A writer with over 3 million views/ month. :) An educator who has taught live over 150 people from 30+ countries, and has 12,000+ customers. ✉️ hi [at] niharikasodhi [dot] com Coming to the 'story'... I'm a writer. And with that, I also became an educator and entrepreneur. I side hustled for 10 months in 2020 because something was missing. I refuse to believe you shouldn't be kicked to go to work when you wake up. I refuse to believe that you need to reach a certain 'level' to do high-impact work. Labels and designations aren’t exciting either. And I strongly believe that there's enough wealth we can all create if we play by the mindset of abundance and not scarcity. We have a duty to be of service to other people. And we only have one chance at life to tap into our potential and unleash it. So I quit my job in 2021 to write full time. That led to: • becoming a 22x top writer on Medium • creating digital products • having a cohort-based course that's educated 100+ people across 30+ countries • getting accepted to LinkedIn Creator Accelerator Program As a writer, my purpose is to leave everyone healthier and happier. As an educator and entrepreneur, I want to help other creators level up their game and solve their problems. I'm passionate about healthy living, reading, and mindfulness. I've also travelled to 24 countries and still have fear of flying. I run two newsletters. I also do consultations so you can effortlessly develop your personal brand. ➡️ Collaborations: If I haven't used your product and/or don't resonate with it, no amount of money makes up for it. If your product/biz is around the creator economy, education, and/or is earth-friendly, I'd be keener to hear from you. Twitter: @NiharikaSodhi 🚨PS: I have 25,000+ connection requests. One of my income sources made $10,000 in sales by the first week of this month. It took me four people willing to pay $2500 to do it. Too many freelancers or aspiring creators try to sell their services to many. Even as a complete newbie, I didn't work with ultra-cheap clients. Except for one $50 gig, I charged over $100 for one piece of writing (under 1500 words). I say this before you come at me that one needs an audience to do it 🙄 I conducted cohort-based courses priced at $$$ and sold out 11/12 times, and it started before I had 10,000 followers. I had a few hundred followers when I got into the business side of writing (selling products). Here's what you can do as a complete beginner: 🔹 Show your work: even if you're new, you get paid if you're damn good. Do that by showcasing your skills online. I did this by writing on Medium and using that work to pitch myself. You also get better at your skills this way. 🔹 Create a bundle: You are more likely to close a client if it's a win-win with extras and freebies. 🔹 Get good: there's no shortcut. You get money when you help the client generate money. Upskill via YT videos, online courses, learn sales and negotiation from books, etc. Online courses have always given me high ROI. 🔹 Build a brand: write on LinkedIn about your expertise + stuff outside of work. After a few months, you'll be known for what you do and people will want to work with you. 🔹 Give it 12 months: because it's impossible to learn to play a guitar, get excellent at a sport or become a VP of a company in 3 months. Why do you expect it from your side hustle, then? One segment will say this is rigged and untrue. Others will put it to work and see changes within months. Guess which one will win? Happy Monday! Follow your dreams.
I was SO exhausted yesterday as I had an in-person meeting after ages. At the co-working space, looking at so many people made me feel overwhelmed. I still chose a time when I don't have to drive during rush hour at least. Tomorrow onwards, I'll be chilling with my baby cousin who's visiting us from the US and has a list of Delhi food he wants to eat. So tomorrow this time, I'll be hosting my family and spending time with them and then we'll go to out favourite kebab place for dinner. On Saturday, we'll meet again for lunch. And maybe do nothing and become a burrito on Sunday. I read something on Twitter today... I don't remember the exact quote, but it was something around - instead of flexing a fancy car, I'd rather flex that I have nowhere to go to every morning. PS - I also worked out today after over a week of illness so feeling extra happy :)
When everyone else is doing it, you feel less bad about indulging in it, no? What would you add?
75,000 views and counting - a conversation that dug deep into my 🧠 and got me SO tired. I told Dhairya I felt so exhausted after this because I felt like nobody had got so deep into my head and thinking as she did. No wonder, there's so much love that I'm getting and so is Dhairya for her excellent questions. If you have time this weekend to learn about • who I am, • how I did what I did, and • why I do it This is the conversation that'll give you an insight into that. Link in the comments below ⬇️
I didn't know until recently that most features in big magazines, followers on Instagram, and views on YouTube are PAID. I had my experience 2 weeks ago. When my TEDx talk was released, I had this PR company reach out to me, explaining how • most talks don't cross 200 views • they can give me millions of views • this can help me get paid speaking gigs I said I don't buy numbers because numbers don't end and I am ok with the talk not getting views. I got a demeaning 'lol' as a response. They later messaged me on LinkedIn, I said we spoke today. Another 'lol' as a response. I thought I'd let them know my talk reached 150K views without paying (which is BIG for me, okay?). And a third demeaning 'nope' as a response. Only to say "I know these things" - because obviously one cannot get love online from people unless they spend $5000 on such firms. I post this here because: • Are we really going to make people feel like sh!t for not buying likes? • Won't this make vulnerable people feel compelled to buy numbers? • Are we becoming incapable of appreciating someone's work? • If someone denies your services, should you demean them? • Would they have spoken this way to a white person? Just some Qs to think of :)
We're all following the same pattern - work really hard, put in long hours, normalise bad health and lack of family time. Now - some people thrive in it. Just like my 3h workday could be incredibly boring for so many, but I thrive in it. Things change when you put a reverse gear. That requires lots of - unlearning - mindset shifts - courage But goodness exists on the other side of it. Who are you? Why are you here? What will make life 'worth it' for you? When you answer that and work to get aligned with your purpose and value systems, it will all make sense. It will all fall into place. You'll see there's living, and then there's living joyfully. All the answers are inside you. But the world today is getting you more and more detached from inside, even though you're technically 'in touch' with everything around. "Because you are alive, everything is possible" - Thich Nhat Hanh
200,000+ views! I’m realising I really am my worst critic. I criticised all that I missed but turns out I’m the only one who noticed that. Grateful for the love ❤️ Link in the comments below if you’re interested to watch.
Show up consistently for 12 months and people will call you ‘lucky’ with the results. So basically… A lot of this ‘luck’ is in your control. Increase your surface area of luck by showing up every single day. You got this 💪🏼
Does scrolling online sometimes make you feel worse about your life? Do this and you'll instantly feel better. Every time you envy someone online, ask yourself this one question. Trust me, just try it! Ask: "Would I want to trade my *entire* life with them?" Because what you see are the results. That's what makes you feel bad about yourself. But you rarely see the struggle or journey behind it. Everyone shows their happy parts. That isn't their story, it's only a photo. And even when one comes from privilege so you may think they struggled less (everyone has different realities), you dismiss their probable issues like: • broken homes • bad relationships • lack of true friends • crippling mental health • concealed health issues The list is endless. Often, when I look at someone and I feel I wish I were them, I ask myself this. And I have never answered 'yes'... not even once. Because I wouldn't trade what I have with my family + my partner, my best friend, for anything in the world. Many don't have such profound relationships. And for me, no amount of fame, success, or money is worth as much. Try it out and let me know how you feel :) Don't let social media make you feel this way because there's a lot you have in your life to be grateful for. You just have to notice it. “Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.” - A.A Milne, Winnie The Pooh
