have a custom feed of all the latest posts from the accounts you’ve added. I do the same for our Kurogo team members and the main people I want to keep up with on here. If you’re in that list, congratulations. If you’re not well, don’t worry. Who gives a fuck what I think?

The hardest thing about marketing is there’s a 100 ways to skin a cat. And everyone on the internet is trying to convince you their way is the best way. It’s no wonder every year thousands of people step into this industry without a what’s right or wrong. All that really matters is… A) You keep learning B) You keep trying new ideas C) You do A and B with 100% conviction Everything else is just noise.

Can someone pinpoint when we went from bots being the biggest problem on social media, to the platforms actively encouraging bot behaviour? Any day now we’re going to have bot content, with bot likes and bot commenters. There’s a BIG difference between using AI to enhance and streamline the creative process. And pressing a button to generate and post an AI comment. it's bonkers stuff and it can't be productive. If I get a single whiff of a bot in my comments, you’re getting blocked.

The TikTok ban reminds me of my parents’ divorce. It’s been looming for a while, but they keep putting it off, and part of me wishes they would just get on with it. For the sake of half the industry (and my dopamine receptors) I do hope it doesn’t go ahead, or we at least stop hanging around in this weird limbo. p.s. my parents are now happily divorced.

I'm an employee but I've run two successful businesses. Both of which I launched during university. Business One: An ecom store selling homeware essentials to students. Business Two: A sustainable fashion brand promoting and donating to wildlife conservation projects. Both got a number of sales but ultimately were closed within the space of a year. So why do I say they were successful? Cause apparently you can spend years on LinkedIn calling yourself a successful entrepreneur before you’ve even sold a product, so I’m definitely going to take that label… Jokes aside, I call them successful because they ultimately served their purpose. Each one taught me how it feels: To put your own money where your mouth is To have to make every decision on your own To tell everyone you're launching something And tell everyone you’re closing it I’m 99% certain why each fell apart, but I’m incredibly grateful for the experience. It’s equal parts fun and equal parts suck. I got to deal with suppliers (who thought 18-year-old me was weirdo), run full multi-channel marketing campaigns, and design and build a brand from scratch. Maybe one day I’ll start something up again. But Jesus Christ am I enjoying being an employee.

You can delete your em dashes, but I’ll still know…

So you’re FINALLY going to nail your personal brand this quarter? Well save this if you don’t want to fuck it up again. Every week, we teach people how to position their brand, write content, build a network etc. But so often I see people fall short, not because of a lack of knowledge. But because they lack … - The right mindset - The right structure - The right goal setting - The right feedback loop So if it feels like you’ve got all the knowledge, but keep falling short, this might be what you need. Save this and get into the right mindset for Q2. Or just DM me and we’ll run it for you.

“Can you make me go viral?” Short answer is yes with an ‘if’, long answer is no with a ‘but’. Short answer: I can definitely make you go viral if…. - You don’t care what you talk about - You don’t care what others think about you - You only care about your social metrics. Long Answer: I’m not going to worry about you going viral but… - You will build a reputation that you care about - You will build real relationships and partnerships - You will see tangible financial returns from your socials The story of a brand/person going viral and it transforming their business is the 0.1%. EVEN then it only works for them BECAUSE they’ve been hammering the long answer beforehand. The reality of building your reputation is that, you stick to your guns, focus on what actually matters over the long-term and WHEN you strike gold (because it will happen) you’ll be in a position to take full advantage of it. But if you’re trying to skip straight for it, you’re going to lose it as quickly as you got it. Anyone who says they can make you go viral is probably right. But I promise you, you’re not going to like it.

If the team text me about work while they’re on annual leave, this is typically what they get in return. I’m paying you to take a day off. GO AWAY.
