Picture this: Every guest interaction is a delightful experience, perfectly tailored and memorable. Your operations? Flawlessly smooth. And sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it's ingrained in every decision you make. From crafting personalized experiences for every guest to ramping up security measures, AI is in the background working for you. But here's the hard part —keeping up with the tech whirlwind isn't exactly a walk in the park. Staying ahead of the curve? It demands more than just chasing shiny new gadgets. It's about smart choices. Do your homework. Investing time and money in every flashy new piece of tech might not be the golden ticket. You need solutions that align with your property's specific needs, enhance both guest and employee experiences, and fit snugly into your existing tech stack. So, how do you make sure your property stays future-ready without drowning in the sea of innovation? Start by asking: "Does this genuinely solve a problem for us?" "Does it elevate the guest and employee experience? If the answer is yes, you're on the right track. Stay curious, be strategic, and keep the guest at the heart of it all. Ever heard of the Enchiridion? It's an ancient guide to living a better life. But it's not just about philosophy. It's a roadmap for both personal and professional growth. In our industry, where challenges are as dynamic as the guests we serve, a forward-focused mindset is crucial. Here's how I applied the lessons from this book when I was on property: Control: Focus on what you can control. → Guest satisfaction is often a top priority. By controlling our actions and reactions, we can ensure a consistently positive experience. Perspective: Change your perception. → Problems are inevitable. But by viewing them as opportunities to improve, you can transform challenges into stepping stones. Resilience: Strengthen your inner resolve. → When things don't go as planned, resilience helps us bounce back. It's about learning from setbacks and moving forward with renewed vigor. Purpose: Clarify your mission. → Knowing your purpose keeps you focused. It drives innovation and excellence. Professionally, these principles help: ↳ Improve decisionmaking. ↳ Enhance team collaboration. ↳ Increase overall efficiency. Personally, adopting these ideas can: ↳ Reduce stress. ↳ Foster a positive outlook. ↳ Encourage lifelong learning. The Enchiridion isn't just a book. It's a toolkit. For those looking to cultivate a more forward-focused mindset, why not give it a read? What's your go-to guide for personal or professional growth? Share below!

Nearly two-thirds of hotels are still facing a major staffing crisis. Despite throwing better pay and benefits into the mix, the struggle to fill key roles like housekeeping and front desk continues. 🏨 We’ve seen progress, but we're not out of the woods yet. The American Hotel & Lodging Association is tirelessly pushing for policies and initiatives to tackle these workforce challenges head-on. But here’s the thing—numbers and policies alone won't get us there. What really matters is showing people they have a future here, and that they can make a real impact. When I was starting out, someone took a chance on me. They mentored me and pushed me beyond my limits, and that’s when I fell in love with the industry. All it took was a bit of time and a lot of patience from my senior leadership. Investing in your people is critical to long-term success. Let’s build a culture of growth and mentorship, where future leaders see themselves thriving. So, here’s a question for you: Are you ready to be the mentor that makes someone fall in love with this industry? Let’s talk about how we can make that happen. https://lnkd.in/gCEPAuj5 #HospitalityIndustry #WorkforceDevelopment #CareerGrowth #AH&LA #Hotels #TalentShortage
🌟🤖 The world's first fully AI-powered hotel, The Otonomus, is set to open in Las Vegas in 2025, thanks to Growth Holdings. This leap in hotel technology promises personalized experiences like never before. But do we risk losing the human touch of hospitality? Im curious to see how this performs in practice! What do you think of it?
The industry is changing, and this recent article explains what’s old, what’s new, and what’s coming. Sustainability is now a non-negotiable standard, while workforce empowerment is taking a back seat. Interest rate fluctuations are influencing development, and tech, social media, unique culinary adventures, and subscription-based travel are becoming demand generators. Regenerative hospitality and meaningful human connections are becoming the new focal points for success in the industry. To stay ahead, businesses must adapt to these trends, all the while keeping a keen eye on delivering personalized service. Easy, right? 😅 Exciting times ahead! https://lnkd.in/g6c8pBew #HospitalityIndustry #Trends2025 #BusinessTransformation
I've seen it time and again: the most successful hotel managers are the most adaptable. They're the ones who view change not as a threat but as a chance to innovate. In an industry where the only constant is change, sticking to the mantra 'we've always done it this way' is a surefire way to fall behind. Instead of clinging to outdated methods, they dive headfirst into new technologies and strategies. They encourage their team to think outside the box. They listen to their ideas, no matter how unconventional they seem, and empower them to put those ideas into action. These are the folks who are THRIVING, setting new benchmarks for efficiency and guest satisfaction. This doesn't seem like a skill, but more of a mindset. It's about being open to learning, growing, and evolving. It's about being willing to take risks and try new things. So, the next time you're faced with a challenge, ask yourself: 'How can I adapt and turn this into an opportunity?'
Ever stopped to think about the unsung heroes of hospitality? Yesterday was National Hospitality Workers Appreciation Day, and it got me fired up about just how phenomenal our teams truly are. The hospitality industry is no stroll through a sunlit meadow, but man, is it rewarding! It’s the people who bring every bit of magic to life! Every warm welcome at the front desk, every bed that looks like it was made by a perfectionist with a ruler? Pure teamwork in action. These folks tackle challenges with the elegance of a ballet dancer and the tenacity of a prizefighter, and it's absolutely awe-inspiring. But let's get to the heart of it. Why do they do it? Simple. They care with their whole hearts. Gratitude shouldn’t be a yearly token gesture. It should be a daily anthem. The industry might be tough, but the amazing people who keep it running are even tougher. They deserve not just our thanks, but our love and respect for their incredible contributions. So, I’m curious — how did you celebrate your rockstar team yesterday? How do you show appreciation to the legends keeping the hospitality magic alive, day in and day out? Drop your stories below! Let’s lift up these extraordinary individuals who make the industry truly shine! 🌟
Celebrating the ones who make the magic happen! 🪄 We see you and we see the positive impact you have on every guest. Thank you!

I had a GM tell me something that has stayed with me since 2017 & I still think about it every day. She said: Whatever you touch, try to put it down a little better than it was when you found it. We were inspecting rooms when she said this, but those words hit home throughout my professional and personal life in profound ways. In the hospitality industry, we often focus on numbers—occupancy rates, revenue per available room, and labor costs. But what about the human element? This simple philosophy can transform how we interact with our teams and guests: → When you communicate with your staff, aim to inspire and support them. ↳ It’s about creating an environment where they feel valued and empowered. → Each guest interaction is a chance to make a lasting impression. ↳ Listen to their stories, understand their needs, and ensure their stay is memorable. These interactions are not just transactions. They are opportunities to create stories and experiences that people will remember. And it doesn't stop at work. This mindset can be applied to your personal life as well. Think about your friendships and family relationships. How can you leave these interactions a little better? It’s a simple yet powerful approach. Leave things better than you found them. It’s a mantra that can lead to meaningful change. Have you had a moment or piece of advice that shaped your approach to work or life? I'd love to hear your story.
Where's the heart of hospitality if we're losing our people? Staff shortages and high turnover are alarm bells we can’t ignore. Have we lost sight of building up the confidence and excitement in our teams? Ask yourself: when did you last mentor someone and ignite their potential? People development isn’t just a buzzword; it's absolutely critical to longterm success. Without investing in our teams, we stall. Don’t forget the mentors who took you under their wing and patiently taught you along the way. It’s your turn to step into the role. #HospitalityLeadership #EmployeeRetention #TeamDevelopment #MentorshipCulture #IndustryChallenges
