Personal stories: 
 
>>Build rapport 
>>Prove the offer works 
>>Make compelling hooks 
 
Sometimes, who you are and what you've achieved are your best selling points. 
 
Don't bury them somewhere down the page.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but you don’t need to lower your prices.

People will spend thousands of dollars on stuff without blinking if the offer is attractive enough. 

And how do you create an attractive offer? 

Here's how my client and I did it for our most recent launch:

1 – Make it super specific

Bad: Learn how to market your online store
Better: Get your online store from 0 to 1000 visitors per day
Best: Get your online store from 0 to 1000 visitors per day in 4 weeks, without spending a dime on ads or posting every single day on social media

2 – Sell the transformation, not the product

Nobody cares about your product. No matter how good it is.

All they care about is what the product can DO for them – the transformation you’re promising.

So don’t build your sales assets (content, emails, sales page) around product features, but rather make sure there’s a clear BENEFIT readers can internalize immediately when they read.

That’s when they’ll buy.

3 – Show proof. And show it very often

Use customer stories if you have them: screenshots especially work best these days. 

They show candid conversations between you & existing customers, which builds more trust with non-customers.

And if you DON’T have any customers yet, just use your own success story. 

Or get some beta testers into your product for free to get some reviews.

If no one’s buying from you, it's not because:

Stories that move people.

Stories that show people it’s okay to be where they are and that things CAN get better for them. 

Stories that talk about failures and present the right solutions. 

Stories that make people believe they can be successful.

You get the gist. 

So go deep with your market research. Evoke the right emotions through stories.

And you'll start seeing more sales come in.

Requirements on a job post I was reading earlier:

"- Be ready to work weekends

- When I feel the time is right, I will test your limits by giving you TONS of projects at the same time

- Be extremely fast. You must be able to turn around deliverables the same day if I request it

- We want a 100% success rate and anything less is totally unacceptable"

Yeah... no. 😅 

I don’t know who needs to hear this… 

But just because 20, 100, 1000 people from your audience haven’t bought from you, it doesn’t mean that your offer sucks. 

Or that your content isn’t good enough.

Not everyone is ready to buy when you want them to be ready to buy. 

Sure, if you’re good at marketing, you’ll be converting a lot of people into customers. 

But a 100% conversion rate is impossible. 

So be patient, keep telling people about your products/services and what they can do for them. 

Because some people just need more time.

Instead of saying this...

“This course has 4 hours of content and shows you how to reignite the spark in your marriage”.

Say this...

“Last year, my relationship with my wife got so bad she packed her bags and left me. I didn’t understand how we got there. But then…”

See the difference?

Do this in your content, on your sales pages, and in your email marketing.

Here’s what most people get wrong about urgency when trying to sell their courses/products. 

They think urgency means:

- Buy now before I increase the price
- Or buy now before I close down the doors to my program 

Which is all fine. That *is* good urgency. 

But what do you do when you have an evergreen product that doesn’t get a price increase and is constantly on sale? 

Can you still create urgency out of thin air? 

Yup.

You just have to lead with the urgency of inaction.

Meaning:

For a course on, let's say, landing B2B clients, what happens if your ideal customer DOESN'T start getting leads this month?

Tax season is coming up. People will have to pay a looot of money. 

There’s your urgency.

TL;DR: Use the cost of inaction for urgency when you don’t have a urgent situation at hand (e.g. a price increase)

Bad market research:

- Attracting the wrong audience or no audience at all
- Your sales pages or emails aren’t speaking to people
- Your launches flop despite major marketing efforts
- You don’t know how to keep your audience engaged because you don’t understand exactly what they need from you
- You fear every marketing decision you make because you never know if it’s going to work or be well received

Good market research:

- Your audience starts buying because they feel understood
- You have clarity around what products to create next
- You have hundreds of content ideas at your fingertips because you know what your audience wants to learn from you
- Your launches exceed expectations and sell out ALL the spots on your programs
- You feel confident about your marketing because you understand what hits

So if yours is bad... how do you fix it?

STOP. Here’s how to fix your leaky funnel 👇

1 – Post the right type of content

You don’t need a huge audience to sell. But you do need to post the right types of content.

I get calls booked into my calendar while I'm sleeping because I'm writing:

a) Story-based content (how the offer helped YOU and/or your past customers, why you created the offer, behind the scenes of creating this offer, etc.)

b) Consequential content (if you don’t do X, you will not Y – e.g. this post, lol)

c) PAS content (Problem - Agitation - Solution). 

With a caveat: you must know your ideal client really well for this, or else you won't convert them.

By the way, when I say content, I mean both on your social media AND on your email list (I'm an email marketer, after all 😉)

2 – Post more often/send more emails

No, people will not hate you.

No, people will not think you’re sleazy.

As long as your content is RELEVANT and valuable (and by this I don’t mean only offering free tips until the end of time; read point 1) again!)...

...you will retain the right people who will become your buyers.

3 – Re-evaluate your sales assets

– Do you tell your success story on your sales page?

– Do you have a money-back guarantee? Does it make sense for you to have one?

– Do you overcome enough objections on your sales page? 

(E.g. how is your offer different from others, how easy/hard is it to get to the transformation, what kinds of people can use your product successfully, why is the price justified, what is the cost of inaction, etc.)

- Are you clearly communicating the transformation customers should expect to get after working with you?

If you aren't already, start implementing these things into your marketing.

And you'll start seeing more sales come in.
