If anyone would have told me that I would be working in SaaS sales in 2020, I would have said ---- YOU ARE RIGHT!!! Haha! Just kidding. Kind of. When I lost my job, I immediately started looking at SaaS sales roles, but I had no idea what that even meant. So I joined a group called Thursday Night Sales way back in April, and frankly, my life hasn't been the same since. TNS led me to Christine Rogers and now I am working alongside her and the rest of the Aspireship team, helping people launch into their own #saassales careers, and most importantly, partnering with dynamic, fast-growing tech companies to hire our grads. So not only do I get to work in #saas, I get to do what my heart wants to do - help people get hired. #1 - Come to Thursday Night Sales if you have EVER considered a career in SaaS - newbies highly encouraged! #2 If you are interested in the Aspireship program and launching your own SaaS sales career, DM me - newbies highly encouraged! #3 If you are growing your sales org and care more about capability and coachability rather than a number of years of experience on a piece of paper - DM me. Our grads ROCK! Seriously. They are incredible. #sales #hiring #sdrs #recruiting #getontheship #salesmanagement #salesleaders #careerpivot #learning #growth

It took me 26 seconds to sign up for the Wall Street Journal, but 26 minutes to cancel. (I had to wait on chat.) And now I sorta hate the Wall Street Journal. It's the same with a few SaaS products I recently tried to cancel. I expected a cancel button under "Account" but didn't see one. No instructions either. I had to Google "How to cancel X". The process involved emailing support. Basecamp makes it easy to cancel. You cancel with one click. Netflix makes it easy to cancel too. In fact, their homepage says, "Watch anywhere. Cancel anytime." They know shoppers have anxiety about canceling. Why do some companies make it so difficult to cancel? Shouldn't it be as easy to cancel as it is to buy? Discuss.

😓 the number of companies out there that won't pay $20K a year for off-the-shelf SaaS, but then spend unlimited engineering effort building internal tooling themselves and then complain they don't have enough engineering capacity

How to start a SaaS company: Take the most tedious tech task at your job. Automate it and sell it for $99 per month. There are many, many companies who would gladly pay $100 to get back some of their dev team's time per month.

In product-led SaaS: Product Management’s main job is to make it easy for the User to say Yes. Product Marketing’s main job is make it difficult for the Buyer to say No. Sales’ main job is to monetize by overcoming Customer inertia.
