You don’t need permission.

The secret to happiness is pretty simple:

Expect less from others and more from yourself.

I used to be disappointed all the time:

- Friends who didn’t show up.
- Colleagues who dropped the ball.
- Family members who let me down.

Then I realised something:

I was expecting people to think, care, and act like me.

They don’t. And that’s okay.

So I lowered my expectations of others. And raised them for myself.

That’s when things changed.

- I stopped taking things personally.
- I appreciated small gestures more.
- I became the person I wanted others to be.

This is the paradox of expectations:

The less you expect from people, the better they treat you.

The more you expect from yourself, the better life gets.

Stop outsourcing your happiness.

It’s your responsibility. No one else’s.

The most successful people I know are... boring.

And I mean that as the highest compliment.

Their routines aren’t optimized for excitement.

They’re optimized for output:

→ Same wake-up time
→ Same inputs every day
→ Same core actions, repeated
→ Whether they feel like it or not

It looks rigid from the outside.

But it’s actually freedom.

Because once you stop negotiating with yourself daily - you start compounding.

When I was in the early days of my business,

I thought I had a discipline problem.
But really, I had a boredom problem.

I kept changing my approach the moment it got repetitive.

But that’s when my mentor told me:

“You don’t need a new strategy.

You need to get really good at doing the obvious thing - again and again and again.”

That stung. But he was right.

While I was constantly switching tactics, 

The people actually winning were doing the same boring stuff every single day.

Because success isn't sexy. 

It's repetitive, consistent, and kind of boring.
But boring people change the world.

So yes, be more boring.

In 2019, I raised $300K to build a startup that failed.

On paper I had everything going for me:
→ Got meetings with billion-dollar companies.
→ An idea I couldn’t stop thinking about.
→ Investors who believed in me.

And yet… it failed.

The software was too complex.
The ERP integrations were a nightmare.
The execution drained me financially and emotionally.

I shut it down, quietly.

Just me, in my office, staring at the wall wondering what the hell just happened.

That failure was hard. 
But it also became the best thing that ever happened.

Because it taught me:
– Never bet your entire identity on one idea.
– A business that works on paper might not work in real life.
– The safest path is diversification - multiple small bets, not one giant one.

Since then, I’ve paid off that money and built a portfolio business I love.
I run multiple brands under one LLC.

I take my weekends off.
I work on things I love, not things that “look good.”

My life is quiet, simple, spacious.
And it funds itself.

None of that would have happened without that failure.

So if you’re in the middle of a hard season, ask yourself:
What if this isn’t the end?
What if this is failure #3 out of the 5 between you and your big win?
Would you keep going?

I hope you do.
Because failure isn’t the opposite of success.
It’s the road that leads there.

For years, I thought consistency meant being on all the time.

So when I gave 60% on a Tuesday, I’d beat myself up.

“I’m lazy.”

“I’m not disciplined enough.”
“This is why I’m not where I want to be.”

But here’s what I missed:

I still showed up.

Here’s the perfectionist trap no one warns you about:

→ You think the goal is 100% every day.
→ You think off-days cancel your progress.
→ You think rest is failure in disguise.

But the reality is:

Winners don’t win because they’re perfect.
They win because they keep showing up even when they’re not.

What 60% looks like:

→ Dragging yourself to the gym, barely trying
→ Writing one paragraph when you planned ten
→ Making three sales calls when you wanted twenty

And that is what consistency is.

It’s not 100%. It’s just never hitting 0%.

That’s what changed everything for me.

I stopped measuring perfection.

Started measuring persistence.

Now my bar is simple:

Show up.

Even if it’s messy.
Even if it’s tiny.
Even if it’s all you can give.

Because you don’t build a dream life with perfect days.

You build it by refusing to disappear - especially on the hard ones.

If today’s a 23% day, show up anyway.

It still counts.
You still count.
