بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ - وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ۖ The obstacle is the way. When I was 19, my father passed away unexpectedly. I had 5 siblings and a stay-at-home mom to take care of. Lucky for me, I had spent many years with my father at his hair salon that he opened in 1987, where at age 9, I learned how to answer the phone, book appointments, and greet 6-foot giants with a firm handshake. However, with no barber degree or management experience, I was thrown into the deep end and had to learn how to swim quickly. I made more mistakes than I would like to admit, but fast forward 7 years, I had learned some priceless things: -Gave over 12,000 haircuts having a 97% return rate and a book of clients consisting of leaders and CEOs at Concur, Zones, Microsoft, Expedia, and many more. -Became the top men's barber in Bellevue (35+ Yelp reviews :)) -Learned how to run a business, manage employees and satisfy customers This gave me a unique perspective on business and life in general. I persevered to gain entry into the UW Foster School of Business and ended up graduating with an emphasis in Sales and Marketing. I knew I had a love for tech and a knack for sales, so when a client of mine, who was an SDR at DocuSign offered to refer me, I did not say no. I was the fastest promoted SDR at DocuSign, lived through my first IPO with them, and learned a whole lot about SaaS. After mass blasting emails from Outlook, we got Outreach at Docusign. I fell in love with the product and ended up getting hired by the VP of Sales, on the spot during my interview. Never give up and always give 100%. You never know where life takes you. I love my current role at Outreach where I help sales organizations close their sales execution gap so they can more predictably exceed revenue targets.
