1. Design, manage and constantly improve lead management and lead flow processes and procedures through our marketing stack (HubSpot, Unbounce, and Salesforce).

Marketing Operations and Events Manager

Medata Inc.

As marketing administrator, I worked with team members in sales, development, and all other departments in an effort to garner new sales opportunities and improve upon existing client relationships.

Responsible for project management of a new corporate website, marketing events/conferences, and email campaigns.

I was responsible for the integration & maintenance of marketing automation platforms at Medata. We used Pardot and ACT-ON. I acted as the CRM administrator for SugarCRM, although we started in Salesforce.

• Managed and update social media channels

• Managed corporate website redesign project and engage key stakeholders

• Helped set standards for design in alignment with brand positioning

• Oversaw the functionality, layout and CMS for the Medata website

We’ve all heard it... "RevOps is just Sales Ops with a shiny new name," right?

Well, this data clearly illustrates that statement!

Take a look at the chart below. 

Only 9.44% of current RevOps pros came from Marketing Ops, while a whopping 30.68% transitioned from Sales Ops. 

Significantly lower, right?

And that’s where I think the industry might be getting it wrong. 🚫

A little over a year ago, I shared my thoughts on this very topic (👀 here's that post for a quick refresher: https://lnkd.in/gzQssPYc  

Back then, I was shouting from the rooftops that RevOps is supposed to be about aligning Marketing Ops, Sales Ops, and CS Ops.

It’s Rev for a reason—it’s not just about sales! 🙌

Sure, Sales Ops is crucial, and the complexity within the sales process is undeniable. 

But so are the handoffs—from Sales to CS, from Marketing to Sales, and the feedback loop that’s driven by Marketing Ops.

Marketing Ops teams have a unique advantage—they understand the flow of data through the entire funnel and back again.

If they aren’t actively involved in the RevOps conversation, you’re missing a huge opportunity.

In my mind, RevOps should be the umbrella that sits over all these teams—Sales Ops, CS Ops, and yes, Marketing Ops too! ☂️ It’s about making sure your entire go-to-market strategy is aligned and functioning at its highest potential.

So why aren’t more Marketing Ops pros being tapped for RevOps roles? 🤔

We need to fix that trend, and fast.

I’ve always believed in the crucial role that Marketing Operations plays in driving business success. Looking at the data from Live Data Technologies, it's clear that the MOPs landscape is ever-evolving and resilient in the face of challenges.

This graph vividly depicts our industry's journey over the past few years. From the steady growth pre-pandemic to the dramatic shifts in 2020 and 2021 and the more recent fluctuations—each quarter tells a story of adaptation, perseverance, and, most importantly, growth.
A few key observations:

The Pandemic Impact: The initial dip during early 2020 is no surprise, as companies re-evaluated their strategies. But look at the rebound in 2021—particularly the surge in Q2 and Q3! This is a testament to the increasing recognition of the value we bring to the table, especially in uncertain times.

Company Size Matters: Notice the diversity across company sizes—small companies (<100 employees) and large enterprises (10,000+ employees) show different hiring patterns. The demand for Marketing Ops professionals is not limited to any one sector; our expertise is needed across the board.

Resurgence in 2024: The recent uptick in Q2 and Q3 of 2024 is promising. As businesses continue to navigate a post-pandemic world, the demand for skilled MO Pros is rising again. We're seeing the market stabilize and grow, indicating that organizations are investing more in their operational backbone.
