It's true what they say: LinkedIn is full of cringe.

Today I want to call out one category in particular: ego-driven shaming.

I see it regularly on LinkedIn—posts from people with oversized egos and zero empathy, trying to build their brand by tearing others down. Three common flavors:

1️⃣ The “you didn’t buy my program, so you’re a loser” post.
This one makes me sick. The manipulative messaging goes: If you didn’t invest in me, it proves you’ll never succeed. Disgusting.

2️⃣ The “look at my money” post.
It’s always the same: laptop + palm tree + caption like “Six months ago I was fired and homeless, and now I make $100K a month. Want to know more?” Instant cringe.

3️⃣ The “it’s not me, it’s you” post.
A client asks for a refund or complains about a service—and instead of reflection or accountability, the creator posts: “Haters gonna hate. I only attract love, and if you didn’t succeed, you’re the problem.” This is not leadership, it’s deflection.

👉 LinkedIn doesn’t need more cringe. We don’t need manipulation and self-serving posts disguised as motivation. That's toxic positivity at its finest.

I don't want to be the best. I just want to be good.

Everywhere I look, I hear the same message:
Live your best life. 10x your productivity. Do more. Earn more.

But what if you don’t want that?
What if you don’t want to be the “best”?

Here’s what I want instead:

- To clock out at 4:00 and pick up my kid from school.
- To cook dinner and actually enjoy it.
- To exercise in the middle of the day.
- To ski on weekdays when the mountain is quiet.
- To book last-minute trips without asking anyone’s permission and picking off-season days.
-To choose projects I find meaningful and say no to the rest.
- To do creative work on my own terms, when and where I want to, without watering it down for someone else’s agenda.

I’m not willing to trade ALL my time for money.

In fact, I cap my clients annually so I can deliver high-quality work without operating like a sweatshop.

Lead gen? No thank you.

My true wealth is my health, my relationships, and my freedom.

So do I feel jealous of people who are always chasing the next dollar, the next title, the next “more”?

No. I feel sorry for them. Because when money is your master, you’re not free; you’re a slave.

I don’t want to compete with anyone.

Life is too short to spend it one-upping strangers or climbing ladders you never asked to be on.

At my age, I recognize what is truly valuable in life.

And I work hard and deliver results so I don't think my business suffers in any way from my life philosophy.

It's time we stopped letting others' greed and status chasing define the definition of 'winning'.

Maybe “winning” just means doing a good job then getting home in time for dinner.

What about you? Are you feeling pressured to conform to one narrow definition of success?

I love winning.

But here’s the truth: failure is where the magic happens.

I used to walk into rooms, both in real life and virtual, full of successful people and I'd feel like a total imposter.

Everyone else had more wins, momentum, success than me.

I felt inferior, jealous, and most importantly, like I didn’t belong.

So what did I do? I left in search of finding "people like me" more on my level. 😢

But I know now: the room where I felt so in over my head was exactly the room I needed to be in.

I just needed to get over my own insecurities and start asking more questions, reverse-engineering, and most importantly: building relationships with those who are winning.

Today I know better so I follow this advice:

👉 Surround yourself with people who already have what you want.

It's tempting to join the "beginner's club" but you won't get served steak at the kiddie table.

Yes, it will feel intimidating AF.

Yes, you’ll feel like an imposter and the odd one out.

Yes, jealousy will come.

Good.

Swallow your pride, roll up your sleeves, and get to work.

Study them. 

Learn from them.

Stay in the room—even when it feels uncomfortable.

That’s how you catch up.
That’s how you win. 🏆

I don’t care how many hours you work and from where, what your résumé says, or how many calls you sit in. 

What I do care about:

	•	Did you move the needle this week?
	•	Can you show measurable progress?
	•	Are we advancing the bigger mission?

Everything else is noise.

No wonder I love cooking; it’s a lot like marketing.


	•	The ingredients: Just like you choose the freshest produce, in marketing you start with the right inputs: your audience, their preferences, their “allergies” (pain points), their "spice", and what they crave.

	•	The preparation: This is where skill shows. Two cooks can follow the same recipe and the results will taste totally different. Real pros improvise, season by instinct, and infuse love into every detail. Same with marketers: boilerplate templates are rampant, but artistry comes from experience knowing how to "season" your brand.

	•	The science: Too much salt ruins a dish, just like poor ad targeting ruins a campaign. Ratios matter. Timing matters. Mastery is equal parts art and science.

	•	The patience: Great dishes, like great strategies, take as long as they take. When done right, the result is unforgettable. People might forget who made the quiche, but they’ll never forget how good it tasted.

I am NOT a "fast food" marketer
promising "50 new leads" per week.

❌ The fastest way to kill a conversation, or make me ghost or unfriend you? Start with an assumption.


There’s an old saying: when you assume, you make an 🫏 out of me and you.

And on LinkedIn, I see alot of donkeys:

	1.	Assuming fractionals are always hunting for new clients. ➝ Being fractional is more work than being full-time because you juggle between various accounts. It is definitely not a role requiring constant lead gen or client-hunting.

	2.	Assuming everyone values lead gen above all else. ➝ Not true. I know many who don't have clients at all. Audience building, partnerships, passive income… there are dozens of ways to be a profitable business person without “door-to-door hustling.”

	3.	Assuming you can write “people like you” in a cold pitch. ➝ You don’t know me. You just met me. Respect that.

	4.	Assuming you know my goals.➝
“Want to learn AI or LinkedIn ?” Maybe I am   already pretty good at LinkedIn. Did you even check my profile first?

5. Assuming I need your help with my finances, accounting, taxes, marketing, sales, etc. ➝ Did it ever occur to you that an established business owner probably already has someone doing those things for YEARS? Ever thought of asking first instead of assuming I am doing nothing?


So what’s the remedy? Questions.

Not lazy, intrusive ones like “What are your business goals right now?” (you’re a stranger, it’s none of your business) or "How would you like 800 new leads per week, gauranteed?" (no thanks, scammer!)

Learn to ask thoughtful, respectful questions asked at the right time, to the right people.

Yes, it takes more work than assuming. But the payoff?

✨ Better conversations
✨ Better clients
✨ And far fewer people rolling their eyes at you
✨ Stop getting moved into my "donkey" folder (yes, I do have one and I keep screenshots so I can show others).


Stop assuming. Start respecting.
That’s how you win here.

My DMs are a circus.

On any given day, I get:

 👉 A stranger offering me “10x ROI in 30 days.”
 👉 Someone who calls me “Dear Sir.” (Ma’am here 👋)
 👉 A bot that thinks sending me 12 calendar links in one message is persuasive.

Delete. Delete. Delete.

And yet...DMs are still one of the best ways to book high-ticket clients.

The difference?

 Pitch-slapping strangers. Hard pass.

I get it. It stings to post and hear crickets.

But silence doesn’t mean nobody’s listening. (Think about YouTube: millions watch, few subscribe.)

Here’s the truth I’ve learned after years in marketing: platforms come and go, but systems win.

The creators and brands that rise above aren’t chasing the next shiny app. 

They’re investing in:

Consistency
On-brand, high-quality content
Commenting strategy
Real conversations in DMs
Systems for creating, publishing, and tracking content


Content without a system is noise.
Content with a system is influence.

A true content system:

Ties every piece to a business objective
 Builds a repurposable content library
 Creates consistency that compounds trust
 Provides data to guide decisions
 Makes you platform-independent

The most visible brands aren’t the ones with the biggest budgets.
 They’re the ones with the best systems.

So if your reach is down, don’t blame LinkedIn. Don’t jump ship to the next platform.

 Fix your systems.

Marketing isn’t a lottery ticket, love. It’s a 401k. The payoff is in the long game.

Do you really want more clients?


Or do you want:

Better clients.
Clients who pay nice rates.
Environments that aren’t toxic.
Projects you actually get excited about.
A portfolio you’re proud of.
To feel valued.
To be paid on time—with a “thank you.”
Clients who openly support you (vs. trying to exploit you)

The truth? Too many people obsess over MORE when what they actually want is BETTER.

More clients can mean more stress, more admin, and more distractions.

Better clients can mean more freedom, more energy, and more satisfaction.

So maybe the real question isn’t “How do I get more clients?”

 It’s “How do I get the right ones?”

Yesterday, I shared how I lead with a “results over hours” mindset in building my fully remote team. 



But what exactly are these "results"?

Have you ever heard a manager/boss/ceo say they let someone go because they weren't getting results?

Or, in any interview, being told "we just need results."

Whether you’re onboarding a new employee, hiring a vendor, or accepting a job/new project, the number one mistake I see is failing to define, in clear and measurable terms, what exactly are the expectations and promises around results.

Eager candidates will promise the world to get the job. Desperate or greedy clients will demand the unrealistic output from their vendors or employees.

In both cases, it leads to frustration and resentment on both sides. No one wins.

To win, we need a perfect alignment between expectations and delivery.

Follow my 3 steps for beautiful outcomes on every project:

1. State your goals in writing 

Don’t list tasks. Tasks create task-followers. If you want thinkers, leaders, creatives— set goals. Define KPIs. Explain how success will be measured. This reframes the relationship from “just do this” to “help us achieve this.” It should be a conversation. Do they care? Do they understand? If not, they aren't a good fit. When people understand and care about the why, they often bring better hows than you ever expected.

2. Be realistic.

Don’t expect someone to do the job of 10 people in 2 weeks and call that “results.”
If your expectations are unfair, you’ll churn through talent fast. People are not machines. They need sleep, time off, and clear priorities. And burning out your team will cost you. Because people are not easily replacable, hiring and training takes time. Better treat people well so they stay and flourish in their role.

3. Recognize work is a two-way street.

You want better results, Boss? Then you need to put in the effort, too.

💡 That means:

- Great onboarding
 - Clear communication
 - Timely feedback
- Fair pay
- A supportive environment
 - Good training

When people are set up to succeed, they do well. If they don't, review the list above and be honest: did you set them up for failure or success?

How to Turn Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service into One Lean, AI-Powered Growth Flywheel

My daughter is 8, and I think it’s one of the most incredible ages.
She learns something new literally every single day.

Her vocabulary is growing. She is billigual French-English so it's even double.

Her reading is improving.
She’s diving into multiplication tables.

Watching her reminds me of something we, as adults, too often forget:
Learning isn’t supposed to stop at childhood.

Yet, how do most grown-ups act?
We get frustrated when we don’t understand something right away.
We pretend we already know the answer.
We close off instead of staying open.

But kids aren’t like that. They’re curious. They stumble, they try again, and they keep expanding.

Maybe the real lesson here is this:
Don’t lose that childlike mindset.
Stay curious. Keep learning. Be open.
And never believe you already know it all.

Have you ever overpaid for a dud and later found gold for a bargain?

Back when I was building my coaching business, I hired a “personal branding expert.” She handled my brand identity and built me a shiny new 5-page website.

Her pre-requirement? A professional lifestyle photoshoot. Another $1k gone.

So there I was—sitting behind a desk, typing on my laptop, pretending to talk to a client while the photographer snapped away. The final site looked stunning. Glossy, high-res photos everywhere. Every page looked like a magazine cover.

I launched it, excited like a kid on Christmas morning.

But… crickets. 3 months went by. Almost no traffic. No clicks. No booked calls.

Just a $6k vanity project.

Frustrated, I scrapped it.

This time, I decided to just stick to landing pages. No consultant, no glossy photos. Just a $50 lifetime chatbot deal, a simple $20 template, and some good copywriting based on a course I purchased on Gumroad. Total cost: $150.

Here’s what I did differently the second time around:

✔️  Built around testimonials and case studies, not me. That was the "expert's" mistake!
✔️  Used just two "normal" photos of myself (Homepage + About), not me plastered all over the place.
✔️  Wrote SEO-optimized copy + FAQs based on real prospect questions.
✔️  Added social proof on every page.
✔️  Used a sticky nav bar so my “Book a Call” button followed visitors down the page.
✔️ Made CTAs bright, consistent, and unavoidable.

Then I went to my social media and email and made my community a time-sensitive offer. 

And guess what? It worked.

Traffic started flowing in. Bounce rates dropped. Calls got booked. The landing page started generating ROI almost immediately.

The moral? Don’t assume “experts” know best. A beautiful, expensive site that ignores strategy is just decoration. Outcomes—not aesthetics—reveal real expertise.

Sadly, I am not alone. So many CEOs I've worked with overspent on their marketing and sales with little to nothing to show for it. Hiring "real" experts can be tough to see past their shiny branding. Best test? Hard facts: testimonials, reviews, case studies, ask for references....facts don't lie but people do, especially when they are after your money:))

And sometimes - scrappy is better than fancy, just saying....

Even on weekends or holidays — not because I have to, but because leadership doesn’t clock out.

Here’s what I’ve learned 👇
👉 Real leaders don’t point fingers. They pick up the shovel.

Too many people think leadership means standing back, hands on hips, waiting for others to deliver —
ready to criticize or replace them when they don’t.

But leadership isn’t about commanding.
It’s about committing.

Sometimes that means doing your job, their job, and the cleanup crew’s job.
Sometimes it means staying up late, fixing things no one else will ever notice.

And that’s okay.
That’s the tradeoff.

So yes — delegate. Build systems. Trust your team.
But never think you’re “above” the work.

Because when you take your hand off the wheel, the ship drifts.

Leadership isn’t about chasing the easy life.
It’s about doing the hard things — over and over — until they pay off.
