This story reminds me so much of this brilliant book, "4000 Weeks," I've read about how time management is a complete lie.

The more you optimize your week and the faster you answer your emails, the more requests will come your way and you get miserable and inefficient again.

I get the appeal of automating stuff so we have more time for other things, but at the same time, most people suck at setting boundaries.

And they are so, so important. If you don't have boundaries, you don't push back on the system and actively hide that there's a gap that should be covered.

How should I know that we should hire someone additionally or cut scope if you just always buckle down and load it up on yourself until you burn out?

Speed is just one variable of winning a race. Making sure you're driving in the right direction feels much harder and more important lately.

Miro announced at Canvas 25 their new AI capabilities, and I have since then played around with them a bit.

The two core features for me that stuck out are Sidekicks and Flows. 

Sidekicks are essentially an LLM that is capable of interacting with your Miro canvas based on what you trained it on.
You can, for instance, select parts of your canvas and ask it for advice on that particular selection.
I’m working right now on creating a PLG Sidekick that is trained on my material for that very use case.

The Flows are a set of instructions that you can branch from any frame, but with a predefined output. For instance, an Excel sheet, a flow chart, a picture, slides… whatever you like. (Screenshot below for an example)

This is extremely powerful to shorten some workflows that otherwise create a ton of work for me:

For instance, if you interview someone and you create at the same time notes like post-its based on that interview with your observations, what the person said… anything really. These Flows can then transform that into reusable documents and spreadsheets based on your instructions.

And that’s awesome, it’s so much better than a normal call transcript because it’s based on your observations and paired with custom instructions.
You could specifically instruct Flows to always look for mentions of a specific feature and then separate that information and put that into a structured table.

You can even combine multiple inputs into one output, for instance, you could take specific parts of that interview and combine with a screenshot of something you took, and have the LLM process all three sources at the same time.

Then you could take that output and run it automatically to something else at the end of it. 
The magic here is how seamless it works for a visual medium and how easy it is to set this up as a template for a recurring task (like an interview).

It feels like the AI supports me on where it’s good (summarization, sorting, etc.) and leaves me alone where I’m good (visualizing and thinking unstructured).

It’s hard to describe, but believe me when I say: it’s really good.
