When I was in high school, I struggled to find enough money to buy a pretzel. I’ve tried to fit in the world by constant experimentation. I had around 17 jobs before building companies. I’ve been a butcher for 2 hours. I sold cookbooks on the street. And life insurance after that. DJ at two radio stations. Optometrist. Sales trainer. Web designer. Bit by bit, I’ve realized that I have a passion for building systems, discovering how to improve things, and inspiring others. My first startup was one of the first internet service providers in my home city, Bucharest. The motivation was to play Starcraft with a broadband connection:) No pain, no gain, right? After the exit from that company, I burned all my money + got a loan to build a web design company in the b2b space. More expensive than an MBA. But more valuable, also. My 3rd company became the largest online car insurance player in Romania: we got from 0 to 250k customers with an initial investment of only $700. After a few years, I got to understand the game of eCommerce. I burned a ton on ads and learned about the principles of conversion rate optimization and customer lifetime value. Thanks to that experience, I am now crafting a new category: Customer Value Optimization (CVO). Here’s the problem: Many companies think they care about their customers. The cruel reality is that they don’t. When their acquisition costs are going up, and they find that their business model might not work anymore, we help them realize they sit on a goldmine: their 1st party data. So, we decided to address this problem with a set of strategic initiatives: The CVO Academy. An online academy where eCommerce experts teach how to improve customer lifetime value in eCommerce. Our tech solution, Omniconvert Our product empowers retailers to acquire, segment, monitor, and nurture their customers better on every channel. Professional managed services We wanted to understand hands-on what it needs to grow an eCommerce. Our data-driven team offers solutions to craft unique customer journeys. Training other agencies: we believe that agencies should understand the big picture. That’s why we help them learn the CVO methodology. Omniconvert is being used by hundreds of eCommerce companies and agencies worldwide, like Avon, Orange, WWF, Tempur, Whirlpool, etc. On top of this, I am doing a lot of education, podcasting, and advising for brands.
