At 35, I was at the peak of my fitness (or so I thought). Yet I faced burnout in November 2015. On top, I suffered from the aftermath of various sports injuries throughout my life. How could it come to this? I didn’t understand my: → Body → Thoughts → Emotions → Direction in life I felt there was more in me. More potential. But I didn’t know how to tap into it. Then life forced me to. My recovery journey put me on a mission. The mission to explore myself—my physical capacity, thought patterns, feelings, and values. I went where my intuition guided me: → Yoga → Breathwork → Mobility training → Rehab & regeneration → Mindfulness & meditation → Functional strength training → and much, much more As modern men we want to tap into our full potential to build something meaningful in the world—not only make money. Truth is, only when we explore ourselves holistically will we unlock it. I've learned valuable tools and solutions, so you don't have to navigate this journey alone. I do that through: 1. Yesterday, I shared a post. A thoughtful one. My own experience. Backed by science. Available to you. Yet it got blocked. 24 impressions after an hour. Maybe, LinkedIn doesn’t want you to be → Healthy → Resilient → Stress-free That was my first thought. Then I had another one. Because… It happened before. Every time I showed skin. And I wonder… Is LinkedIn se*ist? Because there are plenty of women out there who get hundreds of likes and comments even (or maybe because) they show skin. And LinkedIn doesn’t penalize them. If you think, “Why is he complaining?” Well… I’m not on either side. Not a feminist. Not a misogynist (that’s the “opposite”). I stand for equality. Equal rights for all. And since all my work is rooted in mindfulness and awareness… I wanted to share. Bring that to your attention. That’s it for today. Tomorrow I'll be back with an unbelievable story I came across. You won't want to miss it. Move your body. Fight for what you believe in. Thrive in life. — Markus
Munich. Winter. 6:34am. The room was quiet. My calendar was full. I had time blocked for everything. ☑︎ Workout ☑︎ Deep work ☑︎ Strategy ☑︎ Meetings But I just sat there. Staring at the screen. Thinking, “…” Nothing moved. My body didn’t want to. I mumbled into my beard, "I don't need more time. I need more energy." Most high performers obsess over time management: → Calendars. → Pomodoro apps. → Mental hacks. But none of that works when your biology is out of sync. Because if your nervous system is locked in survival mode, You can have all the time in the world… And still not do the work that matters. The “secret”? Doing more? Sure NOT! Doing less… but better. With a body that’s charged. Energy is the new currency. It all starts with regulating your body to balance your nervous system. ✍🏻 How do you currently manage your energy levels throughout the day? Move your body. Calm your mind. Thrive in life. — Markus
I remember Alex as if it were yesterday, Ketty. SaaS co-founder. Mid-30s. Highly ambitious. His wife too. And it's a widely known issue. For founders. For entrepreneurs. For ambitious individuals. That's exactly why we created this workshop.

Tuesday morning. 7:26am. He was already on his second coffee. Slack was open. His brain wasn’t. “I slept. I ate clean. So why do I feel like I’ve already lost the day?”, Alex said on our first call. He wasn’t tired. He was misaligned. I said, “No tool, habit, or hack works if you’re fighting your own biology.” The thing is: Most high achievers obsess over time management. 📅 More calendars. ⏱️ More apps. ⏳ More structure. But the real lever? Energy management. 🪫→🔋 When you sync with your body’s real rhythms? → Stress rolls off → Focus feels effortless → And you still have energy left at 6pm That’s why Markus and I are hosting: The Energy Reset: Feel Clear, Focused & Energized — Every Day (A live, 100% free workshop happening in 2 weeks) You’ll learn how to: ✅ Spot hidden energy leaks that drain your focus ✅ Reboot your nervous system in minutes ✅ Apply our science-backed reset → anytime, anywhere This isn’t about doing more. I caught something the other day. Pretty sick today. Sinuses, headaches, etc. No post. No engagement. Yet, I wanted to share this incredible piece with you. I'm proud to have her as my partner. In life. And in business. Since I learned firsthand how to eat my way I have consistently great energy throughout the day. No more weight fluctuations with the bloody seasons. And I can finally see my abs at age 44 (and that wasn't even my goal). Read this article. Give her a follow. I promise: Your future self will thank you. — Markus

We make hundreds of decisions a day. Are strategic with our time. Focused on our goals. But when it comes to food... it often feels messy, or just something to “get over with.” Most people think nutrition is about WHAT you eat. But the real question is: WHY do you eat the way you do? That’s where real, sustainable change begins. Not in food tracking apps. Not in willpower. But in self-awareness, identity, and alignment. Because you can’t build long-term habits if you ignore how food is connected to: ➔ your sleep ➔ your emotions ➔ your movement ➔ your mental load ➔ your stress levels ...in other words, your life as a whole. I recently wrote a deeper reflection on this. Sharing it in this newsletter today. It’s about: - Mindful eating - Intuitive eating - Mediterranean balance - Identity-based habit change And creating a healthier relationship with food — without adding more stress. If you're curious about a whole-person approach to food and well-being — especially one that works alongside a full, demanding life — this one’s for you. And if you want to learn more, DM “beyond food” and I’ll share more. ✍🏼 What’s one shift that’s worked for you? Or one that you would like to make? #holisticwellness #nutrition #stress #healthylife

Cold plunges can sharpen your edge. But if you're already in overdrive — they’ll snap you in half. What no one tells you: Stress + more stress ≠ resilience. I’ve hiked up mountains in blizzards. Skis on my feet. Wind in my face. -5°C slicing through my skin. At the peak, I stripped down. Stood still. Soaked it in. That moment changed me. Often enough. But each time, it was a ceremony. Not a habit. I was calm when I entered the cold. Rooted. Regulated. And so it built capacity. But what if your nervous system is already fried? What if your cortisol is chronically high? If your mind never shuts off? Cold plunges can backfire. They push you deeper into fight-or-flight. And then you wonder why you can’t sleep, think, or feel. What you really need isn’t more stimulation. What you need is a circuit breaker. A way to calm your system from the inside out. A reset — not a challenge. → Breathe → Rewire → Regulate → Restore This is the new high performance. And it starts with stillness. ——— P.S. What if your breakthrough isn’t in pushing harder— but in finally reconnecting to your body? Join me and Ketty for The Energy Reset Workshop. This isn’t another “hack.” It’s the one thing your nervous system has been asking for. The door is open: https://lnkd.in/eXsafUzQ
In 2006, Tom Boyle lifted a Chevrolet Camaro off a trapped cyclist in Tucson, Arizona. The car, weighing approximately 3,000 pounds. It was partially lifted by Boyle long enough to save the young cyclist's life. Medical experts later explained this. Hysterical strength. It can get triggered by extreme stress. And that is incredibly useful when someone’s life is at stake. But what if you do this every day? From 9 to 5? You hold things up for your business, your team, your family. This constant state of hysterical strength takes its toll: → Your cortisol levels spike → Your muscles tense up → Your heart races → Your mind becomes foggy The emotional weight is even heavier: → Anxiety about keeping everything afloat → Fear of letting others down → Guilt when taking breaks → Exhaustion that seeps into your personal life Like that Chevrolet Camaro, the weight doesn't get lighter. You just get more worn out trying to hold it up. The difference? Tom Boyle's feat lasted minutes. Your daily marathon of strength has no clear endpoint. And that's where the real danger lies. Because, unlike those moments of crisis. Where adrenaline saves the day. Chronic stress slowly chips away at your foundation. ——— P.S. If you live life on the fast lane. Between high-stakes decisions and the emotional pressure that just doesn’t vent. You need a valve. To recalibrate. To relieve. To reset. A system that works for you in the long run. DM me RESET and let's talk.
Challenge: Sit down & stand up (no hands allowed) It’s called the Sit and Rise Test. (I'm working on this with one of my current clients.) Sit cross-legged. Now stand back up. No hands. No knees. No support. Studies show this predicts all-cause mortality. Not VO2 max. Not bench press. Not your fasting glucose. Because this isn’t just a test of strength. It’s a test of neuromuscular integrity, balance, and adaptability. And here’s what I see in high achievers: → You deadlift 2x bodyweight. → You grind through 12-hour workdays. → But your system is rigid. → Your reflexes are dull. → You’re strong — but not resilient. There’s a difference between power and precision. Between muscle and intelligence. Between performance and presence. Functional longevity lives in the little things. The quiet movements. The micro-adjustments. The nervous system’s conversation with gravity. And it’s telling you the truth — even when you won’t slow down to hear it. How does your body actually feel when no one’s watching? Move your body. Calm your mind. Thrive in life. — Markus ——— P.S. I just released a 6-week program for high performers called The Resilience Reset. If you want more info DM me “RESET”.
I don’t want to be fit. I want to be: → Free → Resilient → Ready — for anything life throws at me That’s a very different game. Because life taught me the hard way: You don’t get that kind of readiness from sitting at your laptop 10 hours a day. Or from meetings that hype you up but drain your soul. Or from “bio hacks” that work in theory — and fail in your real life. The myth? That fitness is a silo. That strength is about the gym. That performance is about time management. But real energy — sustainable, powerful, quiet energy — comes from body-mind synergy. From training your system as one integrated ecosystem. So what do I do now? I train strength ↪︎ through range, rhythm, and intention. I use breath ↪︎ to shift states, not just fill lungs. I recover ↪︎ before I break. I move ↪︎ to feel alive, not just check the box. I eat ↪︎ to support energy, not dopamine hits. It’s simple. But not easy. Because the edge? It lives in the ordinary — done differently. What I’m building isn’t just fitness. It’s an unstoppable body-mind system. Built for work, for life, for longevity. You might already be doing the right things. But without synergy, it’s just motion — not momentum. Your nervous system is your OS (operating system) Eight years ago, I burned out. Not the Instagram kind. The middle-of-the-night-heart-racing-can’t-breathe kind. The kind that doesn’t announce itself with drama — It creeps in through the back door. One missed signal at a time. → Tight jaw in the morning. → Tension in my shoulders. → A short fuse with people I love. And a mind that never—ever—turned off. I was doing everything “right.” Training. Eating “normal”. Giving my best. Even meditating when I could squeeze it in. But something was off. And when it broke, I didn’t have a strategy. I had symptoms. A system (me) overloaded and glitching. That moment was the catalyst. Not just to get better. But to understand. To rebuild my internal architecture from the ground up. Since then, I’ve spent 8 years obsessively learning — → How the nervous system governs energy, mood, and recovery → How regulation isn't just for yogis — it's high performance tech → How strength, mobility, breath, and stillness are all one system And more importantly: I tested it all. → On myself. → In daily life. → Under stress. → Before high-stakes decisions. → During conflict. → When working with founders, execs, and purpose driven creators. Because I never wanted to end up there again. And I didn’t want anyone else to either. Till now, I haven’t brought all my tools together. But now it’s time for it. That’s why I created EmBodIQ. It’s not a course. It’s a reset. A system recalibration for ambitious minds living in overstretched bodies. We cover: → Nervous system recalibration → Functional strength and mobility → Precision breathwork → Somatic journaling for clarity and closure It’s about stabilizing. Upgrading the internal tech That powers your entire performance stack. Ask yourself: If your business depends on your brain, focus, and energy… …how long can you scale on a system that's overheating? ✍🏻 Comment or DM me “RESET” and I’ll send you the full EmBodIQ preview. The first cohort opens soon. Only 6 seats (special launch pricing) And if your body’s been whispering for a while… You already know it’s time. Move your body. Calm your mind. Sitting for 8+ hours? Your body feels locked. Neck tense. Shoulders heavy. The result? → Foggy thinking → Low energy levels → Difficulty maintaining focus The reasons: → Hip flexors tighten and shorten → Core muscles become inactive → Lower back bears the burden of poor posture. You’re not lazy. You’re depleted. Not physically. Cognitively. Neurologically. And it’s not your fault. As psychologist Roy Baumeister wrote in Willpower: “You can’t make decision after decision without paying a biological price.” This is decision fatigue. It’s why you can’t figure out dinner. Why your to-do list feels like a threat. Why you scroll Netflix and nothing looks good. It’s not about willpower. It’s about bandwidth. High achievers are especially vulnerable. Because we’re constantly deciding: → How to respond → What to delegate → What to wear → When to pause → Whether to rest → If we’ve done enough The more decisions you make, the worse those decisions become. Until you don’t decide at all. You just react. Or check out. → Another drink. → Another snack. → Another hour online. You can’t “optimize” your way out of this. You have to simplify. Here’s what I teach my clients: Small shifts. Big margins. → Decide once what you eat for breakfast → Limit decisions to when you have energy → Make rest non-negotiable, not optional → Stack your day around rhythms, not tasks → Build habits that decide for you Your nervous system thrives on certainty + simplicity. Your energy returns when you stop hemorrhaging it on noise. What’s one micro-decision you could eliminate today? Move your body. Calm your mind. Thrive in life. — Markus
The Mother of All Skills Strength. But strength isn’t just physical? It’s foundational! Your ability to ☑︎ Think ☑︎ Focus ☑︎ Create ☑︎ Endure All built on one thing: raw, unshakable strength. What science says: Stronger muscles = A stronger brain. Resistance training increases brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) — a molecule critical for learning, memory, and problem-solving. (Nature Neuroscience, 2023) Stronger people → Think faster → Focus longer → Handle stress better Why? Resistance training rewires your nervous system. To tolerate discomfort and push (or pull 😉) through. Bonus: Strength makes every movement better. → Running? Strength improves efficiency. → Climbing? Strength prevents fatigue. → Sitting for long hours? Strength keeps your posture intact. No skill exists in isolation. Strength is the foundation that amplifies everything else. No strength? Everything is harder. → Poor posture? Weak posterior chain. → Back pain? Weak core and glutes. → Mental fog? Low neuromuscular efficiency + poor circulation. → Low energy? Weak mitochondria from lack of resistance training. Most people aren’t tired. They’re just not strong strong enough. And here’s the thing: You don’t need to train like an athlete. But you do need to get stronger. How? 1) Lift heavy. ↪︎ Strength is built by progressive overload (body weight is great btw). 2) Train full-body movements. ↪︎ Squats, deadlifts, pull-ups, dips, presses (because life isn’t isolated). 3) Recover well. ↪︎ Strength grows in rest, not just in effort (sleep, stretching, mobility). What I tell my clients: Want to perform better in business, relationships, or life? Start with your body. Strength is the first domino. ✍🏻 What’s the one thing in your life that would improve if you were stronger? Move your body. Increase your strength. Thrive in life. — Markus ——— Curious? We’ve been sold a lie. → That “more is more". → That pushing harder, going faster, and doing all the things → Is how we reach the top That if you're not grinding. You're falling behind. No one wants to admit: Chronic tension is not a badge of honor. It’s a warning sign. I learned this the hard way. Years ago, I went to Rishikesh, India. On my first day of yoga teacher training, our teacher asked what I wanted to achieve over the next four weeks. Without hesitation, I said: “I want to hold a handstand AND get into a full front split.” Why? I’m still not entirely sure. I’d seen guys my age doing both on Instagram. It *looked* like freedom. Like mastery. And deep down, I still carried this pressure that my body — and maybe my life — needed to be more impressive. But I had completely forgotten what brought me there in the first place: → A desire to heal. → A longing to reconnect with my body. → To move without pain. → To breathe again. The result? No handstand. No split. But → Plenty of frustration → Another hamstring injury → A not-so-gentle reminder from my body: "Slow down. Or I’ll slow you down for you." So… Why do I tell you this neat story? If you’re like me: → Driven. → Disciplined. → Devoted to growth. But also exhausted (as I was). Like… You’ve hit all your goals, yet your back aches. You fast, train, journal… but still feel stuck. You meditate but can’t sleep. You don’t need another performance hack. What you need is a reset. So… If you’re a founder, exec, or high-performer under constant pressure You feel physically restricted, tight, or chronically fatigued You’ve tried meditation or gym routines that didn’t stick You’re ready to reset (body and mind) for sustainable performance I’m opening 5 spots for this beta round of The Resilience Reset. DM me RESET and I send you more info. Move your body. Calm your mind. Thrive in life. — Markus
If I could bottle this lower back pain cure I’d be a billionaire It’s primal. A fundamental movement pattern. Where you lower your body into a deep squatting position. While you keep your feet flat on the ground. Asian cultures do this for. → Rest → Work → Daily activities. They might not even know the benefits: → Decompresses the lower back and spine → Releases tension throughout the posterior chain → Improves hip mobility and ankle flexibility → Promotes better posture and alignment Try it today: 1) Start with feet slightly wider than hip-width apart. Toes point slightly outward. 2) Slowly lower your body. Keep your heels rooted on the ground. 3) Allow your hips to sink below knee level. Maintain a neutral spine 4) Keep your chest relatively upright 5) Breathe deeply and slowly to relax your nervous system It’s already free. Yet you get that bonus on top: The deep squat position naturally activates your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode) when you perform it with conscious breathing. Less stress. Less tension throughout your body. For beginners: If you can't get into a full deep squat: • Hold onto a sturdy object for balance • Place a rolled towel under your heels • Practice partial squats and gradually increase depth • Focus on ankle and hip mobility exercises separately One last thing... Please, listen to your body. Progress gradually. Stay consistent to develop the mobility you needed for a comfortable deep squat position. ✍🏻 If you want a short video instruction how to perform it for maximum benefit (beginner to pro) DM me "ASIAN SQUAT" and I send you the link. Move your body. Calm your nerves. Thrive in life. — Markus ♻️ If this spoke to you, please give it a repost, someone else might need it more than you.
