We got trained in several skills which have to be used in AIESEC. I was also elected as the leader of my team of 10 other delegates all from different cities.

•	Went for JNC (July National Conference) where delegates from across the country were there and I had a great opportunity to know AIESEC in India's standing and how can we as the youth take it forward.

Coming to the 'story'...

I'm a writer. And with that, I also became an educator and entrepreneur.

I side hustled for 10 months in 2020 because something was missing. 

I refuse to believe you shouldn't be kicked to go to work when you wake up. I refuse to believe that you need to reach a certain 'level' to do high-impact work. Labels and designations aren’t exciting either. 

And I strongly believe that there's enough wealth we can all create if we play by the mindset of abundance and not scarcity.

We have a duty to be of service to other people. And we only have one chance at life to tap into our potential and unleash it.

So I quit my job in 2021 to write full time.

That led to:

• becoming a 22x top writer on Medium
• creating digital products 
• having a cohort-based course that's educated 100+ people across 30+ countries

As a writer, my purpose is to leave everyone healthier and happier.

I've seen people waking up early, sleeping late, take calls on weekends all for their jobs. 
 
This effort isn't even to build your dream, it's to build someone else's 🤦🏻‍♀️ 
 
A 'good employee' according to the society is someone who: 
 
- comes to work early 
- leaves work late 
- works hard 
- multi-tasks 
 
Which is just sad, because their life is all about this job that will drop them the moment they aren't required. 
 
Haven't we seen a series of layoffs to prove this? 
 
A young employee today wants 
 
- time to hit the gym 
- time to do things they enjoy 
- spend time with their loved ones 
- pursue hobbies outside of work 
 
They may be termed lazy, but they aren't. You're just too damn attached to your job because you didn't spend time finding any form of belongingness outside of it. 
 
It's your identity. Which honestly, is dangerous (because what is the job goes, the identity will shatter!). 
 
Work on your culture instead of expecting people to lay their lives for a job because everyone has a life they deserve to live. Work is just a part of it.

I have a new entrepreneur in my house, and the only female entrepreneur in our family ➡  my mum-in-law.

She hadn't worked before because being a wife of an Air Force Pilot she was always on the move and was busy taking care of her kids.

Months ago, we contemplated putting our second floor on Airbnb so she could earn at least some passive income.

Today, we had a guest from Switzerland check out saying all good things about his stay.

We've had 10 bookings in 7 months, 3 of which are from abroad and the others are from various parts of the country.

ALL our reviews are 5-star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

And last week, we became SUPERHOSTS! 🏆

People casually comment all this and while I put a smile on and ignore it, I'll be honest - it affects me. 

It doesn't affect my mental peace because that's only in my control, but it makes me feel how much in love we're in with misinformation and unawareness. And how much we reward terrible and harmful habits.

"Don’t get thinner than this."

"You will regret this lifestyle when you’re older." 

Context: I work out 5-6 times a week and eat healthy food. It’s what I’ve been doing since June 2014 as I worked hard during my undergraduate days to shed 25 kilos. I’ve always been a fat kid, and it's a trauma I don't want to live through again. 

Only a fellow fat kid will be able to relate to what I just said.

In my defence to the comments,

1. If I truly want to eat dessert at night, I will. But I won’t eat things only because they’re served to me and I ‘have’ to. I have higher respect for my body than social obligation. 

2. It’s scientifically proven that junk is addictive. And we’ll confuse that addiction with the ‘heart’ 🤦🏻‍♀️ Or worse, 'self-care' 🤣

3. I have a sedentary lifestyle and I highly recommend an hour of activity to everyone. We need to build muscle for long-term health and longevity (again, science). 

4. I’m not thin, I’m fit. I’m tall at 5.9” and may appear leaner. I’m not into shapes, I’m into holistic health. 

5. I'm doing this so my older self can escape diseases. After all, most of them are a consequence of bad habits. My mom’s been lifting for over 20 years and is fitter + looks younger than most people her age. I’m sure her habits have something to do with this. 

It’s sad how being fit is shamed so badly. 

If you order fries and coke, nobody would utter a word. But you eat healthy and it's suddenly weird.

Older people especially need to discontinue this because if we comment on their beer bellies or how unfit they are, they’ll call us ‘rude’ and then we’ll be the body shamers, lol. 

The irony. 

Many of you don't know this, but I've suffered from severe flight anxiety from May 2018 to October 2022. The anxiety is to another level where I feel it's the end of me.

It's painful, physically too.

The photo you see below was right before this trip when it all started.

Brace yourselves - the reason is veryyyy stupid. Extremely!

I had a flight to Stockholm early morning and had to leave home at 4 am.

Now, naturally, if you have to wake up at 3 am, it's difficult to sleep at night. 

So I spent time on YouTube and found this awesomesauce channel. I won't name them because they're genuinely amazing and I don't want them to get a bad light.

The channel covers high-quality videos of air crashes and goes through the mechanics of how they happened. The quality of the animation is brilliant too.

Now I went straight for my flight. 

....And my heart sank throughout. 

I thought it was a temporary thing after the video overdose.

Then, it happened in every flight I took.

Delhi to Sydney in 2019, was a long 13h+ flight, and I thought I was going to explode. I heard Prateek Kuhad songs to calm down.

There's only one downloaded meditation on my phone and that's for flight anxiety.

In October 2022, I took a flight from Goa to Delhi and for the first time, my heart didn't sink. I didn't think of all the things I saw in that video years ago.

I didn't think I won't make it.

I've continued travelling through the anxiety but I wish I had taken help about it so it didn't have to take 6.5 years to randomly snap out of. 

Here's a wrap of of my month, not an easy one. 
 
🌞 The Good: 
 
• Met Sahil Bloom, twice! 
• Got the opportunity to meet a bunch of amazing entrepreneurs thanks to Ankur Warikoo 
• My husband's fun birthday! (photo below) 
 
😎 The New 
• Reached five-figures in $ first the first time in 42 months of being in the creator economy 💰 (link in the comments I published it last night) 
• My gym opened after 8 weeks 💪🏼 And I've mainted my fat % and muscle mass all this while! 
• Got out of my comfort zone and met new people 
• Started a secret intimate mentoring group (got sold out too) 🚀 
 
😔 The Bad 
• A week-long flu then another week long cough 
 
So much good happened at work and in my personal life, but the one flu I got affected my work, routine, and everything. 
 
Makes me realise that absolutely no amount of money or success matters if you don't have good health. 
 
While this flu was just seasonal, it still wasn't a fun place to be in. 

If you have young team members, read this. If you're junior and unmotivated, this is for you (because I know what it's like). 
 
One of my ex-bosses worked 14h a day and had 2 kids. 
 
Another ex-boss took pride in being a workaholic and worked 18 hours a day. 
 
My creator friend works 8 am to 2 am. He's young and doesn't have a family but that doesn't mean this isn't ruining his health. And no amount of money will make up for it. 
 
When I was working a corporate job, my motivation to grow dipped. Everyone higher than me: 
 
• worked longer hours 
• sacrificed time with self + family 
• worked odd hours (for stakeholders abroad) 
 
So the only motivation is a salary hike with a designation? 
 
It isn't lack of work-life balance but lack of living a life which is demotivating your younger employees. And while they may be tied to you because of their circumstances, I'm sure you know unhappy folks aren't the most efficient. 
 
The ball is in your court now :) 
 
Times have changed, now it's your turn.

Being really 'average' throughout academics can be a hidden superpower. Here's how it helped me:

1. No complexes when people flex fancy colleges because you wouldn't get into them anyway.

2. No expectations from people around you because it's not like you were bringing awards home.

3. Shallow fear of failure because winning was never your game.

This trait helped me set up a full-fledged business and succeed because growing up I wasn't labelled with anything that pressured me.

Some popular kids grow up and realise how different the real world is and not everyone will be hovering around them.

That they won't always win and dominate.

Some smart folks will forever identify themselves with a tag of their institute or designation because it's the only identity they resonate with and feel proud of. They're too worked up to look into the entire universe inside them.

And then there's us - in the middle of nowhere. 

You might not know it yet, but it is people like you and me who are willing to take the road less taken. It's easier for us to experiment with random things because we don't do it to win.

We do it because we want to.

And that energy changes the entire game.

Trust me - reframe your mind and turn it into your superpower. 

Being average in school has nothing to do with the real world. Take it from someone average and is doing pretty okay because of working on my mindset and self-talk, which helped me tap into my potential that I didn't know existed.

I never thought of starting a business because everyone in my family has a normal job. Most people around me who do a biz have their family in business to guide them.

However, the internet has some unbelievable advantages:

🏠  Capital: You don't need to invest in land or rent, all you need is your laptop and an internet connection.

⚖ Scale: You don't need to worry about logistics and deliveries. You can scale effortlessly. A product's effort to reach one person is the same as reaching 100K folks.

📈 Growth: Keep building your product brand or run ads (I don't do the latter), and you keep growing.

🗺 Location independent: I have made sales in countries I hadn't even heard of! It literally doesn't get better than this.

It's never been THIS easy to start an online biz. 

All your answers are on the internet already. And if you have the resources, invest in books, guides, courses, and consultations to speed up the process.

The only catch - it takes time to grow and compound. But what doesn't?

If it wasn't for this opportunity we have today, I'd have to wait a decade to be financially independent 🙄

Here’s my 15-minute Sunday evening routine that helps me for the week ahead. Before that…

You’re probably wondering why you need it. It will help you:

- plan instead of start the week aimlessly 
- prepare for your tasks 
- stay aligned to goals

Moreover, it also helps you pivot when needed. Because how else will you get closer to your goals if you aren’t  evaluating the progress consistently?

Here is my winning routine. Every Sunday, I write down:

- my wins
- my challenges 
- what worked and what didn’t
- what wasn’t easy but I pushed through 

Apart from that, for the coming days week I list down:

- top 3 work and personal priorities
- how I’m planning to ace them
- work goals

And I scribble anything else I feel like + put cute stickers.

I worked a bit from my phone and am working for an hour today because I’m holding 1-1s with applicants of Internet Business Mastery Program, so gotta schedule them calls for the week ahead. Something new in store hehe. 

I promise you doing the above for a few weeks will make you feel more aligned. 

It works better if you have your yearly goals written down. If you don’t, it’s never too late. The best time is always now :)

Here's something that will help me make extra cash with my products, but I refuse to do. It's what most people out there are doing it. Can you guess it?

Answer: selling templates.

Templates to
• succeed
• go viral
• get a job

And whatnot.

This reminds me of the world-famous template that is failing and leaving more people unhappy than ever before:

• study hard in school and don't pursue hobbies
• pick up a degree you don't enjoy studying
• you will get a 'safe job' 
• + happily ever after

For many, the job isn't fun and life is dissatisfying. Moreover, our dreams are crushed.

This is why templates don't work. 

YOUR definition of success could differ from mine and those around you.

One of my friends loves being busy (12-hour workdays, intense 2.5-hour workouts and whatnot). Another one is working 4 days a week and balancing housework the other 3 days. 

If you feel 'stuck', do this - find your definitions of happiness and success.

And pursue that relentlessly. 

It will be fun, it will be difficult, but it'll make you so damn content.

This could be the missing piece in your puzzle. Look within, find, and fix it.

I wish more Indians were open to talking about money. 100% of what I've learnt to run a biz online is from online creators who spoke about how they did it.  Because I'm lazy, I'm not gonna reinvent the wheel if others have made millions and talk about it openly.

It started with Tim Denning and Ayodeji Awosika who spoke about making money writing and were transparent about their processes. Then Jon Brosio who used to write long-form on freelancing. 

I used to read their stuff back in 2020 when I'd dream of breaking free from my job to write full-time. And I do so even today.

I then discovered Justin Welsh who changed my perception about running an online biz.

They all TRANSFORMED my mindset. I unlearned what I knew and learned that:
• I don't have to compete with anyone
• There's enough for everyone to win
• You don't need others to lose 
• Life isn't a zero-sum game

I feel being in an overpopulated country and for some of us we also had humble beginnings, we got in a habit of competing and saving. 

Saving our money and knowledge. 

(We still don't pay for books or courses even if they could help us make 100x back lol)

Competing at every step because of limited seats.

This is valid and there's a reason why many of us do this. But breaking free from this crab-mentality (google it if you don't know of it) can bring a world of opportunities for you.

I met Ankur Warikoo after that and asked him why didn't he tell us the numbers in one of his end-of-year income videos. I told him how helpful it would be for people like me to know where to divert our energies (for e.g. knowing what weighs more can help us get a direction). 

Since then, he's been displaying numbers.

(I take no credit for that hehe)

Now I'm learning immensely from everyone I mentioned including people like Matt Gray, Jay Clouse, Adi Verma and Kevon Cheung + more folks on Twitter.

I frequently speak about the bucks on Medium, my newsletter, and Twitter (exactly in this order) but this discussion still feels too much for LinkedIn, at least for me. 

But I continue on other platforms because I'm pretty sure they help someone who is where I was 3.5 years ago and help them improve their standard of living :) And maybe even achieve their dreams!

Later, I realised I wasn't content because I didn't create MY definition of things. 
 
I didn't want to be a VP anymore, especially because VPs around me worked for 14 hours, who wants that?! 
 
If you feel stuck, this could be a reason. 
 
Find out what success means to you, and only you. 
 
It could be 30 minutes of mandatory playtime with your dog every day followed by a weekend hike. 
 
It could be learning how to sketch. 
 
It could be starting an online biz and quitting your job. 
 
Don't judge yourself. You deserve better than that.

Since December 2020, I had a resignation email in my head. But when the day came, it took me FOUR HOURS to hit send. 
 
It was all planned out. 
 
I'd been side-hustling since September 2020 because I was SO done with: 
 
• long working hours 
• crap pay and appraisals 
• waiting for the weekend all week 
 
I also wasn't motivated to work because a promotion meant more work, lol. 
 
I quit to be a freelance writer.  
 
Today, I'm a full-time solopreneur. I work 3 hours a day, teach a cohort-based course, have pre-recorded courses and guides and write two newsletters. 
 
It hasn't been easy. 
 
But it's what I'd do all over again. 
 
It's also something I recommend everyone out there to do alongside your 9-5 because 
 
• you need multiple sources of income 
• lots of fun to do what you enjoy to do 
• plenty of money to be made in the creator economy

One of my mentees worked 7 days a week 🤯  He's 31, and he was rushed to the hospital once with severe chest pain. Luckily, it wasn't a heart attack.

His father is a retired Army colonel. He's the one who rushed his son to the hospital. Not just once, but this person got a series of gut issues due to a high-stress environment.

Mind you - he still took time workout and eat healthy food with this hectic schedule. Yet all these health complications! 

This is one of the reasons he quit his job and is working with me to have a successful writing career. 

I understand that start-ups are fast-paced and require more work, but how are people supposed to work if they're working all day every day? It's scientifically impossible to be efficient like this.

Science has proven that multi-tasking isn't for humans yet jobs boast it as if it's a superpower.

Science + common sense says that working 7 days a week is counter-productive, yet we have organisations pushing their employees to do it.

The bright side - this ultimately lets some dreamers pursue their dreams. To work hard so never return to this rut and own their time someday. I'm one of them, this is one of my motivations to keep doing my best :)

Though the dark side is more intense because these people are prone to terrible mental and physical health issues 💔 

It's 2024, I hope this stops soon.

Three myths that will pull you down, but you're probably too egoistic and are feeding on it: 
 
Myth 1: Don't share your secrets, others will start doing well. 
 
Reality: You rise by lifting others.  
 
 
Myth 2: Don't share your ideas, others will copy. 
 
Reality: People are too lazy to take action. Also, you don't get any award for your 'billionaire idea' unless you execute it. 
 
 
Myth 3: You need to have it all figured out. 
 
Reality: Start now, figure it out later. Just start, for heaven's sake!

5 things I answer whenever someone asks me about making money online: 
 
1. You will never get paid because you want to make money. You need to put value on the table. 
 
2. If investing in you helps people make 10x back (or even 2x), they will. Be so good that they do. 
 
3. People pay for solutions. 
 
4. You don't need everyone to buy your stuff. Solve the problem for only a few and do a bloody good job at it. 
 
I'll end this with a quote from the Bollywood movie '3 Idiots'. It has helped me when I started side-hustling and stays close to be till date as a solopreneur, 
 
"Don't chase success, chase excellence. When you do that, success will chase you." 
 
This helps me stay grounded and focus more on the process (which is in my control) instead of the outcome (which I can't control).

I wore bright yellow tights to the gym today. My gym is in a shiny building that has lots of companies. My first job was there too!

Bright yellow because I wanted to try out the famous brand Lululemon so bad, but it was super expensive even at the outlet mall in Canada. I then saw a bunch of bright yellow ones for dirt cheap and picked one.

They look too bright, but they fit like skin.

I went at 11:30 am today after I wrote a few emails and had tea with mum.

I was walking from there to the lift and then the parking at 1 pm.

The lunch hour.

Lots of rush with people walking around. I got a few looks because I was dressed oddly, but I realised something...

I don't miss it at all. I don't think I can ever have someone else control my time again. Each time I've had to drive in the rush hour I'm grateful that I don't have to be a part of it.

Or 'rush' in any manner, because I live a rather slow day.

Yesterday, Mom and I went for lunch because it had been a while since only the two of us went. It's still not the weekend, yet we could do it.

Nothing feels better than owning your time and doing whatever you want whenever you want. 

If there's only one long-term goal at work you have to set, set this for yourself. Either by building something on the side or investing smartly.

I'll leave you with one last quote:

As someone without a business degree who’s running a business by working under 4 hours a day, I can assure you that no degree will teach you what I do.
