It’s really cool to meet Nick Velkovski in person. That’s going to be a great Clay club event today!
Hit our prospect's inbox - it's one of the 3 key pillars of outbound. You’ve heard these a million times: inbox rotation, warmup, email validation, no HTML or links, etc. But there are a few small features I really like on Instantly.ai that quietly help our emails land in the inbox. (I wanted to make a carousel, but brave minds love long texts.) 1) Smart Sending Pattern It’s super flexible here - you can set it on the mailbox level and the campaign level. The idea is simple: don’t shoot an email every minute. That’s spammy. 30 emails per mailbox per day, 8 hours - so you can easily send 3–4 per hour. That’s much more natural. 2) AI Lead Filtering Instantly has a lot of data. Based on previous campaigns, it can predict and detect behavior. That’s how it works: it flags “unlikely to reply” and “hostile” leads - and lets us skip them. We’ve started getting fewer unsubscribes and “stop spamming” replies, and more positive, appreciative ones. 3) Provider Matching & ESP Routing Emails go Google to Google or Outlook to Outlook. If more than 40% of our list is Outlook, it’s worth thinking about Outlook infrastructure too. 4) Send Only the First Email as Text Even if they say “no HTML,” it’s still HTML. But it’s the pictures and links that trigger filters. When a prospect opens our first plain-text email and doesn’t mark it as spam - our follow-ups are much safer. We can then add links or even light formatting with less risk of being flagged. 5) Inbox Placement Tests It’s a paid add-on, but super useful. We can monitor mailbox health in real time and check where emails are landing. Most importantly, we can act on it - remove mailboxes, pause campaigns, and avoid damage. That was long. If you made it to the end, congrats - you just squeezed the most value out of it. Any thoughts? (But no "AI-based" comments pls )
Pro tip: when you use "GTM" in your communication, be aware that for most marketers it still means "Google Tag Manager".
You don't need tons of tools for outbound 🤫 Here's what you actually need to get started: 1) Sales Navigator - if your audience is on LinkedIn, you already have the database. And the best part? You can see these people - they’re not just rows in a spreadsheet. Tools like Apollo and others mostly build their data off LinkedIn anyway. Plenty of filters available, including intent signals. 2) Prospeo.io - this is where you enrich your LinkedIn list with valid business emails. It’s a super smooth workflow: use their Chrome extension, export your list, and find emails in one click. You’ll get a CSV with enriched data you can skim, correct, and upload to your sending tool. 3) A sending tool - pick any that works for you. In this video, I’m showing how Sales Navigator search export works with Prospeo. Very simlple, very fast 🚀
Good copy makes or breaks your outreach 🚀 Eryk Lewandowski 🌊 and I recently took a weak cold email and rewrote it -separately - to show just how critical good copy is. Even if your email lands in the inbox, a weak, unclear, or boring message won’t get you anywhere. Interestingly, the original email was trigger-based, but I didn’t realize that at first 😀 – so I rewrote it as if there was no trigger. 👉 Swipe through the carousel to see: 1️⃣ The original email (yikes!) 2️⃣ Eryk’s rewrite - trigger-based and value-driven 3️⃣ My rewrite - general, but with a no-brainer offer and soft CTA This excercise proves: ✅ Strong copy grabs attention ✅ It builds instant trust ✅ It drives replies and opens doors Outreach isn’t just about sending emails – it’s about connecting with people. And it all starts with the way you write. Version 2 of our collab is coming soon. Curious to hear your thoughts!
A Polish 🇵🇱 company came to us after a disappointing experience with a local lead gen agency. They had been running campaigns for a month - a few replies, but not a single lead worth following up. When they approached me, they were skeptical. My pricing was 2x what they paid before. We don’t promise leads - but we do guarantee a few things: - Proper deliverability setup (your emails land in the inbox). This time I tested Maildoso infra - it worked out very well. (Shoutout to Jean-Marc Chamagne). Instantly.ai for sending, as usual. - Clean data, relevance, and careful personalization. These campaigns were multi-language, and we couldn’t have done it without Clay. - Copy that follows best practices and actually sounds human. We usually target (not promise, but target) 20–30 leads per month. After just 10 days, we handed over 20+ leads to their sales team. 14 of them are already open to talking. The rest are in follow-ups or pending refinement. We targeted Poland and a few nearby markets. It's not “100 leads in a day on autopilot” like you often see on LinkedIn. But it’s a big win for the client - and a restored belief in outbound as a channel every company should be using, regardless of the situation.
