Welcome to my page - where you’ll find my best attempt at bringing some humor along with some fun facts and GTM tips and tricks!

We can all agree that life is typically too serious and stressful, especially on a professionally based platform, so I enjoy breaking that norm with some laughter in both my content and sales process.

Professionally: I specialize in building and refining sales motions and top of funnel processes, bringing a unique twist that “breaks through the noise” of the modern day dreaded norm of what people believe is good revenue generation.

Before moving to Sales, I had the pleasure of coaching and treating thousands of clients through rehabilitation and personal training for almost 10 years, where I now channel the same energy and passion in leading GTM teams.

You’ve scrolled this far, we might as well get to know one another.

Mission 2: To build my career in Sales and build a bridge between my old world of fitness and apply those principals to the business world.


- Constantly looking to learn. Go spark up a conversation and learn something about them and that little conversation could change your life. 

- “You don’t know till you try” I find to many people (myself included) stay comfortable and are afraid of breaking complacency.

- There is no greater feeling being coached or better yet, coaching someone else, and watching them succeed.

Just let them stew in it

Nothing drives someone more crazy on here than when you disagree with them in public

I knew my son would disappoint me at some point but what he told me is unforgivable 

Being a father comes with so many highs and regrettably, so many lows

Sadly, I experienced the worst of them at lunch today

I asked my son what he wanted to be when he grew up, trying to inspire imagination and live vicariously through his ambitions 

Fire fighter, cowboy, construction worker

All answers I was prepared for

However…

He answered me with something I can never forgive him for


He told me he wants to go into marketing…

Something’s you say can never be taken back

Everyone who’s criticizing outreach on here

Why don’t you go try to do it better?

…with a quota in the worst job market that many have ever seen


It’s easy to recieve a cold call and tell the rep to smile and dial

It’s easy to get an email and blast them for using your name without permission


It’s another when you’re the one hitting dial or send

I had a few people tell me the other day that they didn’t like my content 

In more important news…

My last two jobs are a direct result from leadership finding my content funny

There should be an unwritten rule

If you are going to post a message you recieve from a sales person and rip it up with criticism 

You should first agree to a meeting and get them credit

The fact is:

Never eat yellow snow

Dino nuggets are a major food group

And balance yourself

The rest will come in time

If you need to include a selfie or staged photo to increase your reach

Maybe you should focus more on the quality of the written content rather than what irrelevant picture you’ll slap on it

I genuinely had no idea that Common Room had more than 1 SDR

The 18 year old SDR wonder kid you see everywhere

Daily reports of outbound metrics

Meetings booked stats

Tips and tricks used to generate pipeline 

Only ever mentioning one person…

One time, however, someone in Comm Room’s leadership posted the teams monthly quota attainment results 

There was the wonder kid and 12 other blocked out names on the list!

13 SDRs!

A few stragglers

Some middle of the pack achievers

Then the 18 year old SDR’s name at the top of the list


Good for them, super solid and wish them nothing but continued success!


I’m not here to tell people who to follow

Or how to lead their team

But I will say

I’m sure glad my leadership doesn’t post our team stats on a social media platform

Or market a single person based on trending popularity like they’re some Disney child star


Is it me who only finds this leadership style slightly…weird

Working remotely has allowed me to develop some incredible skills you can’t in an office environment

The one I use most, for example

Is not breaking my concentration during customer calls while I hear my son get in trouble in the next room and knowing I’m next

Ready to do this again?

So SDRs are cool again

Well, they were never not cool

Just thought they could be replaced with AI

Then once we realized, after a lot of loud and rather humorous theories of AI taking sales jobs, we can’t automate a lot of the value that sales people bring in the top of funnel approach

So we instead gave the responsibility to AEs…with AI

“We can give them a wide net so they can still generate the same amount of pipeline as before and still close even more revenue because, oh yeah, we increased quotas…”

LOL

But parallel dialing killed connect rates faster than the time LinkedIn badges were considered cool and relying on email sequences was like trusting a fart after a night of Taco Bell


“Let’s outsource the function and hire an agency so we can cut costs but still have some support”

Ok, what does good look like that they can execute on?

“…no clue”


9 months later, after the failed experiment and AEs complaining like my 4 year old not being able to watch Bluey 

We muster up the courage to text SDRs again

“Hey, you up?”


There’s something’s that can’t be replaced no matter how hard we try

Understanding our ICP better than they know themselves

“But ChatGPT told me…”

Sit down Stuart and raise your hand next time


Being curious to find true value of delivery and relevance to the individual and organization through the eyes of the prospects

Developing business acumen so they can understand how this deal will operate and work in tandem with the sales team to get it over the line

And a hunger. My guess is there are only a handful SDRs who want to stay in the role but instead have the hunger to grow their career - sprinkle in a quota and you’ll have yourself a person going above and beyond


Where more bodies doesn’t equal more revenue

Strategy does

Doesn’t have to be the 1:1 model like before but it’s not ironic that the strongest performing teams leverage SDRs, strategically

I’ve always been envious of digital nomads until I realized that there are two very different definitions of what that means

The American definition 

…and then everyone else’s 

The typical digital nomad could mean they are calling in from literally anywhere around the world

While the American definition typically means they went down the street and are working from Starbucks

I had no idea that there were so many reps in SF, Austin, NYC, Denver, and Chicago…

I mean, that’s why teams are only hiring in those cities right?

…right?
