Transforming a startup from early to repeatable sales is HARD. If youโre a B2B founder with early sales, then you've done many things right to win your first customers. BUT - to raise a round A, your startup will need to have a product that's ready to scale because it can be To get repeatable sales - there are four blockers. You'll need to change each one from "not working" to "working": 1๏ธโฃ Consistently creating a ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐ข of conversations with customers 2๏ธโฃ Converting these conversations into a ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐ข of first meetings 3๏ธโฃ Converting these meetings into a ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐ข of trials 4๏ธโฃ Converting trials into a ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐ข of deals. These blockers need to be removed ๐จ๐๐ฆ๐ช๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐ฎ - i.e. one by one. I'm a former co-founder and CEO at ApolloShield - a profitable YC startup. Outbound isn't dead. But it's definitely dying. It still works - ๐ฉ๐ค๐๐๐ฎ. But spam filters, LinkedIn bans, and call blockers (re the latest iOS updates) are closing in fast. What's next? If you're playing the long game, start now: โ Build communities (Jared Robin + Boaz Descalo) โ Create content (Augusto Ferreira๐ด + Tom Orbach) โ Invest in thought leadership (Jon Rittenberg + Andrew Jacobson) โ Grow your network (Mac Reddin ๐ฆ + Ben Lang) โ Have an in-person strategy (Adir Zimerman + Assa Eldar ๐ฅ) Outbound buys ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ. Strategy buys your ๐ณ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ. My focus? Network intelligence: โ Followers of X โ Social Engagers of X โ Clients of X โ Collaborators of X โ ICPs Connected to X โ Partners of X X = You Friends, clients, investors Partners Competitors Adjacent solutions Where are you placing your bets?
Building your GTM + AI + automations roadmap? Here are the 3 levels of tools you'll want. I mentored a GTM + AI + automations hackathon yesterday Questions like these kept popping up: โ Why do you recommend Clay over n8n? โ What is better: vibe coding or no code tools? Here's my simple guide for building your progress plan: (TLDR: I recommend starting with level 1 then going for 2 and 3.) Easiest to build and maintain. Requires almost no coding skills. Super straightforward and user-friendly interface. Connect to any tool and run any AI prompt. Costs $350/mo but simple, unlimited automations are worth it! I always choose to use it first. Supports loops and more advanced logic flows. Has amazing support for AI agents with cool functions. Gets difficult to maintain and debug when > 1 nested loop Good middle ground between simplicity and power. It can build literally anything you need. Makes complex data processing and retrieval tasks easy. Careful though - it sometimes hallucinates APIs that don't exist. Steep learning curve but worth mastering. P.S: Any questions or other tools I should add to my list? And big thanks to Boaz Descalo Eyal Gurevich Uri Goren Uri Haramati Ariel Kornberg Raviv Kerem Michael Attias Nim Sadeh Shlomit Levi Arzi David Weinstein Ali Mukhamadiev โ๏ธ Ofer Hermoni, Ph.D. and the incredible Augusto Ferreira๐ด for inspiring this post ๐
All SDRs (yes, AI included) are in a race to the bottom. Just this week, I spoke with: โข A series-C CEO who fired his **entire** 8 x SDRs team and "hired" AI SDRs โข A PE-backed CRO who expects AEs networking to source the majority of his deals, while SDRs are at best a secondary source They are both right because of this dynamic: 57+ identical AI SDRs (I'll help you choose if you insist) โฌ๏ธ AI SDRs lower prices + increase volume โฌ๏ธ Outbound continues to tank across the board โฌ๏ธ "personalized" messages get ignored โฌ๏ธ SDR ROI (Human or AI) further decreases โฌ๏ธ The end result? Outbound and ads merge into "omnichannel": 1. Pay to play (at least at scale) 2. CTRs decrease โ CAC increases 3. AI personalization (Clay / Meta's AI ads for example) So how do you win? 1. Create content and offers that your customers really, actually care about 2. Rapid experiments on targeting x creative x offer x capture mechanism 3. Outbound with extreme business relevance (NOT "personalization"! REAL WIIFM) 4. Network like your life depends on it (because it does) P.S: ๐'๐บ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ (๐ป๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐, ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐๐) Want to join it & help me reach more people?
