🌟 The Future of Insurance is not a 10-year vision. It’s being shaped right now. 💫 This past week, I had the privilege of chairing and moderating the Reuters Events Insurance Future of Insurance Europe 2025 event in Amsterdam. 📍 Two days. 📍 Dozens of C-level voices. One shared reality: if you’re not adapting fast, you’re already behind. From AI-powered decisioning and climate resilience underwriting to embedded insurance ecosystems and digital-first talent strategies—the message was loud and clear: 🛑 Insurance transformation is not a tech upgrade. It’s a leadership overhaul. Here are three powerful takeaways for any executive serious about growth in the next 12–24 months: 1️⃣ Digital Transformation is a Business Survival Project: Christine Platiel COO of LiveWell by Zurich Insurance said it best: “90% of automation stops because of unstructured data.” The future belongs to those who can clean, connect, and activate their data—with purpose, not just tech. 2️⃣ GenAI Requires More than Pilots: One of the many discussion panels on AI, including Janthana Kaenprakhamroy, Erin La, and Karol Dobias, reminded us all that Generative AI only works when leadership understands it, teams own it, and culture supports it. The winners will scale AI ethically and practically—not just experiment. 3️⃣ Innovation Must Reinforce Trust: Vanesa Herrero CEO of Tokio Marine HCC International and Simon Wilson CEO of Markel both nailed it: “People still want to hear a human voice confirm things.” Tech should augment—not erase—the human contract at the core of insurance. 🔥 If you’re navigating digital, climate, AI, and culture all at once—you’re not alone. But standing still? That’s the greatest risk of all. 👉🏽 I captured the most important ideas from this conference in one reflection below. 👇🏽 Enjoy!
🌟 From Code to Conversation: The Rise of #VibeCoding 💫 Ever imagined building software by simply describing it? That's the essence of Vibe Coding, a concept introduced by Andrej Karpathy in February 2025. In my recent chat with Sara Simeone, we delved into how this AI-driven approach is transforming development. By shifting from manual coding to guiding AI through natural language, founders can accelerate prototyping and focus on innovation. While Vibe Coding isn't a silver bullet, it's a compelling tool for early-stage development and rapid iteration. 🎧 Curious about how this could reshape your startup's approach? Will share a little bit more tomorrow, but make sure to connect with Sara at NoCodeLab.ai
🌟 Why Venture Clienting Beats Corporate VC alone—In Numbers 💫 The most sophisticated enterprises aren’t just funding startups. They’re buying what works—then scaling it. And they’re doing it faster than you think. 🤔 Let’s break it down. ➡️ 18–24 months to prove value via CVC ➡️ 3–6 months via venture client pilots ➡️ No dilution. No internal resistance. ➡️ Just tested, vetted, scalable solutions If your innovation model can’t move in quarters—not decades—you’re not solving problems. You’re delaying them. #VentureClient2030 #InnovationToScalen #StrategicProcurement
🌟 In Cybersecurity, the Fastest Buyer Wins 💫 By 2030, we’ll face quantum attacks, AI-powered phishing, and a sprawling threat surface of 40B+ connected devices according to IoT Analytics. Legacy security stacks won’t survive that. Banks and insurers are already partnering with CyberTech startups via venture client labs to stay ahead. 📍 Zero-trust access tools 📍 Quantum-resistant encryption 📍 Real-time AI threat detection The winners? The ones who pilot now, validate fast, and scale with purpose. Here is the point transformation leaders: If your procurement team can’t onboard a #cybersecurity solution in under 90 days, you’re not protecting your future. You’re betting against it. And you’ve already lost the race. #VentureClienting2030 #DigitalResilience

🌟 Why aren't more insurers scaling AI pilots? 💫 ... Because trust doesn't live in PowerPoints, it lives in encryption protocols. In my latest #ScoutingforGrowth episode, I sat down with Alon Kaufman, CEO of Duality Technologies, to unpack how #homomorphicencryption can unlock the full potential of the #ventureclient model—especially in highly regulated sectors like insurance. 🔐 Secure collaboration without exposing sensitive data. Alon nailed it with this: "You don't have to choose between data protection and utility anymore. With privacy-enhancing tech, you can have both." 🤔 Here's the reality (no pun intended): When insurers hesitate to share data with AI scaleups—fearing leakage, compliance issues, or IP theft—innovation stalls. Duality flips the model: ✅ AI vendors don't see the raw data ✅ Insurers don't expose proprietary datasets ✅ Everyone still gets meaningful outcomes—risk scoring, fraud detection, even climate resilience modeling. This is precisely how venture clienting should work 👇🏼 📍 Buy what works, without compromising security or sovereignty. 📍 Build trust with tech, not just contracts. 🎧 Tune in: Apple Podcast: https://lnkd.in/ez8gcMQM Spotify: https://lnkd.in/enQHdvfg If you're serious about scaling startup partnerships across markets and departments, consider Duality as part of your tech infrastructure foundation. I was fascinated by what I learn during with chat with Alon. #quantum #ventureclient2030
🌟 #GenAI is not the future. There is no doubt! It’s happening now... 💫 ... And it's already reshaping how insurers, tech leaders, and innovators work. Over the past few months, I’ve interviewed 5 top #AIthinkers on the #ScoutingforGrowth podcast. The message from all of them? 👉 This wave won’t wait. And it won’t look like the last one. From agentic AI co-workers and underwriting “brains” to vibe coding and no-code product founders… this tech isn’t coming for us—it’s coming with us. But here’s the catch: ✅ Trust must be earned. ✅ Governance can’t be an afterthought. ✅ Talent strategies need a total rethink. I’ve distilled these conversations into one super sharp and short newsletter👇🏼 for executives who want to lead in this AI era—not play catch-up. It’s 5 perspectives. One clear message: 1️⃣ Augment. 2️⃣ Don’t JUST automate. 3️⃣ Rethink. 4️⃣ Don’t JUST retrofit. 📩 Read the whole piece and then tell me what you this 👇
🌟 Stop Investing in Innovation Theatre. Start Buying What Works. 💫 I remember those days when I delivered acceleration programs, over five years ago. At the time, many corporations still thought the future was built through equity stakes and flashy demo days. Reality check: That playbook is broken. The #VentureClientModel flips the script. 📌 Startups get what they actually need: a real customer 📌 Corporations get what they desperately want: faster, lower-risk innovation This month, I’m going deep. 💥 30 days. 👩🏽💻 Real data. ✍ Tangible use cases. A new blueprint for commercialization that delivers. This is for the CDOs, CFOs, CIOs, and CEOs tired of watching innovation budgets evaporate without impact. This month, follow the series via these hashtags: #VentureClient2030 #BuyWhatWorks #InnovationToScale #ScoutingforGrowth

🌟 This isn't a Silicon Valley pipe dream. It's enterprise-grade execution with proven results. 💫 Here's what Siemens did differently: 📍 They didn't invest first. 📍 They piloted. 📍 Then they scaled what worked. The numbers tell the story: 📍 78+ pilot projects executed through their venture client unit 📍 40% successful adoption rate 📍 $80M+ in financial impact generated 📍 70+ startup solutions scaled without equity Real example: ➡️ Konux partnership revolutionized railway maintenance ➡️ Started with targeted pilot ➡️ Scaled to full integration ➡️ Now delivering predictive maintenance across rail infrastructure 💡 The fastest way to get to impact? Treat innovation like procurement—not venture capital. Because smart corporates know: 📍 < 100 days from first contact to purchase order 📍 Zero equity dilution 📍 Pure business value That's how you build commercial pipelines, not innovation theatre. And Siemens still empower startups with its separate startup fund launched at CES in January. #CorporateInnovation #B2BScale #VentureClient2030
🎙️ Excited to Share My Latest Article: Navigating Corporate Venturing & Venture Clienting in 2025's VUCA World 💫 👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/ejeauTWD Yep... Tomorrow, I'll be at Bayes Business School (where Executive MBAs in Finance thrive) to unpack with Professor Gianvito Lanzolla how corporations can harness startup collaborations to drive scalable innovation — a topic I'm deeply passionate about, as many of you already know. We will delve into corporate venturing and the venture-client model in today's VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) landscape because business agility is non-negotiable. The most successful corporations in 2025 aren't just investing in startups — they're embedding them into their DNA. Think rapid pilots, shared risk, and ecosystem-driven growth. A few key facts: 📍 $85.9B in corporate-backed startup funding in Q1 2025 (source: Global Corporate Venturing) — AI and healthcare lead, but every sector is doubling down. 📍 Venture clienting reduces time-to-market by 40%+, turning startups into innovation accelerators vs. traditional R&D. 📍 Strategic alignment is king: Companies blending CVC, venture building, and partnerships report 7x ROI and 74% higher new-product revenue (Yes, everyone.. It is about embedding an ambidextrous hybrid model within.) 👉 For fellow innovators: I dive into frameworks like D.I.V.A.A.A. (my go-to for corporate venture client model!) and share case studies from healthcare, manufacturing, and fintech. Spoiler: Sharing a little bit of Revolut’s AI-driven personalization engine? A masterclass in ecosystem collaboration! 🔗 Read the full article https://lnkd.in/ejeauTWD P.S. Huge thanks to Bayes Business School for my yearly invite — nothing ignites me more than shaping the next gen of ambidextrous leaders. 🚀 #CorporateInnovation #VentureClient2030 #GenZLeadership
🌟 The Future of Innovation Isn't Local—It's Cross-Border 💫 Climate, cyber, and AI threats don't stop at borders. Neither should your startup partnerships. The numbers tell the story: 📍 57% of executives struggle with global data quality 📍 $500 M+ venture capital leveraged annually through cross-border innovation 📍 50% + adoption rate for successful venture client pilots We're seeing it happen right now: 💥 IAG Firemark Ventures in Australia partners with 7Analytics from Norway to revolutionize flood prediction through AI-powered geoscience 💥 Siemens + KONUX partnership revolutionizes railway infrastructure maintenance through smart sensors and AI analytics 💥 DBS Bank partnering with Google Cloud and The World Bank for climate innovation through #Sustaintech Xcelerator That's the Venture Client Model going global—fast. Europe leads in ethical frameworks: 1️⃣ Advanced GDPR standards 2️⃣ Strong cross-border collaboration models 3️⃣ Mission-oriented innovation approach There is no doubt that the US still leads in volume: 📌 Largest AI innovation ecosystem 📌 Diverse funding sources 📌 Powerful regional innovation clusters Smart corporations don't choose—they leverage both -> < 100 days from first contact to purchase order -> $3M value generated per startup within 3 years... If your innovation team still thinks locally, your risk team won't keep up with global exposure. #ClimateTech #VentureClient2030
🌟 The European Edge: Privacy-First Venture Clienting Meets Global AI Regulation 💫 Regulation in Europe—whether in AI or climate—shouldn’t be seen as a blocker but as a blueprint for responsible innovation. The historic Global AI Safety Accord, where 50+ nations united to regulate AI for the first time last year, proves this point: compliance can actually drive innovation if the customer and transparency remain core to such innovation. In Europe, corporates are already vetting startups through a compliance-first lens—from AI ethics to digital privacy and climate accountability. This leads to: 📍 Smarter procurement 📍 Scalable, trustworthy solutions 📍 Real partnerships that last beyond PoCs The Venture Client Model, European-style, is precision-engineered for responsible innovation. And now, the world seems to be following suit because we really need to understand what we are getting ourselves into. #ventureclient2030 #AISafety #ResponsibleInnovation
🤔 Ever wondered why some startups succeed while others burn through VC cash? 💫 Here's the plot twist: The smartest corporations aren't investing in startups anymore. They're becoming their customers first. Welcome to the Venture Client revolution! Here's how it works: 1️⃣ Corporations test startup solutions 2️⃣ Pay for what works 3️⃣ Scale what delivers results 👉🏽 No equity dilution. No endless pitch decks. Just pure business value. The numbers tell the story: 📌 BMW's Startup Garage pioneered this model and supercharged their startup collaborations 📌 Infineon validated their entire venture client program in just a few months 📌 Industry giants like Bosch and Siemens are already seeing stellar results 🎯 For B2B Startup Founders: Stop chasing VC rounds if you haven't proven your solution with real customers. Your first funding round should be revenue-based. 🏢 For Corporates: Why gamble on equity when you can test, validate, and scale what works? The future of innovation isn't about betting on unicorns any longer. We have seen Zebras doing very well. It's about becoming a corporation's first customer. That's the Venture Client difference. 🌟 WE ALL know this already! You read my weekend article. 💫 The insurance industry is at a critical juncture. Climate volatility, social inequities, and regulatory pressures are no longer distant threats—they're immediate challenges reshaping our landscape. Our team Alchemy Crew Ventures and Insurance Knowledge Hub co-developed a course: "Embracing #Sustainability in Insurance." This program is designed for forward-thinking leaders ready to integrate sustainability into their core strategies, not just as a compliance measure, but as a catalyst for innovation and resilience. (Guess what: Every CEO will indeed have to become CSO!) Explore the course here: https://lnkd.in/eqT4zQir Then read my latest article! I delve into the pressing need for sustainable practices in insurance, highlighting the financial and societal risks of inaction. This article will serve as a call to action for those leaders who understand that the #futureofinsurance depends on our ability to "adapt and lead." 🌟 What’s the biggest barrier to startup adoption inside your org? 💫 Many say that.... 1️⃣ They don’t need another startup scout. 2️⃣ They actually need a clear path from #pilottoscale. The Venture Client Model works—but internal friction can kill it before it starts. Which of these is your biggest blocker? Vote & share your war stories 👇 #VentureClient2030 #CorporateVenturing #StartupAdoption
If your procurement team still sees startups as high-risk vendors, they’re part of the problem. Innovation won’t scale through wishful thinking. It scales through systems. Structured pilots. Lean evaluation cycles. Integration-ready startups. Welcome to the #VentureClient Model. By 2030, procurement is no longer a blocker to access innovative and digitally transformative concept. It’s a blueprint.
🌟Leadership is not a destination. It’s an ascent—through uncertainty, complexity, and often, isolation. 💫 As I stare at this video where a group climbs an endless ladder into the clouds—I am thinking… Toward what? Perhaps China. Perhaps possibility. Perhaps the unknown. That’s what #resilientleadership looks like in 2025. You keep climbing. Even when the mountain shifts beneath you. Even when the path ahead disappears into fog. Because the world doesn’t need more predictable leaders. It needs courageous climbers. The ones who rise when others freeze. Who see altitude as opportunity, not risk. Who don’t wait for certainty to act. Tag your fellow climbers. ☺️ #Leadership #Resilience #FutureOfWork
🌟 Dubai colleagues: Are AI-powered fines real in your world? 💫 I recently read that #Dubai is redefining its law enforcement. It’s new #AI-powered radar systems can detect 8 major violations at the same time and issue real-time penalties. While the current system’s visuals look very traditional. What about the scenario below. I saw this recent video from #fewdiscovery showcases how the city is integrating AI and robotics into policing. From autonomous patrols to real-time fine issuance. This scenario could drive efficient and yield to a paradigm shift in governance potentially. Wake-up call? While many cities debate the ethics of surveillance, Dubai is operationalizing it. The question isn’t if this model will spread, but how quickly within emerging #SmartCities. Are we prepared for the implications? Enjoy the video scenario below 👇🏾
🌟 Unlocking the Future of Insurance? Algorithmic Underwriting 💫 So this past week, I so much enjoyed my chat with James Birch from Ki that I could not resist putting a few words on digital paper. We dove into the fascinating world of #algorithmicunderwriting, and I couldn't wait to share some insights with you all. (Spoiler alert: a podcast session coming soon too on the topic #scoutingforgrowth) Imagine a world where underwriting is not just a tedious process but a seamless experience powered by AI. 🤖 Algorithmic underwriting leverages advanced algorithms to assess risk and determine pricing more efficiently than ever before. This means faster decisions, reduced costs, and ultimately, a better experience for both businesses and consumers. But here's where it gets really interesting: the ethical implications. As we embrace these technologies, we must also grapple with questions around data ownership and privacy. How do we ensure that the algorithms we create are fair and transparent? How do we protect sensitive information while still harnessing the power of AI? These are the conversations we need to have as we move forward. In this article, I explore not only the mechanics of algorithmic underwriting but also the broader impact it has on our industry and society. 👏🏽 Check out my latest point of view and let me know what you think.... https://lnkd.in/eyX6DEeZ Drop your comments below too! 👇
