The momentum you're looking for is the work you're avoiding. What are you avoiding right now? Your brain is telling you: it's too hard It's too much work Wait till tomorrow to do it You don't know what you're doing You'll mess up and have to do it over It's trying to protect you from change. See, back when humans ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป'๐˜ at the top of the food chain, our brains served us well. They protected us from new things to help us survive. But things are different now. We don't have to worry about being eaten alive because we took a new route to get to work today. But our brains don't know that. They still operate like they did a million years ago. In Steven Pressfield's book called ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—”๐—ฟ๐˜ He calls this force "๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ." "Resistance is an invisible force that is operating against you 24 hours a day trying to stop you from accomplishing what you know you need to get done." Your brain is preventing you from accomplishing things. Maybe it's that: Video you want to publish That podcast you want to finish That thread you just can't complete The research you know you need to do I know how you can fight the resistance. Example: Don't overwhelm yourself by saying you have to have a video published by tomorrow. Figure out the topic 2. Create an outline 3. Write one line of the script 4. Now write another line of the script etc etc. Before you know it, you'll have an amazing topic A first draft of a completed script and you're halfway home already Keep it simple and only work on what's next. Do not try and multi-task. Our primitive brains hate that too ๐Ÿง  Now that you know how to conquer resistance, what are you going to work on today?? How to practice extreme ownership: (and say sorry less often) People say 'sorry' way too much in life The value of a sorry means nothing now You know what does have value? Owning it I used to say sorry for everything. Even when it wasn't my fault: โ†ณ I'm sorry you have to get up โ†ณ I'm sorry you didn't like your choice โ†ณ I'm sorry you have to restart your computer ๐Ÿšฉ Over-apologizing hurts our credibility. You care too much about what others think. You know how I know this? - You're reading this - You know I am 100% right We all battle with imposters syndrome, all of us. But if you care about what others think too much you won't ever accomplish anything. 1. So decide what you want 2. Make a plan to get there overt time 3. Create a content strategy that will help you Start writing content Start recording videos Start recording your podcast Whichever one you feel most comfortable with. It really is that easy. Your company just laid off 50% of its staff but they told you that you were you're safe 30 days later your boss tells you that things have changed You now have a 1:1 scheduled with HR at the end of the week You start to panic, what do you do for income? How will you survive? If you wait to go to the dentist because you have a toothache, its too late. Prevention is the key. You are a number on a balance sheet to your company. But there is something you can do to avoid this situation starting today: โ†’ Find what you like to read about โ†’ Start creating content about that topic โ†’ Start posting that content to LinkedIn consistently โ†’ Put yourself out there and network with people you see posting Simple right? Don't overcomplicate the process and you'll never have an issue. Decide how you want to communicate your message: โ†’ writing โ†’ record a video โ†’ record a podcast โ†’ signup to speak on a panel start with the one you feel most comfortable with and press publish. Put yourself out there. You get to decide on the medium but don't get stuck in in analysis paralysis. The biggest mistakes the majority of new creators fall into: โ†’ all the gear and no idea โ†’ worry about what others think โ†’ Getting stuck trying to post perfect content โ†’ Thinking you need gear to get started (you don't) You need to focus on "Minimum viable content." โ†’ Make content โ†’ Publish that content โ†’ Gather feedback from your analytics โ†’ Iterate more content from the feedback That's it. You get to decide whats next for you. Don't let your current job decide. Make a small calculated bet on yourself and watch what happens to your life. People will either: โ†’ Call you crazy (who cares) โ†’ Ignore you (they already are) โ†’ Love you (followers / customers) Here's to the crazy ones. They cover three core themes: โ†ณ prioritize everything, you canโ€™t do it all โ†ณ attention is limited, knowledge is everywhere โ†ณ You canโ€™t learn without doing Hereโ€™s another reordered version: 1. Wealthy > Rich. True wealth is having the freedom to control your time. Learn from solopreneurs who prioritize freedom over a paycheck. 2. Want To Clear Your Mind? Go For A Walk. Moving your body and quality time with friends cures most problems. Go for tech-free walks to clear your mind. 3. You Learn When You Do. Reading books and applying nothing is useless. The winner learns and then changes their behavior. 4. Simplicity Often Leads to Creativity. Enjoy Nature. Give your mind space to wander. Find inspiration and power in stillness and quiet moments. 5. 7 ways to stop overthinking and get sh*t done: (how to take action faster) Your mind gets stuck when it has too many choices. Simplify to move forward. Avoid these overthinking traps: 1. Trying to do everything yourself โ†ณ Leads to burnout and slow progress. Do: Delegate what someone else can handle. 2. Constantly making low level decisions โ†ณ Wastes energy on low-impact decisions. Do: Use the Do, Delegate, Delete, Delay method. 3. Too many choices for one action โ†ณ Triggers choice paralysis. โ†ณ Do: Remove optionsโ€”pick one route, one habit, and stick to it. 4. Deciding in the moment โ†ณ Makes every decision feel heavy. Do: Plan your route aheadโ€”whether itโ€™s running or work. 5. Overcomplicating decisions โ†ณ Complexity kills momentum. โ†ณ Do: Ask, โ€œWhat would this look like if it were easy?โ€ (KISS method). 6. Letting your day control you โ†ณ You fall into reactive mode. Do: Time block your calendar to control your focus. 7. Thinking spontaneity means chaos โ†ณ Leads to guilt and disorganization. โ†ณ Do: Schedule โ€œplanned spontaneityโ€ so it feels good and intentional. Your time and focus are your most valuable assets. Protect them by making decisions simple, fast, and consistent. โ™ป๏ธ Repost to help someone. ๐Ÿ”” Follow Lucas Bean for more.

You're everyoneโ€™s reality check โ†ณ People often ask, "How did that really go?" because they trust your judgment. 9. You sense when meetings go off track โ†ณ You recognize the moment people start checking their phones more. 10. You spot hidden burnout โ†ณ You notice when colleagues arenโ€™t themselves, even if they try to hide it. โ™ป๏ธ Repost to inspire someone. ๐Ÿ”” Follow Lucas Bean for more.

People won't remember how much money you made but they will remember how you made them feel. Anyone can show off their success. Very few know how to get the best out of people. This is how Emotionally Intelligent leaders lead: โœ… Make sure everyone feels safe to speak โŒ Donโ€™t speak over people during meetings โžŸ Let introverts shine here โœ… Invest in building relationships that drive team results โŒ Donโ€™t only focus on the core results โžŸ build team confidence, everyone wins โœ… Highlight the whole team and their wins โŒ Donโ€™t take credit for other peoples work โžŸ When they are shown winning, you win โœ… Listen to listen first, speak to understand โŒ Donโ€™t push the company agenda at all costs โžŸ Let people take ownership on execution To get the best out of your team: 1. Give real recognition, not just a pat on the back โžŸ be specific with your praise โžŸ Explain how they contributed 2. Make 1:1's an employee first meeting โžŸ Ask what you can do for them โžŸ Don't make this a micro-management meeting 3. Make an effort to get to know your people โžŸ Not all want the spotlight โžŸ Everyone does want to know they are doing well 4. Don't fix the blame, fix the problem โžŸ People won't take risk if you react out of emotion โžŸ Go over what happened and mutually agree on next steps Emotionally intelligent leaders get better results. When people are appreciated they wake up with a purpose and motivation to do their best work When the team is shown winning in public, You are shown winning in private.
