My role requires teaching everything from reading comprehension to physics, essay writing to statistics, philosophy to biochemistry, and "how to rotate objects in your head, for future dentists". All Kaplan teachers have scored at or above the 90th percentile on each section of every test that we teach.

We work remotely and, frequently, synchronously: teams of 2-5 teach and provide live and email assistance to classes of between 20 and 200 students.

2. Stop The Bleeding

→ There are always mistakes.
→ Look for things that are on autopilot.

→ Make sure the number actually moves
→ Hooray!! You’re halfway there!

→ launched bundles on PDPs
→ Within a week 13% of all purchases were bundles
→ AOV increases!!

→ Time to go again
→ Now you get some leverage

→ send ads to an optimized landing page

8. Optimize Both Things

→ Now you can be tweaky

Here's how I make LinkedIn an automated lead machine (5 steps)

1. Make a truly valuable lead magnet

- Valuable to YOUR ICP
- Does your ICP really need another swipe file?
- Or do they want complexity removed?

Start with whatever you have lying around. 

But the better the lead magnet, the more leads you'll get.

My lead magnet is an interactive scorecard that tells you how to get your agency's inbound sales working.

It's personalized, relevant, funny, useful, and specific.

2. Post it with "comment to get" 

- It's cheesy, but it's the most predictable way to trick the algorithm
- You can get tens of thousands of views - quickly.

3. Use smart automation to send the content out.

- No one else does this as far as I know.
- I send you the content via DM, enrich your email, push it to my cold email tool, send the content there too.

4. Use the lead magnet for education and indoctrination

- A swipe file's fine, but better is a video series that shows your unique process

5. Invite people to live events

- You can invite up to 1000 contacts a week to events
- Again, this can be automated
- Use those live events to go deeper into your method.

(3 steps)

BACKGROUND:

I run a private referral network matching high-quality brands with agencies. 

My process is:

1. I speak candidly with brands about their requirements
2. I give some strategic recommendations, 
3. I recommend agencies based on my experience.

I take a commission from the agencies I refer.

But I charge all the agencies the same.

Brands love it because they have an advocate. 

And agencies love it because I bring good business.

Agency owners DM me daily wanting to get in. 

Here's how:

1. Become familiar with my business.

Typically, I refer to people whose businesses I know well.

So that's either 
- people I've worked with, or 
- people who've been through my agency coaching program.

Take a look at my agency scorecard and my course landing page to see if it resonates with what's happening in your business.

2. Refine your "zero-to-one offer" through posting.

If you offer something other agencies don't, it's much easier for me to refer to you.

You're the only person who builds subscription programs? Boom.

You work in a very specific vertical that no one else is in? Perfect.

You're #1 at a particular strategy? Amazing.

Sure - the bulk of your revenue might be the same meat-and-potatoes ads management as everyone else.

But I need some reason to pick you over the sea of other ads management agencies.

If you're struggling to articulate your difference - that's what I help agencies do.

3. Work with me in some way.

If I took a quick call with every agency who asked for a quick call in my DMs,

I would never get off the phone.

And I would never have time to speak to any potential brand leads.

The best way in is to work with me.

But don't work with me because you want me to give you leads.

Do it because you want to:
- Get high-value clients reaching out to you
- Clarify your offer and positioning to stand out from the sea of sameness
- Build an audit & close process that closes great deals fast

... and then, sure, I might send you a lead or two ;)

But by that point you'll likely be getting them from other places too.

DON'T LIE.

If you start your relationship off with a deception,

it will come back to bite you eventually.

Any brand with LTV knows this.

8 BIG problems 8-figure ecommerce brands have

1. Team is chilling

- All of a sudden you're a people business
- Once the business looks safe on paper, there's less stress
- People start doing the minimum

- All of a sudden you're doing "projects" to figure out numbers you used to have in a dashboard

- Want to make a big shift? Gotta get a bunch of people on board

- Internal drama can slow you down.

- The next customer is always more expensive

- Agencies just want a piece of the action
- You end up feeling isolated

But you're doing it wrong. Here's why:

We're all familiar with the "comment to get" resource giveaway.

Someone offers a resource, and you have to comment to get it.

It predictably goes viral.

One time I got 400,000 impressions on one post.

But - there's a problem.

You're using the wrong resource.

I see people giving away:

→ Swipe files
→ SOPs
→ How-to guides

And then they wonder why 99% of their leads are other marketers.

Guess what?

Your prospects don't want to know how you did the thing.

In fact - that's what they're paying you for.

They want you to eat the complexity, so they don't need a swipe file, SOP, or how-to guide.

What do you do instead?

Create a resource that:
1. Educates your target audience on your service
2. (ideally) ONLY your target audience is interested in
3. Is fun and easy to use.

You already have the landing page builder.

And the product.

And ads. 

So start ideating and testing it.

Here they are 👇🏼

1. Fix your conversions API

A shocking amount of brands are still using the native Shopify CAPI solution.

Even huge brands.

It's fine - but it's not incredible.

Blotout solves that with a first-party data lake.

The first question I ask is "what's your tracking situation".


2. Fix your creative

You've put a lot of effort into creative production.

You've got multiple sources, preferred creators, a whole system.

But often times, that system isn't making creative that's:

1. Funny
2. Useful to the customer
3. Hyper visually appealing

In order to do that, you need experience.

Ideas that other brands aren't doing.

That's what moves the needle - not a better tracking system for your assets.

They just expanded to a giant warehouse space. So they have some room to onboard new clients.

(disclosure: I get referral commission from both these people. I only take referral partners I can put my reputation behind and who I've worked with personally).

Want to sell your agency? Avoid these 4 million dollar mistakes:


1. Terms >>>>>>>>>>>>> Valuation

Which would you choose:

a. $6m over 3 years but you have to hit a number to get it. The number is not 100% your control.

b. $1.5m right away.

The answer is not obvious.

Agencies can change very quickly. 

Don't risk what you've built on someone else's performance.


2. Hunt before you're burnt out

The more deals you can look at, the better off you will be.

It's an exhausting and time-consuming process.

Once you're tired, it's too late.


3. Treat it like hiring

Most likely you'll have to work with your acquirer for a while, and you won't be driving.

When hiring, you should listen to the one tiny concern in your gut.

That "they seem perfect...but"

In my experience that "but" ends up taking over my agency and my life.

Trust your gut.


4. Get a $$$$ (four dollar signs on Yelp) killer team

"A bunch of SOPs and some VAs" is not a super appealing business, no matter how profitable it is on paper.

My life turned around when I hired expensive people who could do the business building for me.

They will keep it together during an acquisition.

You don't have time to think, eat a meal, or sleep.

I understand - I was there.

I've had writers who can generate good amounts of views - but not as many leads.

Or who generate leads - but the quality goes down.

There's something about writing yourself that makes the difference.

(this one's taken me 4 minutes so far).

But still - based on my calls it seems like most agencies want "DFY lead gen".

Even if it costs a lot more.

Here’s my problem:
