Step 1: Content volume that converts

We published 144 LinkedIn posts THIS MONTH. Not random content, everything's built around ICP pain points.

We're using Taplio and Scripe for inspiration, but we're analyzing what books meetings. We look at hooks, visuals, and formats from posts that converted.

August target: 175 posts. Why? Because the math is simple, more touchpoints, more conversations.

Step 2: Paid amplification with actual ROI tracking

$5,100 in LinkedIn Ad spend generated 155K extra impressions at $33 CPM. But here's what most people miss: we only boost organic posts that have already booked meetings.

We track which persona converts from each post type, then push those winning posts to that exact audience.

August plan: Same budget, more testing.

Step 3: Intent capture across every touchpoint

This is where most agencies lose pipeline. We're tracking everyone who shows intent but doesn't book.

3 years ago, I was still grinding at Worldcoin (crypto company from Sam Altman), I thought I had made it at 26, working for the coolest tech company in the world.

Here's what building AI agents for my business taught me.

Most people are completely wrong about this.

We've invested heavily in building internal AI agents at ColdIQ using n8n, and after months of testing, I need to cut through the hype.

Here's what actually works (and what's just BS):

1️⃣ Non-Agentic Workflows (where you should start)

This is basic AI usage. 

One input -> LLM Request -> One output. Done.

Examples from our daily operations:

- Prospect research: Input LinkedIn profile → Output enriched contact data
- Email copywriting: Input campaign brief → Output personalized sequences
- Call summarization: Input transcript → Output action items

2️⃣ Agentic Workflows (the sweet spot for revenue)

This is where multiple tools work together in sequence, with some basic decision-making.

Real example with a workflow we built:

Mine get 10%. Here's why yours are failing:

I run a 34-person agency and have tested every cold email "hack" out there.

Most don't work.

Here's how I actually write cold emails that get replies... and the 3 rules that changed EVERYTHING ↓

✅ Emails that start with real triggers

I get emails like "Saw you're expanding your team based on your recent LinkedIn post about hiring."

That's a real trigger. They saw something specific I did.

Compare that to "I noticed you work in sales", - which could apply to 10 million people.

Pro Tip: Use Clay to track job changes, funding announcements, or social posts.

✅ Emails that name pain + solution immediately

"Hiring 10 new SDRs usually means 6-month ramp time is killing your quota attainment."

They connected my trigger to a specific pain I'm probably feeling.

Then: "We helped [Similar Company] cut ramp time to 6 weeks using our onboarding system."

Solution + proof in one sentence.

✅ Emails that give 100% value upfront

"They increased quota attainment 73% in Q1 by implementing our 3-week sprint methodology."

Full value. Real numbers. Specific outcome. Stop holding back value, thinking it will book you a meeting.

❌ Generic template emails

"Hope you're doing well" emails get deleted instantly.

If I can tell you, copy-pasted the same message to 100 people, I'm out.

❌ Emails asking for time on the first message

"Do you have 15 minutes for a quick call?"

No context. No value. Just asking for my time, will get ignored every time.

❌ Emails without specific proof

"We help companies scale their sales teams."

Cool story. So do 10,000 other agencies.

→ Where's the proof?
→ Which companies?
→ What results?

Here's my actual template:

"Hi [Name],
Saw you're [specific trigger].

Usually, that means [pain point].

We helped [Company] go from [before] to [after] using [method].
They saw [specific result] in [timeframe].

Mind if I share the 3-step process we used?

Best, Alex"

Everyone OVERTHINKS cold email.

They think they need perfect subject lines or AI personalization tools.

But if you nail trigger + pain + value, nothing else matters.

The pain has to connect to their trigger logically.

And the value has to be specific.

→ Real companies
→ Real numbers
→ Real results

One more thing: Free work beats everything.

"Mind if I build you a custom lead list for your new SDR team and send it over?"

That gets replies every time, because you're solving their problem before they even ask.

Bottom line: Stop trying to be clever. Start being helpful.

When your email actually helps someone, they want to talk to you.

They track anonymous visitors and identify who's checking out our content, landing pages, or product pages.

This gives us a warm list of people who are already aware of us.

Even if they haven't raised their hand yet.

First-party intent can also come from:

→ Product usage (Common Room, Pocus)
→ Social engagement (Teamfluence™, Trigify.io)

2️⃣ Second-party intent: Champion job changes

Let's say someone loved your product at their old company.

They just switched jobs.

Now they're in a new buying position, possibly with budget and urgency.

Tools like Common Room and Unify help us track job changes across our network and historical CRM contacts.

We can re-engage with a hyper-relevant message, right when they're getting settled in.

Second-party intent can also come from:

→ Review sites (G2, Capterra)
→ Affinity signals (Crossbeam, WorkSpan)

3️⃣ Third-party intent: Research at scale

Most often, you need to go outbound into entirely new territory.

That's where third-party data comes in.

Pulling insights from:

→ Hiring trends (LoneScale, Mantiks, PredictLeads)
→ Tech stack changes (BuiltWith, Similarweb)
→ Funding rounds (PitchBook, Crunchbase)

OR from custom AI agents (Relevance AI, Claygent)

How I'd build a GTM system if I had to start from 0:

(The approach that got us to $500K MRR)

Most agencies run campaigns in isolation:- 

- Sales team sends cold emails
- Nobody talks to each other
- Content team writes posts
- Ads team runs campaigns

I'd do the opposite.

Every channel would feed the others:

1. Content → Ads:

Take your best-performing posts and turn them into ads. We only promote content that already worked organically.

2. Ads → Outbound:

People who engage with ads get added to warm outreach sequences. Not cold anymore.

3. Outbound → Content:

Objections from sales calls become content topics. Pain points become posts.

The result?

I burned through $15K perfecting cold email copy.

Here's what I learned when I focused on deliverability instead.

While I was obsessing over subject lines and CTAs, most of my emails were landing in spam folders.

I had killer copy that nobody ever saw.

But here's what happened when I fixed the infrastructure piece first…

I went from ignored emails to 800,000+ monthly sends at ColdIQ.

If your cold emails aren't working, deliverability beats copy every single time.

WHY DELIVERABILITY IS EVERYTHING:

1. Perfect copy means nothing in spam. You can have killer targeting, perfect messaging, incredible offers... but if your email lands in spam? Game over. 

2. It compounds everything else. Once your domain reputation is down, even your transactional emails start getting flagged and won't get delivered anymore.

So how do you make your email in the primary?

1. Protect your main domain. Never send cold emails from your primary domain. We use 70+ secondary domains to keep our brand safe and our main inbox clean.

2. Distribute volume across multiple mailboxes. Set up 140+ mailboxes across those domains. Keep it under 50 sends per day per domain. High volume too early = instant red flag.

3. Get your technical foundation bulletproof. Set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication. Without proper technical set-up, you're flagged as suspicious by default.

4. Warm up. Send nothing for 2 weeks. Use premium warm-up tools to build trust gradually with ESPs. Ramp slowly to avoid triggering their spam filters. Patience here pays dividends later.

5. Natural variation. Use Spintax or tools like Twain to introduce variations in your messaging. Even small variations help you avoid the repetition triggers that scream "mass email blast" to spam filters.

Remember, list quality plus message still matter most. Even with perfect infrastructure, if your list is off and your message is weak, you'll still land in spam.

Deliverability gets you to the inbox, but the relevance keeps you there.

Monitor everything rigorously. Use tools to track your sender reputation across all ESPs. We check deliverability rates daily (it's that critical).

Infrastructure gets you to the inbox, but your targeting plus messaging determines what happens next.

How to fix your email infrastructure

Consistent, valuable posts do the trick. Easy to say... tougher to do in practice.

- Recent funding signals
- Tech stack alignment
- Level of engagement
- Industry fit

Hot leads get the premium sequence with phone calls. 

Warm leads get nurture flow. 

Cold leads get long-term campaigns.

5️⃣ Find emails through waterfall enrichment

No single tool has 100% email coverage. We hit multiple sources until we get a valid email.

6️⃣ Contact leads using lemlist or Instantly.ai

Here's the key difference: this isn't cold outbound anymore.

These people are already engaged with our content. They're pre-qualified and pre-educated.

The results are insane:

- 60% higher open rates vs pure cold outbound
- $80,000+ in net new MRR in the first quarter
- 25% shorter sales cycles

This is why we are super bullish with content.

We find that most agencies are doing one of two things:

a. Pure cold outbound (low conversion, feels spammy)
b. Content with no conversion mechanisms (good for brand, bad for rev)

This system bridges that gap. You're creating warm outbound at scale.

Every person you're reaching out to has already raised their hand by engaging with your content.
