Hi 👋🏿 My name is David and I’m passionate about creating, scaling and investing in CPG brands that truly make an impact – these brands create products that elevate the everyday experiences and improve people’s lives globally. With over a decade of experience in CPG, entertainment and media, I’ve been lucky enough to work with global powerhouses like Viacom, Warner Music, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nike, Sony Pictures and more. Along the way, I’ve been recognised with some pretty humbling accolades – from being named one of the Top 100 African Business Leaders in the UK to making it onto Music Week's 30 Under 30 and Powerful Media’s Future Leader list. Whether it’s deal-making, building world-class teams, or mentoring creators and entrepreneurs, I’m all about turning ideas into reality and helping others find their version of success.

Here’s a simple Healthy Living Checklist. Nothing too fancy, just the things that help keep me on track: - Hydration – At least 2L of water a day - Movement – Whether it’s the gym, a walk, or stretching. - Sleep – 7-8 hours (or at least trying to!). - Nutrition – More whole foods, less processed stuff. - Mental Health – Taking breaks, journaling, or just checking in with myself. - Community – Staying connected with people who uplift me

The world loves to sell you the dream of overnight success. But the truth is overnight success is a myth. Beyoncé didn’t just wake up a global icon. Elon Musk didn’t trip and fall into billions. And Ed Sheeran? Before the sold-out stadiums and chart-toppers, man was sleeping on sofas, playing to half-empty rooms and doing free gigs just to get his name out there. Talent was never the reason he made it. Relentless graft smart moves and showing up even when no one cared that’s what made the difference. He didn’t sit around waiting for a record label to bless him. He built his own fanbase released his own music performed anywhere that would have him. By the time the world finally caught on he was already ten steps ahead. The lesson is simple. Raw talent on its own means nothing. Success isn’t about luck, it’s about showing up putting the work in and sticking it out long after everyone else has packed it in. That’s the real story.

Just like that, we’re staring down the last stretch of the first quarter. If you’re flying, keep going. Momentum is a beautiful thing. If you’re moving mad or feel a bit off track, it’s not the end of the world.  Realignment is part of the process. Every great business and every proper leader knows when to pause, step back and actually think before they keep charging forward. There’s no medal for running in the wrong direction. And listen I’ll be real.Stop trying to do all of this in your own strength! Seek God, ask Him for direction. Some of you are trying to build empires off vibes and stress alone. That’s not sustainable. Invite God into the plans and see how much lighter it gets. A quick reminder for anyone who needs it - You don’t need more time you need more clarity - If the plan’s not working it’s not a personal failure it just means it’s time to rethink - Progress isn’t about moving fast it’s about moving in the right direction. There’s still so much on the table this month. Don’t count yourself out. Let’s finish Q1 strong💪🏿

Let this challenge your perspective on ambition and the price of building something truly groundbreaking. I watched this episode of The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett featuring MrBeast , and the level of obsession, sacrifice, and relentless pursuit of excellence that built his empire was nothing short of eye-opening. It made me ask: What does it really take to be the best?  Is the cost of greatness truly worth it? If you're serious about success, watch the episode and decide for yourself. 🚨 The next slide is a masterclass that surely leads to your next level of greatness!

Let’s talk about what really separates businesses that fly from the ones that stay stuck spinning their wheels. Two entrepreneurs can start in the same industry with the same opportunities but one scales fast and the other’s still struggling years down the line. That’s not just down to luck and it’s definitely not just about funding. It’s about how you position yourself for growth and how you move when things get uncomfortable. The biggest differences? ✔️ Mindsets: The ones who scale expect obstacles, they don’t see them as a sign to stop they see them as part of the process. They don’t sit around waiting for perfect conditions they move anyway. ✔️Network: The right people will open doors that no amount of money can. Who’s in your corner matters more than you think. ✔️Execution: Ideas are cheap action isn’t. The ones who win move fast they test things out they adapt when needed and they stay consistent long after the excitement fades. ✔️Adaptability: Markets shift strategies stop working algorithms play games the businesses that win don’t complain they pivot and keep it moving. ✔️Funding: But not in the way most people think. It’s not just about how much you have it’s about knowing how to stretch it build partnerships and create so much value that money starts chasing you. Most businesses don’t fail because there’s no opportunity, they fail because they never figured out how to scale. If you’re stuck it’s rarely because you’ve got nothing to work with, it’s usually because you’re not making the most of what’s already in your hands.

You can grind 16-hour a day and still get nowhere. Why? Because effort without strategy is just glorified stress. Look at Ronaldo and Messi. Both talented, both relentless, but what sets them apart is how they move. Ronaldo invested in longevity. Messi adapted his game. They didn’t just work harder; they worked smarter. Success isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing what matters. • Impact over effort – Focus on what moves the needle. • Build systems – Automate, delegate, or cut the fluff. • Level up – Talent without strategy is just guessing. The game rewards those who move with purpose, not just those who grind.

Is This the Partnership That Will Revive Nike? The Nike x SKIMS collaboration is a strategic move that could help Nike regain cultural dominance. Why Does This Collab Matter? 1. Nike Needs a Cultural Reset – Nike is still a powerhouse, but the brand has faced challenges in staying at the center of cultural conversations. Partnering with Skims, a brand that has redefined inclusivity and influence, is a way to tap into a new, highly engaged audience. 2. Skims is Expanding Beyond Shapewear – Skims has already disrupted underwear and loungewear. Aligning with Nike helps it break into the performance space with a credibility boost, while Nike benefits from Skims’ cultural relevance and modern aesthetic. 3. Influence Over Endorsements – Traditionally, Nike has relied on athletes to drive brand credibility. This partnership leans on Kim Kardashian’s influence rather than pure performance metrics, signaling a shift in how Nike connects with consumers. Key Lessons for Entrepreneurs and Brands: ✅ Legacy brands must stay adaptable. Nike is 50+ years old but recognizes that staying relevant requires fresh partnerships. ✅ The best collabs feel natural, not forced. Both brands champion performance, aesthetics, and inclusivity—this just makes sense. ✅ Cultural capital is the new competitive edge. Consumers want brands that understand them. Nike choosing Skims over traditional performance brands speaks volumes. Is this the partnership Nike needed to stay on top?

Winning is one thing. Staying on top? That’s a different game. Lewis Hamilton not only dominated Formula 1, he turned his success into a $400M+ empire. From a kid in Stevenage to a 7x F1 world champion, he built a business portfolio beyond racing with strategic deals alongside Tommy Hilfiger, lululemon, and Mercedes-Benz AG. He co-founded Neat Burger | Italia, produces films, and even invests in the Denver Broncos Football Club—all while using his platform to reshape industries and drive real change. This isn’t just about speed. It’s about strategy. I broke down his journey and key lessons for celebrities, entrepreneurs, and anyone looking to scale their brands. "You can have money, fame, and influence but still feel lost without God. Kanye West once said, “I had money, but I was still empty until I surrendered to God.” King Solomon, the richest man in history, said in Ecclesiastes: "Everything is meaningless without God." Money is a tool, not the goal. True success is when wealth serves God’s purpose in your life.

Great speaking with Business Insider and the lovely host, June Angelides, MBE about SYPS and the journey so far. Navigating the world of business — especially as a Black entrepreneur — isn’t always easy. But having the support of organisations like UK Export Finance makes a real difference, helping us unlock new opportunities and scale with confidence.

No Goliath, No King If Goliath never came, would David have become king? We all want success, but few embrace the challenges that shape us. Every obstacle, every setback, every so-called failure is an opportunity in disguise. If there’s no problem, how can you be a problem solver? If there’s no adversity, how can you build resilience? Goliath wasn’t an obstacle; he was the doorway. Next time you face a challenge, don’t curse it—conquer it. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2-3

L’Oréal Let Go of Carol’s Daughter - Was It Inevitable? L’Oréal USA just handed back Carol’s Daughter to its original founder, Lisa Price and an named beauty entrepreneur. Some are calling it a full-circle moment. I see it as a wake-up call. For years, we’ve seen this play out: global beauty giants snap up indie brands, pump money into scaling them, but somewhere along the way, they lose the very essence that made the brand resonate in the first place. And now? We’re watching the pendulum swing back. Legacy brands, especially those rooted in culture and community are finding their way home. Why? Simple. Authenticity moves products. Founders who live the brand, who built it from their personal experiences and pain points, will always understand the customer better.

Play It Safe and Stay Stuck - Your Call. Here’s the truth, playing it safe won’t get you anywhere. It might keep you from failing, but it also guarantees you won’t win. I’ve learned this the hard way. When we were launching Nala’s Baby, people told us we were crazy to go up against legacy brands with deep pockets. No one thought a new baby care brand could take shelf space from the giants. But we believed in it. We knew parents deserved better, so we took the risk. We bet on ourselves. And now? We’re on shelves of major stores across the UK. Same with SYPS. Some people thought we were wasting time in a crowded space. But here’s the thing: crowded doesn’t mean closed. Every entrepreneur you respect, every brand you admire, every person who’s truly made it, they didn’t get there by playing it safe. Launching something new, pivoting when things weren’t working, betting on an idea that had no guarantees. That’s what separates the ones who grow from the ones who stay stuck. So this week, don’t just coast. Take the chance. Make the move! Start the thing you’ve been putting off. Say YES to the opportunity that excites and terrifies you in equal measure.

Your business isn’t just about making money, it’s a kingdom assignment. Many entrepreneurs rely on skills, networks, or funding, but the real foundation of lasting success is faith. Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. Look at Tyler Perry. He was once homeless, but his faith in God led him to build a billion-dollar empire. Chick-fil-A Restaurants refuses to open on Sundays, prioritising faith over profits, yet they outperform competitors. The principle is simple: When God is at the center, He multiplies what’s in your hands. Success built on faith isn’t just sustainable, it’s unstoppable.

This is bigger than football. This is ownership Tems has just made a serious power move. The Grammy-winning, Oscar-nominated artist is now an owner in San Diego FC, joining the Major League Soccer club’s ownership group as a Club Partner. What I love about this? Her influence is turning into equity. She’s not just lending her name to the club, she’s going to use her cultural currency to build San Diego FC into a global brand, extending its reach beyond the city and into places like Africa, where football runs deep. Through The Leading Vibe and in partnership with PAVE Investments, Tems is showing that success isn’t confined to one lane. She understands that real impact comes from being at the decision table, blending music, sport, and business to transform San Diego FC into a cultural movement.
