It cost my health to balance my drive and personal life. Literally. 
 
On December 8, 2020, at 6:30 AM, I woke up as usual, drank my coffee, and got ready for work. That morning, however, I developed an unusual headache, and my left arm went numb.  
 
By 12pm, the numbness had spread to the entire left side of my body. 
 
I called the ambulance that told me maybe I’m pregnant, or maybe I have a panic attack. They told me they only came to urgent cases and I should go to a GP.  
 
I went to a GP, got a painkiller injection. 
 
By 15pm, I absolutely didn’t feel my left side of my body and literally couldn’t move. 
 
Couldn’t stand up. Could use my hand, couldn’t use my leg. 
 
Tried to call the ambulance but they told me they can only come 1 hour later.  
 
I couldn’t wait 60 mins, so my partner took me to the hospital where I completely collapsed.  
 
They took me to the MRI to check if they have a stroke, but it came back negative. 
 
So they took me to the Intensive Care Unit and next day took another MRIs, and took a spinal cord examination. 
 
I couldn’t move, I couldn’t eat alone, I couldn’t do a single thing alone and I even couldn’t drink a single glass of water without somebody holding the glass for me. 
 
I felt extremely vulnerable and devastated. 
 
A psychologist visited me and told me I needed to prepare that it might be Sclerosis Multiplex, NMO, or something similar. 
 
We spoke a lot about a lot of things and she said do less, work less etc. 
 
My body started to react well to steroids so after 1 month in the hospital they let me go home and rehabilitation started.  
 
I had to re-learn how to write, how to use things, do things, and coordinate my body functions.  
 
I started to focus more on myself, cooked for myself, worked out more, and visited countless doctors to give me clarity on what triggered a spinal inflammation but there were no medical answers. They didn’t f* know... 
 
It took me 2 years but I figured out what was the real issue.  
 
It was myself. 
 
I was not coordinating my inner drive and energy enough. 
 
I was always competitive, and an over-achiever, but one day my body said no. You need to stop. 
 
But why I’m sharing this? 
 
Because society will tell you a lot of things that you should do, why things are happening with you, and what you need. 
 
But what you need is not necessarily 
- to work less 
- to become a freelancer and drink margarita on the beach 🍸 
- to learn how to cook  
 
What you need is: 
- to enjoy being imperfect 
- to embrace your weaknesses and bring them out in situations where they can be advantages 
- to find the environment/workplace/soulmate where you feel yourself valuable 
 
Stop listening to advice.  
 
Just keep it going and clear everything in your life/mind that doesn’t support you.

Here’s our super personalized pilot email-only flow we used to drive SQLs in an OVERLY saturated E-com market - where everybody sends emails, every single day at scale...

Here’s how we did it:

1. Estimated the Monthly Order Volume & qualified the accounts within seconds

We used AI to browse through the catalog and categorize the brands in the right industries. 

Then we used our conversion rate benchmarks to estimate the conversion rate for each industry and pulled website traffic from Store Leads and Semrush and Similarweb to estimate the Monthly Order Volume. 

Based on Monthly Order Volume, we qualified the stores at scale in Clay

2. Further qualify them based on products. 

Our client can only store a specific type of product in the warehouses. 

So we used AI to browse through the full catalog again and wrote an AI prompt to qualify the stores and return if they sell products we can store in the warehouse. 

If they sell products that require freezing, custom personalization alcohol, etc, we disqualify them.

3. Then, we also wrote a GPT prompt to estimate the weight of the products and disqualify if the products were too heavy.

4. Then, we scraped information about what shipping experience they provide to their customers and categorized each company into 4 different sequences.

Result? 

If their shipping experience is good, we didn’t reach out to them. 
If their shipping experience is bad, we point out the exact problems and offer help.

5. And because we wanted to reach out to 3 different types of KDM from CEOs to VP of E-Commerce to Ops, who have very different goals and challenges, we’ve built a script to personalize every sentence and CTA for each persona.

Result?

Identifying the companies who have a pain we can solve - without SDRs manually qualifying stores, their products. 

And sending genuine, and relevant emails personalized for each persona, instead of generic emails like:

“Hey, use our software”

OR

“thoughts on my last email”

IMO, copies are always super subjective and depend on the list you use and what you know about the market/what existing benchmarks you have.
