Yup - I'm officially mental 🤯

As I have mentioned before, business can be all consuming and I have been advised by many an exited Founder that having a life outside of the business is important too. So, I wanted a challenge and a challenge is what I have got!

I am officially a jockey in the Magnolia Cup charity race over 5 1/2 Furlongs on 1st August at Goodwood - with thousands of people watching me as we open ladies day as the first race. 

This is no mean feat, hours upon hours of training, fitness challenges, mental mindset and fear all play a part 😜 plus I actually had to do 6 months of training before I even got "picked" to be in the race. 

Why am I doing this?

👉 To showcase that women are amazing 
👉 To shine a light on women in sport and business 
👉 To support an amazing charity supporting women from domestic abuse

Domestic abuse is real:

In the last year someone who I thought "had it all" reached out to me and told me that their new husband was abusing them, physically but also financially. 

I went into auto mode and helped this woman out, by moving her into our home with us whilst she got away from him and on her own two feet. Barely a second thought from me, yet I was surprised that others wouldn't do the same... "what if he comes for you" "What if she is lying" "don't get involved".. was the narrative of some. 

That's when it hit home that a charity like My Sisters' House CIO is so important for women to have a place to go for support, when they need to be at their strongest but the world is against them. 

You can help by donating, whether it's £1, £100 or £1000 every donation helps another woman to be saved from domestic abuse right here in the UK.
