Now... those who lean-in hard with real agency to their business will succeed, and those who use shortcuts will ultimately not just fade away, but disappear. 

Those who just expect others to crack their business for them, won't win long term. 

Why? 

The services market niche of coaching and consulting 2x'd in the UK last year. 

There are over 500k active LinkedIn users in the US alone listed as a coaching business founder. 

The thing is, information is more free than ever before and content is more competitive. 

That course you have or wanna make? There are hundreds.

That hack you want to try? It won't bring in revenue next year or the year after. 

That $500 you wanna spend on ads because you're nervous? Someone is spending $25k - making the bet. 

You're thinking wrong about the long term scalability of the business and making quick decisions on Return on Ad Spend or chasing the next deal.

The long term return comes in the ecosystem you're building around the brand. 

Don't get me wrong, it is hard to do and not everyone has the money to be able to invest in accelerating that - but if you do - you have massive leverage. 

If you don't have the money - you have literally one choice - invest massively now into YouTube and LinkedIn (or Instagram if that matches your ICP.) Go very long. Buckle down. Crank it out. 

Yes. We have been saying this for a couple years now and it is only more real. 

Do some cold outbound to close whatever you can for the cash, work a couple consulting gigs or..... GET A JOB. Sorry, but its better than spinning in circles with boom and bust months. 

It is getting VERY competitive and what worked last year won't work in the years to come.

Build an audience around you, the brand, the expertise you have - the media company - then sell what you want. 

In short:
- Ensure you know where you're making your long term bet... content and growing your "list"
- Be ready to not have immediate home-runs in revenue
- Make sure what you're selling is actually valuable 
- Work with a team or individual who is putting in the right effort to test and figure things out with you

Helping Solopreneurs Scale Their Business | From Offer Strategy To Predictable Lead Funnel

We don't talk about hard things much (some do for engagement bait, yes.) What the OutDo team does is very hard - for the coaching and consulting space - with the service we provide.

We are going after a market (large, yes) that is very (very) immature in building a growth engine for a scalable business. 

Why do we do it? Because someone has to freaking do it, that isn't the typical predatory "buy 1,000 leads now" or "make a podcast, it will make you tons of money." 

Because solopreneurs in the coaching, consulting, and creator space simply do not know how to build a scalable growth engine that builds an audience of followers, builds trust, and gets buyers. 

They are stuck for years, spinning their wheels. Posting random things. Trying the next vitamin. Switching their offer. Buying a new website. Hiring a random upworker every few months. 

Going to Bali to find themselves. 

Disclaimer: You can do it on your own. It is possible. It is for a very rare breed of founder who can go at it and be diligent and committed to the process - and learn everything you have to learn. 

At OutDo, we have found an intersection in this space of offering both brand strategy and funnel strategy to take over the meat of building a scalable business for this market. 

And all while doing it at a competitive price. (For now.) 

You can pay us a premium and shorten the distance between testing your business model and cracking growth OR you can go at it alone. 

BOTH are doable. 

If you go alone, be sure to lean into proven individuals systems like FounderOS and the series of tools from Justin Welsh. It’s a long road but doable. I don’t advise endless YouTube nights, clicking ads to $5 PDFs, etc. you’ll just find endless loops. 

But it is hard, that is for sure. Our team works so hard to build strong brands around quality funnels that sell strong offers that our clients have. 

And that is just not easy. And it's awesome when it works, and it is tough when it doesn't.

But seeing our clients turn overnight into little mini-influencers in their niche, become publicly recognized, hit their biggest years of revenue, and so on... that's awesome. 

Honestly, the biggest win this year was watching multiple clients take full months off from their business. 

Anyway. We are about to be full for 2025. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this space that we are trying to lead in. 

Our team is awesome. Not perfect. Nobody is. But everyone sure as heck is figuring it out. 

And, we enjoy figuring it out together - like in this call today.

One of those days where you just sit there and get to say to yourself how special it is to create. Here is what we have been working on:

For those of you who are new to following myself or OutDo we made a major shift about 12 months ago now to specialize in building a scalable GTM engine for coaches and consultants.

About 3-4 months ago we doubled down on that bet to invest further both in hiring, training, and overall "TIME" we spend in developing strategies for growth based on what is happening in the industry. 

One main goal, build an audience around our clients of immediate and future ICP buyers. 

The platforms are changing and have been. More and more users are NOT engaging (although viewing) and the algo's continue to be mercurial. 

So you have to adapt. That is what growth is really, at the end of the day. To be in a system where you can give "inputs", get "outputs" and adapt those "inputs."

What does that mean for us?

We sit on calls and talk. Sometimes, for hours. 

We look at the details behind why campaigns work the way they do. 

Why content does or does not resonate. 

How to NOT build a content system that just "churns" out content, but one that builds trust and a following and what you become synonymous for. 

We have clients now who are literally becoming "synonymous" with terms, trends, etc. 

We look at a $10/day campaign that is getting a nearly 10% purchase rate from page visitor to analyze how to carry that throughout the business.

Why? Because if you can crack a low-ticket sale ($25-100) using a lead generation style campaign, you can: 
A) Actually profit. 
B) Subsidize Ad-Spend. 
C) Have a way to delineate "buyers" into your ecosystem (not, I don't always recommend that) 

This is your remind as a founder that if you're grinding it out - remember that you need to take in "inputs" (info) and if you insert those learnings into new outputs, you're heading in the right direction.

It can take some people years, and thats normal.

Who said you cannot sell $97 and $7,500? Here is some advice on pricing out your services...

First - Ask yourself, can you provide a lot of value on either end of the spectrum? What would you sell to someone for $97/month or $100 one-time?

Most of your audience, b2b or b2c, will be willing to risk $50-100 to "test" your service to see if you provide enough value. 

One thing to consider, most of the time, someone who is buying something for $50, won't be someone who is buying something for $7,500. 

It doesn't mean you shouldn't sell to them... especially if you can make the unit economics work. 

E.g. $2 Cost Per Click -> $200 for 100 visitors -> 2 purchases for $100 each gives you a net ROAS, but it means you have covered your ad spend and now know that you have a serious buyer in your lead list who can easily upsell to something worth $500 or even $1,000.

Second - Consider the "value ladder" or Acession model when making this pricing up. Take a look at what we just walked through. That is a good example of not caring if your ROAS is 0 (net) because you will easily sell 1 in 5 or 10 buyers your $1,000 program. If you can seamlessly make the offer make sense after the first purchase... why / how do they easily see the value in the next step?

Third - Price your high-ticket item accordingly to who you want to work with and its value. This is where a lot of you (including even me) price incorrectly. It is so easy to talk yourself down in price or add more value. When in reality, focus on explaining and showing how your service for $5,000 is impacting a $50,000 outcome. That is what they will care about. 

This is just a quick cheat sheet to think about your pricing - there are many more variables and structures you can use.

Just finished a call with a new coaching founder who transferred their career skill into coaching. I was shocked at how far they'd got on their own. Here's what they did:

As I share endlessly, your coaching or consulting (yes, you too, fractionals) is weak in one or more of these three areas:
1. Lead Generation 
2. Funnel Structure 
3. Offer Strategy 

Now, all of those have different answers based on what your goal is as a founder. 

Do you just want a couple of meetings per month and a few big deals per year? Nice, that isn't anywhere near the same as if you're trying to build a scalable coaching business or one that is mostly served without your time. 

This coach has all 3 problems to a certain degree but the fact that he had even done all 3 on his own puts him in a club of approximately 2 out of every 10 coaching founders I speak to. 

He gets it. Knows he cannot run it on his own. 

But - it puts him in a powerful position to be able to make faster decisions with the right help. 

This is why it is crucial for people who are not experts in the areas they are working on to openly research and converse with those who are. 

It isn't a weakness.  It is a strength. Most founders would have sat there spinning in circles, wasting thousands. 

But we were able to talk through exactly what is working and not working - and call out WHY. 

Those are the clients that make OutDoer's most excited to work with. The ones who can collaborate and not muddy the waters. 

If you haven't already, take your time and ask yourself where your business may be failing in those three areas.

Chances are you're overcomplicating your funnel, offer, or overall expectations of your business. 

Start with documenting your current lead gen, funnel, and offer strategy in one place and ask yourself where can you call out specific gaps. 

Even coaches need coaches. One of my favorite coaching stories is of Eric Schmidt (ex-google CEO) saying how Bill Campbell was a large reason why he was even remotely as successful as he was at Google. 

You need to extra perspective. The unbiased removal of your own beliefs.
