//THE DAY EVERYTHING CHANGED It happened during a corporate innovation workshop years ago. As I watched yet another brilliant idea suffocate under the weight of process, I saw the spark fade from the team's eyes. In that moment, I made a promise to myself that would reshape my entire career. THE PATTERN I COULDN'T UNSEE Across boardrooms and brainstorming sessions, I witnessed the same story unfold. Brilliant minds with transformative visions hitting the same invisible wall. Their ideas deserved better. THE UNEXPECTED DISCOVERY What began as frustration evolved into curiosity. Could innovation success actually be engineered rather than hoped for? I devoted myself to finding out. Years of experimentation led to an approach so counterintuitive yet effective that it changed everything. By building innovations like a portfolio of startups, we turned the notorious 90% failure rate completely upside down. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT A prominent German corporation took a chance on this method when traditional approaches had failed them repeatedly. Within weeks, we accomplished what they hadn't achieved in years. Word spread quickly. Today, seven of Germany's nine most innovative companies have invited me into their inner circles. From global enterprises to nimble startups, leaders come when they need certainty, not just possibility. BEYOND THE METHOD After over 15 years and countless successful market launches, I still feel that same rush when I see an innovation finally connect with its audience. There's simply nothing like watching something powerful emerge from what was once just an idea on a whiteboard. My engineering background gave me the tools, but it was immersing myself in the human elements of innovation that revealed the true path forward. When leaders invite me to guide their most important initiatives, they're not just getting a process – they're gaining a partner who's navigated this terrain countless times before. I only commit to journeys I truly believe in, because I've learned that extraordinary innovation requires both methodology and genuine connection to purpose. //THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SKILL & EXPERIENCE In the business world, the value of what you provide is more significant than the time it takes! Here's a narrative that highlights this: A company's costly equipment had broken down. The breakdown was costing them much money. They needed to fix it promptly, so they called in an engineer. He looked at the equipment, picked up a hammer, and struck it. He then stated, "That'll be $25,000." The business owner was taken aback. All you did was strike it once with a hammer. The engineer responded, "You're not paying me to hit the machine with a hammer. You're paying me for my knowledge of where to hit the machine." Remember: "If I can complete a task in 30 minutes, it's because I spent ten years learning to accomplish it in 30 minutes. You are compensating me for the years, not the minutes." P.S. //BEING THE RICHEST MAN IN THE CEMETERY DOESN'T MATTER TO ME. GOING TO BED AT NIGHT SAYING WE'VE DONE SOMETHING WONDERFUL, THAT'S WHAT MATTERS TO ME. This famous Steve Jobs quote reminds us what truly matters isn't wealth—it's making a difference. Here's our approach that might surprise you: We're going to build 100 startups over the next ten years. Most people think we're just playing a numbers game—launch enough companies and eventually one will become a billion-dollar unicorn. But that's missing the point. We're not building 100 startups just to improve our chances of getting rich. Yes, statistics suggest that with 100 attempts, we'll likely have a massive success. But that's not our main goal. What we really care about is creating 100 opportunities to solve real problems. To build teams that go to bed each night proud of what they've accomplished. The financial success will follow naturally from doing good work consistently. While others put everything into one big idea hoping to strike it rich, we're creating multiple paths to make an impact. P.S. You don't have to join us, but remember—when your time is up, what you created matters more than what you owned. ——— Chances your innovation strategy is broken are 94% https://lnkd.in/dexsVrw8 #innovation #innoweek #venturestudio #companybuilder #startupstudio #vc ♻️ Repost to help your network to bring their ideas to market. //WHAT'S HAPPENING IN MY HEAD WHEN SOMEONE IS TELLING ME THAT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE When someone tells me something is "impossible," my brain transforms into a toddler who's just been told they can't have ice cream for breakfast. First comes the rebellion: "Watch me do it while wearing mismatched socks and humming the Jurassic Park theme." Then the weird calculations begin: I'm suddenly doing complex innovation math where "impossible" = "nobody's been stubborn enough yet." The funniest part? Half the time I don't even care about the thing until someone says it can't be done. Tell me I can't build a startup that delivers meditation services to stressed houseplants, and suddenly it's my life's mission. My secret innovation formula: 1. //BEYOND GUESSWORK: REDEFINING HOW STARTUPS ARE BUILT The entrepreneurial journey involves countless decisions made under uncertainty. What separates sustainable ventures from the rest often lies in the foundation they're built upon. When examining startup studios versus traditional founding approaches, several research-backed patterns emerge: _Studio-built startups demonstrate a 30% higher five-year survival rate _The average time to validate core business assumptions is reduced by 7.3 months in studio environments _Traditional startups typically pivot 3-4 times before finding product-market fit, while studio-created ventures average 1.8 pivots _65% of traditional startups cite "team gaps" as a primary failure reason - a challenge eliminated in the studio model What makes this difference? Startup studios leverage their own cross-functional teams of experts who build ventures from the ground up. The numbers tell a compelling story: _Studio ventures reach break-even 43% faster than traditional startups _72% of studio-built companies achieve their first year revenue targets versus _34% of traditional startups _Customer acquisition costs average 38% lower in studio-launched businesses due to specialized marketing expertise _Engineering efficiency metrics show studio teams deploy functional MVPs with 52% fewer development hours _The average studio has successfully exited 3.7 ventures, recycling both capital and knowledge The financial metrics are equally impressive: _Studio ventures raise 40% less capital to reach the same revenue milestones as traditional startups _Initial traction metrics (first 100 paying customers) are achieved in an average of 4.8 months versus 11.3 months _Studio portfolios demonstrate 2.4x the capital efficiency when measured by revenue generated per dollar invested The data clearly demonstrates that while innovation remains challenging, the studio model significantly improves the odds through specialized expertise and methodical execution. WHENEVER YOU MIGHT GET FIRED, WATCH THIS VIDEO 🔥 This is probably the most inspiring video, whenever someone does not believe in you. From complete destruction to rising as one of the biggest stars out there. This is the story of American rapper Doechii. P.S. Did you know that I have been rejected so often in my life, that I simply can't count it anymore? What I found is that there are many people without vision, without purpose, and without energy. They simply can't imagine that something you might believe in could become so successful because they don't believe in anything. Don't let yourself be stopped by these kinds of people. Simply believe in yourself. ——— Chances your innovation strategy is broken are 94% https://lnkd.in/dexsVrw8 #innovation #innoweek #venturestudio #companybuilder #startupstudio #vc All rights and credits are reserved to the respective owner(s). //THE FIRST STEP IS ALWAYS THE HARDEST. Just watched the most touching video that perfectly captures what we do at our innovation factory. A little girl stands before a stool, determination in her eyes. She jumps, falls short. Tries again, stumbles. Each attempt met with disappointment but never defeat. Then her father steps in—not to lift her onto the stool, but to offer just enough support so she can make the leap herself. And finally... success! Her face lights up with that magical mixture of pride and joy that comes from overcoming a challenge. This moment hit me hard because it mirrors exactly what we've learned about innovation. The statistics are brutal—90% of new ventures fail. But we've discovered something powerful: instead of pouring everything into a single "perfect" idea, we apply our rapid-testing framework across multiple smaller bets. By investing less in each individual project but running more iterations, we've flipped the script. After 21 tries, our success rate climbs to 90%. It's not magic—it's mathematics applied to innovation. Like that father, we don't carry our ideas to success; we give them just enough support to find their own way there. And when they do? That feeling is worth every failed attempt along the way. What challenge are you supporting today? Sometimes the greatest achievement isn't avoiding failure—it's creating the conditions where success becomes inevitable. P.S. This is exactly the stuff we help our partners with in our innovation factory. //SELL THE PROBLEM YOU SOLVE, NOT THE PRODUCT We don't buy products because they have the best specs. We buy them because of how they make us feel. Everyone talks about rational decision-making in business. But here's the truth that transformed Apple into a $3 trillion company: humans are fundamentally irrational. We don't choose restaurants based on nutrition facts. We pick them based on memories, ambiance, and that inexplicable "vibe." And guess what? The most successful companies understand this deeply. • Nike doesn't sell shoes. They sell the feeling of being an athlete. • Tesla doesn't sell cars. They sell the dream of being a pioneer. • Starbucks doesn't sell coffee. They sell a daily escape. The secret? Stop trying to win the rational argument. Start designing for human nature. When Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, he didn't focus on making better computers. He focused on making computers that people would fall in love with. That's why innovation isn't about logic. It's about empathy. Understanding not just what people say they want, but what they truly desire. Stop asking "What makes sense?" Start asking "What makes people feel?" That's how you think different. P.S. This is exactly the stuff we help our clients with our innovation factory. //NEVER ASSUME WHEN BUILDING YOUR STARTUP Most people rely on assumptions when they are investing in startups and innovations. They think that because they have done market research, due diligence, nice concepts and plans for the future, success will very likely follow. The harsh truth is that more than 90% fail. For de-risking your innovation idea today, it has become a must to test before investing. Otherwise, you might end up spending all your budget on nothing. What happens most in our Innoweeks is that we discover something totally unexpected when testing new product ideas with real customers. An early pivot drastically raises the chances of success. P.S. //TYPICAL REACTION WHEN A GERMAN INNOVATION DIRECTOR RECEIVES A FAX The video perfectly captures corporate Germany's innovation paradox - a cat (aka Innovation Director) frozen in terror at a fax machine's unexpected activity. Six sigma certifications, innovation workshops, and digital transformation roadmaps... yet completely paralyzed by 1980s technology making actual noise. "I've prepared 47 PowerPoint slides about quantum computing, but WHAT IS THIS PAPER-BASED INTRUSION?!" The truth behind Germany's innovation gap isn't complex processes or perfectionism—it's this primal fear response when theoretical change becomes actual change. Our feline friend represents thousands of well-paid executives whose job descriptions mention "disruption" but whose instincts scream "TRADITION!" Germany: Where Innovation Directors get seven-figure budgets but keep the fax number "just in case." P.S. As Oscar Wilde once said: "Sarcasm is the lowest form of humor, but the highest form of intelligence... and the only way to survive a meeting with German executives who claim to embrace innovation while jumping at the sound of a fax machine." ——— Chances your innovation strategy is broken are 94% https://lnkd.in/dexsVrw8 #innovation #innoweek #venturestudio #companybuilder #startupstudio #vc All rights and credits are reserved to the respective owner(s). //HOW WE BLOCKED PEOPLE BACK IN THE DAYS... Before "ghosting" was cool, we had the OG method: receiver off the hook, baby! That chunky beige phone in the picture? That's not a broken phone - that's 1980s "Do Not Disturb" mode in action. Taking that receiver off and laying it down was like telling the ENTIRE WORLD to talk to the hand. The best part? Anyone trying to call you got the busy signal - that annoying "beep-beep-beep" that screamed "I'M IGNORING YOU AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW IT!" Today's kids will never understand the satisfaction of physically disconnecting. No subtle "active 2 hours ago" status - just an honest "I'm deliberately unavailable and everyone knows it." We didn't ghost quietly - we slammed the digital door in people's faces and it felt AMAZING. P.S. //BE THE REASON SOMEONE SMILES TODAY 👇 There are people who are putting in their best effort, yet there are also those who are watching from the sidelines without offering any encouragement. It's important to consider how we can show support to those who are working hard. _Why not give them some support... _Why not clapping and cheering... _Why not give them a high five... Far too often, we simply take things for granted and complain because things could be even so much better not recognizing we are on the wrong track. _It's not about being the best in the world. _It's not about being the fastest in the world. _It's not about being the smartest in the world. //SCIENCE CAN BE SO FASCINATING🔥 Fascinating concept! 🔬 It's incredible how the combination of electromagnetism and the viscosity of castor oil can lead to such ordered structures from seemingly chaotic motion. The magnetic field aligning the ferromagnetic ball bearings, combined with the damping effect of the oil, creates a dynamic yet stable system. //WHAT IF YOU COULD WALK INTO FAMOUS PAINTINGS An artist is bringing famous paintings to life, captivating millions. Imagine if Vincent van Gogh could see his art animated, with The Sea at Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer rippling or the lights in Café Terrace at Night flickering. Andrey Zakirzyanov, a multidisciplinary artist and animator, is doing just that. His hand-crafted animations transform iconic works like Van Gogh's Starry Night Over the Rhône and Renoir's Le Pont-Neuf into lively scenes where people dance and the ocean moves. By merging classic art with modern visuals, he offers a fresh perspective on these masterpieces. Zakirzyanov’s animations enhance the emotions of traditional paintings, making them feel alive and engaging. //A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE ON INNOVATION True Innovation isn't about sleek gadgets or breakthrough algorithms. The most transformative innovations throughout history weren't created by people obsessed with technology - they came from those haunted by problems that needed solving. When I see failed startups with cutting-edge tech but no users, I'm reminded that innovation's true north isn't technological advancement. It's empathy. The innovator's most powerful question isn't "How can I build something impressive?" but rather "What keeps people awake at night, and how might I help them?" The greatest innovations don't begin in labs - they begin in hearts that genuinely care about improving human lives. Technology is just the vehicle. Compassion is the driver. //THE IRONY OF PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING I had a moment of clarity yesterday... INBOX: *23 unread connection requests with immediate sales pitches* ME: *Scrolls past them without responding* ALSO ME: *Sends a thoughtful connection request to someone* ALSO ME: *Checks daily to see if they've responded* ALSO ME: *Wonders what I did wrong when they don't* The irony isn't lost on me. After 15+ years in this business and projects with some of the most renowned companies like Porsche, IBM, Siemens, etc, I STILL face the silence. The dreaded non-response. The professional ghosting. We're all guilty of it - we ignore the people trying to sell us something immediately after connecting, yet we take it personally when our own outreach goes unanswered. But here's what I've learned: It's rarely about YOU. It's about: - Their overwhelmed inbox - Their current priorities - Their personal systems for managing connections - Their own professional anxieties - Simply timing So the next time you don't get a response, remember: the same person who ignored your thoughtful message probably just finished ignoring 20 others. Don't be hard on yourself. Keep reaching out. Keep connecting authentically. And maybe... just maybe... respond to one of those sales pitches. Not to buy anything, but to acknowledge the human on the other end who's feeling exactly like you do right now. ——— Chances your innovation strategy is broken are 94% https://lnkd.in/dexsVrw8 #innovation #innoweek #venturestudio #companybuilder #startupstudio #vc All rights and credits are reserved to the respective owner(s).
