I am an accomplished executive turned entrepreneur focused on accelerating innovation between growth ventures and large corporations. As Founder of Alchemy Crew Ventures, I run R&D and adoption labs for Fortune 500 companies to evaluate, collaborate with, and adopt cutting-edge technologies from tech ventures. To make this happen, I also run leadership development masterminds with industry leaders and influencer marketing programs with big tech and small tech. With my team, I have accelerated over 150 ventures and sourced 50,000 startups globally. My track record includes startup financing, facilitating commercial engagements, and enabling successful exits. Exits include Fitsense-Zurich (2018), MyFutureNow-L&G (2019), and Tia Technology (EQT-owned) Sapiens (2020). With over 25 years of experience in insurance commercialization, go-to-market strategy, and SaaS platform deployment, I developed skills within the corporate venturing and VC spaces. I leverage my extensive network and industry knowledge to address the adoption gap and foster productive startup-corporate collaborations. I serve as a bridge between these two worlds, advising corporates on digital transformation while preparing startups/ scaleups to create and deliver value to prospective corporate partners. I am recognized as an authority on frameworks related to corporate innovation and venture clienting. My tech themes include emerging risks, AI ethics, sustainability and the future of work. I am a co-editor and author of the bestseller The INSURTECH Book. I wrote forewords for two books: The Future of Insurance Volume 3, and Momentum. At Bayes Business School, I teach FinTech Disruption. I contribute to publications and serve on boards and advisory councils. I serve as the chair of the ACORD Solution Group. I am a non-executive board member of the Women to Watch Foundation. I am the Chair of the Advisory Board of The Care Voice. I am a special advisor to a number of VCs. My awards and honors include the Insurance Times-Tech & Innovation Awards Winner (2018), Grant Thornton-Face of a Vibrant Economy (2018), Business Insurance-Women to Watch Honoree (2019), Corporate Vision-Venture Validation Firm of the Year (2021), Finalist Women in Insurance Perseverance Award (2021), Awarded Perseverant Company to Watch in (2021), ACORD Awards (2020/2023), Most Influential CEO-Insurance Corporate Ventures (2024).

🌟 What’s the biggest barrier to startup adoption inside your org?  💫 Many say that.... 1️⃣ They don’t need another startup scout. 2️⃣ They actually need a clear path from #pilottoscale. The Venture Client Model works—but internal friction can kill it before it starts. Which of these is your biggest blocker? 🌟 In 2025, your title is no longer your value. 💫 Long hours. Big org charts. “What’s my next role?” That’s not what defines executive success anymore. What does? ➕ How deeply you know yourself ➕ How clearly you lead with intention. Executives in transition often ask: ❌ What’s my next job? ❌ Who will hire me? Instead, ask: ✅ Who am I now? ✅ What future am I here to shape? That’s why I created the #AuthenticIdentity MasterClass—a framework to help leaders: ✨ Reclaim their narrative ✨ Align their skills with a new mission ✨ Lead movements, not just manage teams In a noisy world, authentic leaders aren’t just relevant—they’re rare. 💥 This month, take on your most important role yet -> CEO of your own identity. 💬 Which authentic leaders have most inspired your journey? 🌟 Are you ready to enter the #FlexibilityGap? 💫 I am thrilled to share that I'll be speaking on the #FutureofWork trends with Sterling Parker from Ivanti in an upcoming webinar. We will discuss the conclusions of the most recent 2025 Ivanti Report on the #TechAtWork trends. In short, what is the productivity dilemma facing organizations? Make sure to register below and attend this deep dive on June 16. 👇🏽

Ivanti's latest research confirms that the nature of how we work, and how employees want to work, is evolving rapidly. This leaves organizations and their leaders with consequential choices that can either retain or drain their talent. The main dilemma? Whether to RTO (return to office) or embrace flexible work. With office workers reporting a 50-point delta between the level of flexibility they have and the level of flexibility they want, today’s organizations are grappling with a profound flexibility gap. (And it’s even greater among IT professionals.) Join us for a live discussion with Ivanti SVP, Global Solutions and Services Sterling Parker, and tech ambassador Sabine VanderLinden, as they delve into Ivanti’s 2025 Technology at Work Report and explore how organizations can effectively support and secure today’s work environment. What You'll Learn: ✅ Key trends shaping work in 2025, including RTO pressure and the flexibility gap workers currently experience. ✅ The business case for using technology to empower flexible work. ✅ How to elevate your employee experience while optimizing productivity. ✅ Best practices for a secure and productive flexible work environment. People used to meet partners face to face Here's why that's not the case anymore You have a million followers online. But who's going to feed your cat? We're trading deep human connections for shallow online interactions. Real-world relationships differ from digital ones in 4 key ways: 👉 Embodied vs Disembodied: - Real: You feel energy, read faces, share space - Digital: Filtered through screens, missing presence 👉 Synchronous vs Asynchronous: - Real: Conversations flow in real-time naturally - Digital: Fragmented across notifications and delays 👉 One-to-One/Small Groups vs One-to-Many: - Real: Balance intimate talks with small groups - Digital: Everything becomes broadcasting to audiences 👉 High vs Zero Barriers: - Real: Communities require investment and commitment - Digital: Anyone enters and leaves without consequence Here's what we're losing in the digital shift: 1/ Presence over performance ↳ Being fully there versus curating your image 2/ Depth over reach ↳ Knowing someone deeply versus knowing everyone superficially  3/ Commitment over convenience ↳ Working through conflict versus blocking and unfriending 4/ Vulnerability over virality ↳ Sharing your struggles versus your highlights 5/ Investment over access ↳ Earning your place versus expecting entry The strongest relationships still require showing up in person. They need time, attention, and genuine presence. Your phone can connect you to anyone. But it can't create the bonds that sustain you. 🌟 What happens when technology races ahead, but trust, access, and regulation fall behind? 💫 According to the recent SAS + The Economist Impact study: “Revealing the Paths to 2040: Four possible scenarios for insurance," our industry could be heading toward a fractured future in which innovation thrives only for the few and protection gaps become systemic. “Only the affluent can afford private insurance… the protection gap widens considerably.” In #Scenario1, global cooperation breaks down. AI, quantum computing, and smart contracts surge—but only in select regions. Meanwhile, cyber coverage disappears, compliance costs skyrocket, and high-risk individuals are priced out. Insurance becomes hyper-personalized… and deeply unequal. To stay ahead, insurers must: ✅ Localize risk models ✅ Operate with regional agility ✅ Balance personalization with ethics ✅ Make access and affordability part of the value proposition 📊 This isn't about disrupting the status quo. It's about building resilience. 👀 Curious what else 2040 might bring? Swipe through the carousel for key insights from this first scenario. Interesting insights from Linas on whether AI truly reasons! 👇🏼

    Profile picture of Linas Beliūnas

    Linas Beliūnas

Apple just dropped a bombshell on the AI world: Apple’s ML scientists proved AI "reasoning" models like Claude, DeepSeek-R1, and o3-mini don't actually reason at all - they just memorize patterns really well 😳 We hear a lot about artificial intelligence that can "think" and "reason." But Apple's latest research paper, "The Illusion of Thinking," puts this to the test. And the results are a massive reality check. Instead of using standard math problems (which can be tainted), Apple’s team built a digital obstacle course. They took the most advanced "reasoning" AIs - OpenAI's o1 & o3-mini, DeepSeek-R1, Claude-3.7-Sonnet-Thinking, Gemini Thinking - and made them solve classic puzzles: - Tower of Hanoi - River Crossing - Blocks World They cranked up the difficulty and watched what happened. Here are the 5 shocking discoveries: 1. They hit a wall. Hard 🧱 → Beyond a certain complexity, every single model's accuracy collapsed. → Not just a little bit. → It dropped to ZERO. 2. They start “thinking” LESS when it gets harder 📉 → This is the most counterintuitive finding. → When a puzzle becomes too difficult, the AI doesn't try harder. It actually spends fewer tokens thinking about it. → It essentially gives up, even when it has the capacity to keep trying. 3. There are 3 clear performance zones: → Easy Puzzles: Regular LLMs are actually better and more efficient. The "thinking" models just overthink and waste time. → Medium Puzzles: This is the sweet spot where "thinking" models have a clear advantage. → Hard Puzzles: Everyone fails. The "thinking" just delays the inevitable collapse. 4. They can't follow simple instructions 🤖 → Even when Apple gave the AI the exact algorithm to solve the puzzle, it still failed at the same complexity point. → It shows they aren’t executing logical steps, but are still just predicting the next word. 5. Their "reasoning" is inconsistent 🤔 → A model could solve a puzzle requiring over 100 correct moves (Tower of Hanoi), but then fail a different puzzle that only needed 5 correct moves (River Crossing). → This suggests memorization, not a general ability to reason. So the BIG takeaway is this: ↳ According to Apple's research, what we call AI "reasoning" today isn't reasoning at all. ↳ It's a sophisticated Illusion of Thinking. ↳ These models are incredible pattern-matchers, but they aren't yet capable of the generalizable, logical problem-solving we see in humans. True reasoning is still the final frontier. AGI will have to wait until then. P.S. check out 🔔linas.substack.com🔔, it's the only newsletter you need for all things when Finance meets Technology. 🌟 Why aren't more insurers scaling AI pilots? 💫 ... Because trust doesn't live in PowerPoints, it lives in encryption protocols. In my latest #ScoutingforGrowth episode, I sat down with Alon Kaufman, CEO of Duality Technologies, to unpack how #homomorphicencryption can unlock the full potential of the #ventureclient model—especially in highly regulated sectors like insurance. 🔐 Secure collaboration without exposing sensitive data. Alon nailed it with this: "You don't have to choose between data protection and utility anymore. With privacy-enhancing tech, you can have both." 🤔 Here's the reality (no pun intended): When insurers hesitate to share data with AI scaleups—fearing leakage, compliance issues, or IP theft—innovation stalls. Duality flips the model: ✅ AI vendors don't see the raw data ✅ Insurers don't expose proprietary datasets ✅ Everyone still gets meaningful outcomes—risk scoring, fraud detection, even climate resilience modeling. This is precisely how venture clienting should work 👇🏼 📍 Buy what works, without compromising security or sovereignty. 📍 Build trust with tech, not just contracts. 🎧 Tune in: Apple Podcast: https://lnkd.in/ez8gcMQM Spotify: https://lnkd.in/enQHdvfg If you're serious about scaling startup partnerships across markets and departments, consider Duality as part of your tech infrastructure foundation. 🌟 #ShadowAI: The Silent Revolution in the Workplace 💫 AI is no longer just a buzzword—it's quietly transforming #HowWeWork. But here's the twist: it’s happening in the shadows. ➡️ https://bit.ly/4jeRbOj According to Ivanti's 2025 #TechAtWork Report: 📍 Nearly 50% of knowledge workers use AI tools without employer permission. 📍 38% of IT professionals are tapping into unauthorized AI—not for fun, but to boost productivity. 📍 Many keep their AI usage secret, fearing retribution, redundancy, or simply wanting to maintain their “secret edge.” This isn’t just a compliance issue—it’s a missed opportunity. Tech companies and employees, as wel,l are showing us ALL what AI can do: ✅ Boost productivity. ✅ Spark creativity. ✅ Enhance engagement. But without clear strategies, organizations are losing control of the narrative.💡 The solution? Empower your people. 📍 Provide AI tools that reduce low-value work and free up cognitive space. 📍 Focus on augmentation, not replacement. 📍 Build trust with clear policies and training. The future of work isn't AI vs. humans—it’s #humansamplified by AI. Leaders who embrace this will unlock innovation, resilience, and a competitive edge. The question: Is your organization ready to step out of the shadows and lead the AI revolution? Download the new report 🔽 https://bit.ly/4jeRbOj Let’s discuss below. 👇🏽

🌟 The European Edge: Privacy-First Venture Clienting Meets Global AI Regulation 💫 Regulation in Europe—whether in AI or climate—shouldn’t be seen as a blocker but as a blueprint for responsible innovation. The historic Global AI Safety Accord, where 50+ nations united to regulate AI for the first time last year, proves this point: compliance can actually drive innovation if the customer and transparency remain core to such innovation. In Europe, corporates are already vetting startups through a compliance-first lens—from AI ethics to digital privacy and climate accountability. This leads to: 📍 Smarter procurement 📍 Scalable, trustworthy solutions 📍 Real partnerships that last beyond PoCs The Venture Client Model, European-style, is precision-engineered for responsible innovation. And now, the world seems to be following suit because we really need to understand what we are getting ourselves into. #ventureclient2030 #AISafety #ResponsibleInnovation

🎙️ Excited to Share My Latest Article: Navigating Corporate Venturing & Venture Clienting in 2025's VUCA World 💫 👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/ejeauTWD Yep... Tomorrow, I'll be at Bayes Business School (where Executive MBAs in Finance thrive) to unpack with Professor Gianvito Lanzolla how corporations can harness startup collaborations to drive scalable innovation — a topic I'm deeply passionate about, as many of you already know. We will delve into corporate venturing and the venture-client model in today's VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) landscape because business agility is non-negotiable. The most successful corporations in 2025 aren't just investing in startups — they're embedding them into their DNA. Think rapid pilots, shared risk, and ecosystem-driven growth. A few key facts: 📍 $85.9B in corporate-backed startup funding in Q1 2025 (source: Global Corporate Venturing) — AI and healthcare lead, but every sector is doubling down. 📍 Venture clienting reduces time-to-market by 40%+, turning startups into innovation accelerators vs. traditional R&D. 📍 Strategic alignment is king: Companies blending CVC, venture building, and partnerships report 7x ROI and 74% higher new-product revenue (Yes, everyone.. It is about embedding an ambidextrous hybrid model within.) 👉 For fellow innovators: I dive into frameworks like D.I.V.A.A.A. (my go-to for corporate venture client model!) and share case studies from healthcare, manufacturing, and fintech. Spoiler: Sharing a little bit of Revolut’s AI-driven personalization engine? A masterclass in ecosystem collaboration! 🔗 Read the full article https://lnkd.in/ejeauTWD P.S. Huge thanks to Bayes Business School for my yearly invite — nothing ignites me more than shaping the next gen of ambidextrous leaders. 🚀 #CorporateInnovation #VentureClient2030 #GenZLeadership

🌟 My Personal Journey with Flexible Work 💫 Launching Alchemy Crew Ventures in 2020 was both exhilarating and terrifying. 1️⃣ We had no physical office as it was during COVID-19. 2️⃣ Our entire team was scattered across time zones. The world felt upside down, but we discovered something powerful: when #flexiblework is at your core, you don't have to ‘pivot’—you lead with agility from day one. Your team just needs to focus on outcomes. Why It Worked for Us: 📍 No geographic limits: We hired amazing talent wherever we found them. 📍 Culture by design: We focused on purpose and collaboration instead of proximity. 📍 Results over hours: We valued deliverables, not desk time. For those we work with, the data speaks volumes. I have to say that, still today, it astonishes me that 75% of workers say flexibility is ‘high value’ or ‘essential,’ yet nearly half still feel pressured to return to an office. If the future is clearly leaned toward freedom and trust, why are we resisting? My Call to Leaders 👇🏼 Let's stop fixating on where our teams are sitting and start asking: How do we build cultures that adapt and evolve? A great team is defined by its results, not the hours spent under fluorescent lights. Dive Deeper 👇🏼 For more on productivity, retention, and the tech that’s redefining hybrid teams, check out the latest Ivanti #TechAtWork report, which dives nicely into those emerging trends... 👉🏽 https://bit.ly/4jeRbOj Then join us on 11 June for our 1st chat on #RemoteLeadership... 👉🏽 https://bit.ly/4kCfQOb

🌟 Dubai colleagues: Are AI-powered fines real in your world? 💫 I recently read that #Dubai is redefining its law enforcement. It’s new #AI-powered radar systems can detect 8 major violations at the same time and issue real-time penalties. While the current system’s visuals look very traditional. What about the scenario below. I saw this recent video from #fewdiscovery showcases how the city is integrating AI and robotics into policing. From autonomous patrols to real-time fine issuance. This scenario could drive efficient and yield to a paradigm shift in governance potentially. Wake-up call? While many cities debate the ethics of surveillance, Dubai is operationalizing it. The question isn’t if this model will spread, but how quickly within emerging #SmartCities. Are we prepared for the implications? Enjoy the video scenario below 👇🏾

🌟 The robot carried the bottles. Then, it takes the cart. Why? 💫 1️⃣ It didn’t learn context. 2️⃣ It didn’t question purpose. 3️⃣ It simply executed. This is the paradox of AI. AI is brilliant at doing. But it still takes a human to decide why something should be done. In boardrooms, many still fear AI will replace us. But the question is: replace us at what? 📍 At repetition? Yes. 📍 At reasoned judgment? Not yet. 📍At moral discernment? Definitely not. AI accelerates execution. Humans orchestrate meaning. So if you’re only training your teams to do tasks, you’re training them to be replaced. But if you’re cultivating their ability to imagine, instruct, and interpret—you’re building irreplaceable capital. This isn’t a battle of humans vs AI. It’s a wake-up call for leaders: 💥 Do your people know how to lead machines? 💥 Are they becoming the machines themselves? Time to rethink where we invest. This means not just in smarter tech—but in wiser humans too! #Leadership #AIethics #FutureOfWork

🌟 High-performing on paper. Unclear off the clock. 💫 Over the years, a silent crisis has emerged among top executives and seasoned professionals: 📌 Who am I when I’m not my title? 📌 What’s left when I leave the org chart? 📌 How do I lead without the badge of credibility? Transitioning out of corporate isn’t just a career move. Joining a new enterprise requires differentiation and uniqueness. Building new ventures in our AI-driven digital world is no piece of cake. It’s a psychological shift—a peeling back of layers built by systems, job descriptions, and decades of expectation. That’s why I’m launching The #AuthenticIdentity MasterClass this month. A space to: ✅ Rediscover your leadership DNA ✅ Align personal values with new projects, new roles, and new ventures ✅ Rebuild influence without the old playbook This is how we #futureproofleadership in 2025: with depth, not just performance. 💬 Have you faced this identity shift? What’s been the most challenging part? Share share share... your experience. 🙏🏽 Lisa Wardlaw and I will then share more on what we have learnt with you during our upcoming webinar. https://lnkd.in/eYxS4_Sr #LeadershipShift #CareerEvolution

🌟Leadership is not a destination. It’s an ascent—through uncertainty, complexity, and often, isolation. 💫 As I stare at this video where a group climbs an endless ladder into the clouds—I am thinking… Toward what? Perhaps China. Perhaps possibility. Perhaps the unknown. That’s what #resilientleadership looks like in 2025. You keep climbing. Even when the mountain shifts beneath you. Even when the path ahead disappears into fog. Because the world doesn’t need more predictable leaders. It needs courageous climbers. The ones who rise when others freeze. Who see altitude as opportunity, not risk. Who don’t wait for certainty to act. Tag your fellow climbers. ☺️ #Leadership #Resilience #FutureOfWork

🌟 Unlocking the Future of Insurance? Algorithmic Underwriting 💫 So this past week, I so much enjoyed my chat with James Birch from Ki that I could not resist putting a few words on digital paper. We dove into the fascinating world of #algorithmicunderwriting, and I couldn't wait to share some insights with you all. (Spoiler alert: a podcast session coming soon too on the topic #scoutingforgrowth) Imagine a world where underwriting is not just a tedious process but a seamless experience powered by AI. 🤖 Algorithmic underwriting leverages advanced algorithms to assess risk and determine pricing more efficiently than ever before. This means faster decisions, reduced costs, and ultimately, a better experience for both businesses and consumers. But here's where it gets really interesting: the ethical implications. As we embrace these technologies, we must also grapple with questions around data ownership and privacy. How do we ensure that the algorithms we create are fair and transparent? How do we protect sensitive information while still harnessing the power of AI? These are the conversations we need to have as we move forward. In this article, I explore not only the mechanics of algorithmic underwriting but also the broader impact it has on our industry and society. 👏🏽 Check out my latest point of view and let me know what you think.... https://lnkd.in/eyX6DEeZ Drop your comments below too! 👇
