I lead the No.1 accounting and advisory team focussed on venture backed founders. We are the preferred partner to VC funds and their portfolio companies, providing a bespoke, seamless delivery model from incorporation to exit. For over a decade, my relationship-first approach has allowed me to work closely with brilliant, ambitious founders of seed-stage startups as well as long-established businesses and high net-worth individuals. It’s humbling to reflect that on multiple occasions these relationships have weathered the entire journey and beyond. I started my career at PricewaterhouseCoopers then ran successful early stage focussed firms such as Acclivity Advisors. I am now a Partner and Head of Early Stage at Cooper Parry, within the Tech & High Growth Team. I wrote the best selling book 'The Finance Playbook for Entrepreneurs', so that entrepreneurs of ALL backgrounds could benefit from the very best teachings. Thinking back, I can see how my family-business beginnings have influenced where I am today, teaching me primarily how to spin multiple plates at the same time, but more importantly the significance of being surrounded by the right people. Most recently, this unique skillset has led me to a number of consultative posts with the Department for Business, Innovations & Skills, HM Treasury and HM Revenue & Customs. I consult on how Government should innovate for SMEs, entrepreneurs and in the taxation arena. These roles have shown me the value of sharing what I know beyond my own sector. So I speak, mentor and advise with universities and schools, particularly on entrepreneurship, as well as at accelerators and incubators on a wide variety of relevant early stage matters.
