A creative trained in the technical world, I began my marketing career as an SEO Specialist studying algorithms and driving up organic traffic. In short order, I worked my way up through several agency promotions to be an SEO content strategist. As the main point of contact, serving 10 to 15 SaaS companies at any given time, my interests expanded from algorithms and content to integrated content strategies, newsletters, CRO, and social (which is probably how you found my profile). This evolution of my career trajectory was a natural process as a result of 2 questions. 1. How do I offer consultative advice for marketing strategies and tactics that support the companies I work for beyond offering SEO services? 2. How do I become a Director of Content, a Growth Marketing Director, or a CMO one day? My solution: I moved horizontally into a Marketing Manager role where I can play an active part in paid, social, email, optimized content, case studies, partnership discussions, podcasting, branding and design decisions, and work cross-functionally with a sales teams.
