LLM Optimization is not SEO Here are 5 reasons why 1. LLMs do not search There are LLMs that literally did not touch the internet Now, some LLMs use the internet as training data SEO is purely based on the internet LLMs are not 2. User behavior SEO relies on user experience LLMs prioritize well-structured, clear, and context-rich content (not necessarily what ranks in Google's top results) 3. Low orverlap in results Ranking high on with SEO might not translate on mentions on LLMs If SEO and LLMs were the same, citations and rankings will be 99% similar They aren't 4. Content Preference LLM prefer editorial, in-depth guides, and "how-to" content In SEO you win with brand-heavy content 5. Design vs Content With SEO you better have a great design to enhance content engagement LLMs are fine with a well structured markdown text and context-rich content 6. Ads-revenue Focus SEO is Google, Google is an ads company LLMs make money with subscriptions Results will be different just because their business model 7. Visibility in Different Funnels Google’s SERP is still critical ChatGPT is now a major player in the discovery process 8. Opportunity for Smaller Brands On SEO big brands with high domain authority will always win LLMs give a chance to smaller brands with detailed, clear content that can be cited more frequently, even if they lack Google's authority rankings LLMs to me means more opportunities An actual chance to take down Google's monopoly LLM optimization is kind of "SEO against the machine" The machine being Google Not that I am changing my strategies that much But these are my thoughts What do you think? LLMs are a marketing channel Here is how to get high on LLMs I was messaging old clients Just to catch up and see how things are going I opened LinkedIn messages Started typing... I did a few check if they still appear on AI search engines Checked Perplexity and Search GPT. Perplexity usually gives the results more close to Google. Search GPT still handles search slightly different. But I found my old clients still there, in both search engines. I did not even check Google. I send the screenshots to them. They reply something like: "Yes, we noticed months ago." "We even got some leads from it" Check the image. There are 2 methods that will get your brand mentioned on LLMs: 1 - Quality content We did focused on creating informational content. Helpful content. Things that you read and say: "damn, this is good". 2 - Brand strength We built links and brand mentions. Proper ones, like in newspapers. PR. With or without links, brand mentions help to create authority. LLMs will take both: 1 - LLMs will learn from your qualitative content 2 - LLMs will quote you as a source of information 'cause your brand strength Frame the content correctly towards business goals...
