I’m what you’d call the “anti-recruiter recruiter.” Why? Because the traditional hiring system is broken, and I’m not afraid to say it. Resumes? Overrated. Buzzwords? Worthless. My journey started in Spokane, Washington, as a sports-obsessed kid who always ended up wearing the captain’s armband. Leadership wasn’t just something I did; it was something I lived. Fast-forward to my early career at Aerotek, and I realized my knack for connecting people with opportunities. But I also saw how many companies were getting it wrong, focusing on skills over substance. So in 2002, I co-founded Tru Path (formerly known as Job Brokers Inc.), a company that grew 100% year-over-year for eight years, scaling to $50 million in revenue. When the 2008 financial crisis hit, I built a Managed Service Program that not only saved us from going under but led to our most successful years and a profitable exit. That experience taught me that purpose and strategy can turn even the toughest challenges into opportunities. ➡️ In 2012, I co-founded Y Scouts, the first purpose-driven executive search firm.
