An overlooked theory in life: Controlling what you can, letting go of the rest. We have between 12,000 & 60,000 thoughts daily. But 80% of those are negative thoughts. (Source: The National Science Foundation) Why does this happen? Because we fixate on what we can't control. This often results in: ↳ Constant overthinking ↳ Heightened anxiety ↳ Reduced output Here’s how to shift that... Try the 3 Circles of Influence Model: This method breaks things into 3 core areas Take a closer look below: The Circle of Concern: ↳ Things entirely outside your control ↳ Examples: The past, the news, the weather ↳ Action: Learn to release these, they offer no return The Circle of Influence: ↳ Things that you can help shape ↳ Examples: Your friends, your image, your close circle ↳ Action: Focus your attention on what you can shape The Circle of Control: ↳ Elements completely in your hands ↳ Examples: Your mindset, your actions, your responses ↳ Action: Invest your effort into these areas daily Life’s too short to stress over the uncontrollable. Save this, revisit it, and use it to find peace. Credit to Jeroen Kraaijenbrink for inspiring this analysis! 7 Thought-Provoking Lessons From 240+ hours away from work: Hello! I'm back from my 3-week break in Australia. Over that time I did a LOT of thinking and reflecting... Here are some mini-lessons from my conclusions: 1. You don't need more ideas, you need less distractions. 4 hours thinking without devices = complete reset. 2. Count how many times you will see your parents in your current lifetime. It will scare you. (HT Sahil Bloom, beautiful new book) 3. Doing nothing can be one of the best things for your productivity. You don't have to squeeze everything out of the days. 4. Want big things? Hang out with people where it becomes normal. Amazing how quickly you can shortcut yourself to success. 5. Challenge your own thoughts and beliefs daily. Take in multiple perspectives and angles to find the best answers. 6. A lot of problems can be solved by a walk/run in the sun. For extra juices, do not take your phone. 7. Life is all about creating good memories with the people you love. This is easy to forget when we're stuck in the day-to-day. Incredibly grateful to be able to take this break. And now I'm ready for the next chapter... Lots of exciting things coming 👀 What have I missed over the last 3 weeks??
This picture is generated by AI... It only took 2 minutes. Here's how: Okay kidding, I'm not going to show you how to do it. Everyone and their dog knows how to do this now. If you think silly photos of your mates will be enough to get likes. You're wrong (or at least I hope). Here's how to actually use AI. From ideation to creation. (To produce high-quality content at 10x speed) Ideation: 1. Understand your ICP's pain points. ↳ Use Saywhat's AI Ghostwriter to deeply understand your audience (not an Ad FYI - it's epic) 2. Analyse the output. ↳ Then use Saywhat's database to find the most popular post topics... Based on that research. 3. Expand on those ideas using ChatGPT. ↳ Once you have 5-10 prevalidated post ideas, build them out. Prompt: Give me 10/20 unique alternative ideas to these posts using my beliefs [enter beliefs] and my expertise [enter expertise]. Content creation: 1. Create a custom copywriter GPT. ↳ Plug in your old posts and posts from your fav creators. ↳ Share key insights into your tone and experience. 2. Think about how you visualise value ↳ No idea for the visual? No problem. Use GPT to help you! Prompt: Give me 10 ideas on how to share this information visually on a cheat sheet, to make it far easier to read. 3. Edit like a pro ↳ Come in and make any necessary edits. ↳ Then resubmit to GPT, mentioning your changes, so it remembers. Bonus (Still playing around with this): ↳ Add in your current cheatsheet or carousel template ↳ Ask GPT to make slight variations (Eg make it more fun/creative/silly) If you're reading this thinking: "Nah mate AI is a load of rubbish" I had these exact thoughts not long ago. But get good at it and you can get SO much time back. Then you can play chess or go to the movies (slight bias there). My point is, that you still can't completely automate content. And tbh you never should. But get some time back... And then even better ideas will come to you!! Want to get more of these 🔥 tips?? Chris Donnelly and Nader Alnajjar (the 2 legends beside me) Are doing a FREE webinar tonight! Grab your spot here:https://lnkd.in/emH8jNKT Ps no, we are not starting a band together, sorry :D
7 Lies About Productivity That are Holding You Back: We’ve been fed a lot of nonsense. - More hacks. - More apps. - More doing. But if productivity really meant progress... Why do most people still feel stuck? Let’s clear it up. Here are 7 lies you need to stop believing (And what to focus on instead): 1. "Starting Means You’re Progressing" ↳ New projects feel productive… but they rarely get finished. ↳ Instead: Measure success by output. Finish what you start. 2. "You’ll Always Have Time Later" ↳ You won’t. And future-you won’t thank you either. ↳ Instead: Audit your calendar weekly and protect deep work time. 3. "Trying Every Hack Will Help" ↳ Hacks don’t work if you never stick with them. ↳ Instead: Choose one. Track it daily for 30 days. 4. "Doing It All Is Noble" ↳ You waste hours on tasks outside your zone of genius. ↳ Instead: Hire freelancers on Fiverr and focus on what moves the needle. ↳ Use JOSHSANDERS for 10% off. Click here: https://lnkd.in/ejuUvSYB 5. "Busy = Productive = Successful" ↳ A packed calendar ≠ progress. ↳ Instead: Prioritise 1–3 high-impact tasks daily. 6. "Motivation Is All You Need" ↳ Waiting to “feel it” is a losing game. ↳ Instead: Show up anyway. Discipline drives results. 7. "Success Means Never Procrastinating" ↳ Everyone procrastinates. Even top performers. ↳ Instead: Learn your patterns. Build safeguards. The truth: Productivity isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what matters—consistently. Ps massive shoutout to Fiverr for helping me buy back my time. Their freelancers are 🔥 and have saved me HOURS. A very proud #ad ♻ Repost this if you’ve fallen for any of these lies. The loudest voices crave attention. But the quiet ones earn respect: Beautiful carousel from TCA coach Mike Leber (As an introvert I loveee this) Quiet people stay focused on results, not recognition. They don’t talk over others. But they’re never overlooked. Their presence speaks volumes: ✅ Q – Quality ✅ U – Understanding ✅ I – Insight & Growth ✅ E – Empathy & Real Connections ✅ T – Care in Words & Choices Quiet people lead without the noise. Here are 9 quiet strengths every great leader can learn: (the essence of steady leadership) 1. They use silence as a tool ↳ Letting stillness guide the conversation ↳ They watch what rises in the quiet moments 2. They sense emotional tension early ↳ Noticing strain long before it surfaces ↳ They hear what’s unspoken 3. They speak with exact timing ↳ Few words, always well-placed ↳ They shift direction with one question 4. They visualise outcomes in advance ↳ Mapping five moves while others plan one ↳ Playing things forward before reacting 5. They link the dots no one else sees ↳ Bridging talks weeks apart ↳ Answering today with yesterday’s insight 6. They gather small clues 🔬 ↳ Spotting energy dips mid-sentence ↳ Turning quiet cues into sharp understanding 7. They use absence to create a presence ↳ Showing up where it truly matters ↳ Their silence speaks volumes 8. They listen before weighing in ↳ Absorbing first, responding last ↳ Finding unity in scattered thoughts 9. They wait for the right moment ↳ Not to speak—but to make it count ↳ Timing their voice for maximum weight The noisiest don’t always know the most. The quietest often see the furthest. Most people don’t live 10 years... They live one year, 10 times. Same job Same routine Same conversations And... same complaints. It’s not a life. It’s a loop. And if you don’t interrupt the pattern It’ll quietly steal the next decade from you Here’s how to break it. With 5 steps anyone can apply (no experience needed) 1. Change your digital inputs ↳ Follow 5 people who can show you how to live the life you want ↳ Block 30 minutes a day for content that grows you 2. Switch your surroundings ↳ Visit one new place every month ↳ Talk to a stranger without an agenda 3. Build a second skill ↳ Pick one thing you’re curious about ↳ Work on it for 20 minutes a day 4. Audit your circle ↳ Spend more time with people who challenge you ↳ Create space from those who drain you 5. Review weekly ↳ Ask: what felt new? what felt repetitive? ↳ Use that to plan next week differently You don’t need a huge plan. You just need to stop repeating the same year. The life you have always dreamed of... Isn't often that far away. You just less distractions. And more clarity. Do you agree with this quote ? It’s not always the big mistakes... It’s the everyday habits that damage trust You might not even realise you’re doing them. But others notice. And over time, they quietly ruin your reputation. Here are 9 common behaviours that send the wrong signal And what to do instead: 1. Talking over quieter voices ↳ Makes people feel invisible. ↳ Instead, make space for others to speak. 2. Gossiping at work ↳ It feels harmless, but it spreads toxicity. ↳ Focus on direct, honest conversations. 3. Dodging responsibility ↳ Blame breaks trust. ↳ Own your mistakes and learn from them. 4. Rejecting feedback ↳ It signals arrogance. ↳ Embrace it as a chance to grow. 5. Missing deadlines without a word ↳ Silence causes confusion. ↳ Communicate early and clearly. 6. Taking all the credit ↳ Even if you did most of the work, share the win. ↳ People remember that. 7. Refusing small tasks ↳ “It’s not my job” doesn’t land well. ↳ Be helpful where you can. 8. Letting stress leak into everything ↳ Don’t bring tension into every room. ↳ Pause. Then speak. 9. Showing up unprepared ↳ It tells people you don’t value their time. ↳ Fail to prepare and prepare to fail. Remember: The first step is being aware. Those who are aware of their sabotaging habits: - Stop them happening immediately - Are in result much better to work around - And then land more opportunities because of it. Reputation is built when no one’s watching. And broken when you least expect it. ♻ Repost this to help others spot these habits And follow Josh S. for more like this !
