You’ve Been Sold a Life That’s Draining You, and You Bought It

Most people say they have money problems. But it’s not the money... (guide on how to re-write your life)

It’s what they’re willing to tolerate.

• They settle
• For jobs that drain them
• Work that kills their energy
• Difficult Clients that underpay

All for some abstract sense of duty.

This isn’t just about men. It’s about the stories men are told, and who benefits from them.

But here’s the twist nobody warns you about when you “make it.”

We’re programmed to sacrifice.
Raised by fathers who were raised by survivors.
Taught to put our heads down, grind, and provide, no matter the cost.

First it was priests shaping the story.
Then kings.
Now social media "influencers".

By the time you’re grown, your operating system has been programmed:

Work hard. 
Don’t complain. 
Die quietly and fade into oblivion.

But who benefits from that story?

Not you.
Not your family.

You come home empty.
Your wife gets the leftovers.
Your kids don’t get your full attention.

And your own dreams?
Buried under somebody else’s plan.

I know this script. I lived it.
My dad sacrificed everything chasing “security.”
I saw what it cost.
And I promised myself I wouldn’t repeat it.

So I built an agency.
Then noticed I built a new cage.

You can't hustle your way into freedom.
I had More income, but same exhaustion.

Now I’m evolving.
Not just building an agency, but a system that turns ideas into results.

For me. And for the clients I serve. And for employees I hire.

Still hard. Still work.
But no longer a sacrifice.

If your work drains your energy,
resentment is inevitable.

Money made at the cost of self is a ticking bomb.
And no amount of revenue can fix a life designed for burnout.

You don’t need more money.
You need better standards.

If you don’t design your life,
you will be trapped inside of somebody else’s system.

The more time I spend online, the more I see people buying the dream:

• Code an app in 3 days.
• Cash in millions.

Because their favorite influencer said so.


But Nothing really changed.

People still don’t know how to use their own brain.

And AI won’t fix that.

Most can’t even pick the first problem to solve.

• They build an audience and never sell.
• They build an app and never sell.

They’re missing the stack.

Business is a system you maintain.

Systems decay.

That means discipline.

And most people have McDonald’s work ethic with Ferrari goals.

I used to be there.

Making 7 figures... for someone else.

Taking home 6.

Until I stopped being the cog in someone else’s machine.

The internet poisoned expectations.

Now everyone wants 4-hour workdays and 7-figure years without ever holding a real job.

You don’t get a 7-figure income with clock-out mentality.

Business is not a shift.

It’s a system.

And every time you numb your brain with doomscrolling, bingeing, or drinking… you push your dreams further away.

You become a background character in your own story.
NPC energy.
And history doesn’t remember NPCs.

Most people have more bad than good ones. (which one are you?)

Yet nothing sets the direction of your life as much as good habits do.

Given the fact that no one goes the long way, very few people see the effect of good habits compounding into an extraordinary life.

People don't have the motivation to focus on them, because the real lasting change never happens over night.

In the age where our dopamine receptors are flooded and wired to hunt for the next digital prize (like on a slot machine)... 

Building good habits was never THIS difficult.
In this extreme abundance, majority of humanity is still living in dark ages.
It gets worse though…

Few people decided to use your nature against you.

Large majority of people is having their psychology hijacked by big tech.

Most commerce and most business is built on people's desire to find a quick win.

But in doing so, they are being conditioned against their own self interest.

• Big pharma
• Processed foods
• Even your healthcare

All are being weaponized due to incentives.
In order to live your best life, you can't overlook the system.

You need to work alongside it.

I've been a victim of my own smartphone for a very long time.

It robbed me of spending time with my friends, family and from doing my most important work.

But I've got these 5 habits in place that allowed me to take control over my life:

• Putting the phone facing down 100% of the time (less notifications)
• Keeping it in another room when going to sleep (far away from me)
• Not touching any technology for the first 60 minutes of the day
• Deleting social media apps from the phone
• Keeping my phone on silent

While these individually don't create a massive difference, the fact that I've deployed all 5 of them started reducing my phone time dramatically.

The next one I am trying is grayscale color tone.

Spending less time on technology allows me to stay more present.

This presence allows for ideas such as this article to come naturally and effortlessly.

State of mind in which you can further opt-in to create an environment in which the life you want to live occurs.

Summer is almost over (what a bummer).

Are you ready to get back to the office?

Summer night in Chicago.
A Glock pointed to my face.
15 seconds to live an eternity.

I’d just left a friend’s place and stepped outside to grab an Uber.

The app showed my driver circling, so I walked toward a parked car to double-check.

A man jumped out, gun leveled at my head.

Fight-or-flight hit. I sprinted for the lobby door.

Door locked.

I spin around. Two more guys. Three guns total.

When the first one yanked my phone away, I felt relief. They wanted stuff, not blood.

“Just give us your things,” one whispered.

They grabbed my bag.
I yelled, “Keep everything, just leave my ID.”

(No luck. Turns out a DMV line scares me more than a Glock.)

They tried for my keys. I refused.

Guess they were empathetic enough to leave my keys. They took what they could and left.

My actual Uber pulled up a heartbeat later.

No phone, no bag, no ID, just keys and a lesson I can’t unlearn.

What you don’t think about when you might die:

• Commissions
• LinkedIn metrics
• Marketing funnels
• Feeds and notifications

What does flash by

• Your parents’ faces
• The memory of a first kiss
• The person you love the most

Those fifteen seconds last an eternity.

So next time you stare at the to-do list, ask:

How can I work less and live more?

You only get one life, spend it on what makes you feel alive.

That’s why I stopped chasing leads, and built a system that brings the right ones to me.

But today, if you're not first, you are the last.

But here’s the kicker...

When a click does happen, 90% go to sources featured in AI Overviews.

That’s intent.

Real, wallet-out, let’s-buy-something intent.

Now layer this:

• LLMs are used daily by half the U.S. population
• Most are younger, urban, high-income
• And they trust AI like it’s gospel

So let me ask you:

If people are clicking less…
But trusting more…

Where do you need to show up?

Everywhere people ask questions.

• Perplexity
• ChatGPT
• Google
• Reddit
• Quora

This ain’t about SEO.
It’s about GEO and LLMs.

AI isn’t killing search.

It’s fragmenting attention and Balkanizing the web.

Clicks used to be the goal.

Now? 

Presence is.

Because when AI hallucinates…
You want it hallucinating your business.

And when people do click?
Make sure you’re the only sane option.

50–80% of sole proprietors are gone in 5 years.
And that’s just the ones who filed paperwork.
Most “started on Social Media” businesses die without ever existing on paper.

Why?
They do it alone.

Burnout kills more dreams than bad ideas ever will.

I’ve burned out. Multiple times.
Even with a team, it’s brutal.

But here’s the difference:

With a team, you can step away and things still move.

This summer I disappeared.

Revenue didn’t dip.

Every morning: Gantt chart updates.
Every evening: end-of-day reports.

Machine kept humming.

Wasn’t always like this.

• No SOPs.
• No role ownership.
• Everything on my shoulders.

Took years to fix.

And the lesson?
Systems aren’t software alone. Systems are people.

People won’t take the weight off your chest for a middle manager.

They will for a leader.

So Lead.

And build something that changes lives, yours included.

A lot of SEOs that got lazy are attacking AI optimization crew how they are selling snake oil.

This is poor positioning…

You will sound smart in the moment, but nobody built a business nocking other people down.

Do better.
