Did you know that #Toronto boosts some serious #AI roots with the "godfather of AI" Geoffrey Hinton residing here?  Even when I was in college at University of Toronto two decades ago, AI was already on the undergrad curriculum. Top lessons I learned from a dinner with 8 LinkedIn Creators & Experts who had follower counts from 9000 to 60,000

1. Brands will pay you to sponsor your posts if your following is large enough, because they're getting thousands of impressions at a cheaper rate than Facebook/Google Ads. Think hundreds of dollars per posts, or even up thousands if you're big over.

2. Inspiration for content can come from internal sources (your own day-to-day work and discoveries), external sources (books, podcasts, blog you read online), or other content creators

3. There are a variety of tools that make LinkedIn easier e.g. Taplio, Shield AI, Repurpose.io, Kleo, but at the end of the day - most problems stem from finding content-audience fit. This is a positioning problem, that begins with figuring out who you are, who you serve, and how.

Then...it made me realize why sellers are needed...


Let me start from the beginning


📞 Michelle from HubSpot cold-called me a few days ago and did a superb job showing me why switching from a competitor makes sense based on my use case without pressuring me to switch.


🙅 Although I initially said no to HubSpot, we still did some back and forth via email, and she responded back without any hesitation, and without pressuring me to switch.


🚨 I decided to switch because I figured I urgently needed a functionality that HubSpot has. So, I reached out to Michelle and received an auto email stating I am OOO for the long weekend. 

I had to get access to HubSpot immediately so reached out to sales around 9 PM ET - Michelle's colleague tried to activate an account, we got a system error, she said billing would get back to you by email. Second attempt with another rep, she was great but was walking me through the same process.



Then...


📩 Suddenly received an email from Michelle, again ready to help. She figured out how to fix the issue while being OOO and via email! Easy peasy.


Shout out to Michelle Au Yeung at HubSpot!!


🤝 She's living proof of why sellers are needed and without them, companies might think the PLG self-served model is the way to go but that's not necessarily true! Now I want Michelle to be our AE at HubSpot for as long as she can!!

How should I ensure my sellers adapt to your platform?


This is top of mind for every executive I've chatted with who was considering SellMeThisPen for AI coaching and roleplay practice.


My suggestion is always the same.


🍼 Baby steps: Let's focus on tackling one problem at a time so we don't exhaust the team. I believe it would be best to build one or two role-play scenarios and measure adoption before rolling out different modules like real-time coach or post-call feedback. This way, we can de-risk this for them. Less time and money commitment upfront.


🤝 Internal early adopters: Based on our experience, the best way to go about this is to get the most engaged reps and managers involved in a small pilot. These individuals will be their early adopters, selling the idea internally to the rest of the team.


📏 Early KPIs to measure: Focus on end-user adoption first. This is the most important KPI to measure because if they don't use it, then regardless of how great a solution is, nobody can benefit from it.


Now here's the crazy part...


According to Pendo's interactive product benchmark report, the benchmark for a good feature adoption rate in B2B SaaS is 28%.


🤯 Well, our mid-market/enterprise clients see 90%+ adoption!! 


🥫 The secret sauce? All role-play practices are custom-built to sound and feel like actual client calls based on their use case from not only their materials but their past conversations with real clients.
