Monday meetings are full of clarity and confidence: “Here’s the strategy.” “Here’s the priority.” “We’re all aligned.” Then Tuesday shows up with reality: A fire drill. A curveball client request. A team member unexpectedly out. A miscommunication no one caught. And that’s when we learn what kind of team you really have. We’ve worked with hundreds of teams, and the pattern is clear: - Strong teams adapt. - Struggling teams spin. - Toxic teams blame. Planning is easy when the world cooperates. But leadership? Culture? Most people are asking the wrong question about AI. Yesterday morning, we had a vendor table at Florida State College of Jacksonville's AI + Cybersecurity event. Tech students and business leaders stopped by, each with questions that sounded different, but actually weren’t. Students asked, “What should I be or do when I graduate?” Leaders asked, “How will we survive what’s coming?” Underneath both was the same worry: Do I still matter in the future of work? That’s the real question. And it’s the one we help answer every day. If you’re a student, the job title you’re aiming for may not exist today. You are preparing for a future that isn't here yet, so make adaptability your top skill. If you’re a business leader, your strategy from five years ago, or even one year ago, won’t carry you forward. And you can't stand still. We've found that new tools don’t threaten your relevance. Your old mindset does. "Because we've always done it that way" is the battle cry of the inflexible, those doomed to fade into irrelevance. People don’t get left behind because change happens. They get left behind because they stop adapting. Our best, self-imposed AI advice? Staying relevant isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a daily one.
