I'm the Co-Founder of Wednesday Women and the Founder of Chief Evangelist Consulting: two ventures grounded in a core belief: community isn’t a tactic, it’s a force.

Wednesday Women began as a ripple in 2023 as a small, intentional effort to elevate executive women. We amplify women’s voices on LinkedIn, on stages, on podcasts, not as polished personas, but as their real, remarkable selves (the woman behind the title). Our public platform is for everyone, and we’ve built a private membership for executive women who want to go deeper with that mission and create connections both help unlock challenges but also are their biggest cheerleaders. 

Through Chief Evangelist Consulting, I help companies design community strategies that create lasting engagement. With 20+ years in customer-facing leadership roles, I approach community as a strategic lever, rooted in trust, value, and connection.

At the heart of everything I do is a belief in the power of evangelism, authenticity, and shared momentum.

And yes — I run on coffee, dark chocolate, trying (and failing) to keep me very vocal dog in check and talking loudly about diversity in tech.

If you’ve ever hosted an event…..

…..you understand the feeling of herding cats to a group picture (see pic 3) 🤣! This is the REAL version. 

…..you look for cues in body language and eye contact to assess if people are having a good time.  

…..you hopefully think about the psychology of an event and how that plays specifically into those attendees’ experiences. 

…..you get to know your partners very well to try to understand the spoken and unspoken expectations. 

…..you obsess over the spacing of logos, napkin color and table service.  

…..you consider inclusivity. Do you have vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and non-alcoholic options? 

Then you run your program, and wait.  

💜Do the personal DMs come in? 
💜What will the feedback surveys reveal? 
💜What will you learn from the feedback? 
💜How will you create the energy and connection next time?  

To the 21 women (including 10 founders and 2 amazing partners) who commuted up to 2 hours to get to the beautiful Wythe hotel in Brooklyn, during the busiest time of the year, thank you.  

Every detail obsessed over is minuscule  compared to the energy, compassion, spirit and openness you came into the room with.  YOU are the magic.  

And then I get this on a survey….

….and can take a nap 💤 on the plane home.

Quick gratitude post!

While I was “out gallivanting” in NYC last week, Melissa Moody was doing her magic.  

The magic is EVERYTHING!  

She launched our Wednesday Women Founders on Focus campaign which was super meaningful for us as a women-led business. And while most of what you see are the LinkedIn posts, what goes on behind the scenes is far greater.

There is communication to the women we’re featuring, introducing them to each other via LinkedIn and email building mini-communities, making edits, answering questions and working with our partners.  

Then there is regular work, which she also stepped in to help me with. Answering emails, having Member calls, working with the team.  Surviving two snow days, picking up kids and all the other things that women founders do every day.  

Oh, and reminding me to focus on my tasks at hand and not worry about the other stuff. 

So while she wasn’t featured in our series, she certainly deserved to be. If you’re not following Melissa Moody, I would highly recommend it. 

Also, if you’re looking for a silly holiday joke, she seems to be full of them these days 🤣🤣🤣.  Recommend asking her about that as well. 💜

Coworking and lunch were fab.  There’s just something about working in person (occasionally, don’t get it twisted, I’m still a WFH gal) with some brilliant women that’s invigorating. 

Then dinner with our Wednesday Women members that were in town.  I mean if you’re in Italy, jet lagged from the Philippines or in Austin I can’t fault you for not attending.   

We spent a lot of the night celebrating wins big abd small.  This is a core tenant if WW.

AI feels big.

At a Wednesday Women dinner last month, I sat next to Dominique Levin (yes, I made the seating chart and probably did this on purpose 😇). Within minutes I knew she was one of those people who thinks big. She told me about AICircles.org, the nonprofit she co-founded to make practical AI education accessible, hands-on, and genuinely community-driven.

I often call my career the “long and winding road”.  

Retail
Small business 
Entrepreneur 
Stay-at-home mom
Tier 1 support at a tech company 
Get promoted to VP over 5 years 
Relocated my whole family to Dallas 
Let go 8 months later 
Go back to parent company 
New tech company, but, ya know, Covid. 
Fall in love with community 
Entrepreneur 
Accidental entrepreneur again 

But I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be and I’m so grateful. 

I’m excited about Jen Spencer’s book, Lead Anyway, as every chapter title sounds like one step in my journey.  Non-linear, non-conformative and lots of lessons along the way.  

Here’s to the unvarnished truth about many women’s journey into leadership.

Interesting…. 9. Just 9? 

⭐️Let’s say someone created a list of women in investing…….🙋‍♀️

*I have no idea if they want to be pitched. 
*I have no idea if all of the women are the ones that should be pitched. 
*Potentially there’s some out of date info as I’ve added to this list over the course of 2+ years. 

So there are all my caveats. 

But let’s just say this list contains…

…733 names! 

So it’s safe to assume that more than 9 or 17% should be the answer. 

Visibility matters.
