Think about it: Spotify wants you to listen longer 🎧, Netflix wants you to binge-watch 🎬, HubSpot wants you to close deals 👩🏻💼, and LinkedIn wants you to make connections 👨🏻💼. These are all #behaviours that their design drives. So, how can you tie your desired customer behaviours to your design? I recently came across Jason Grant's story of transforming BrightTALK's dashboards leading to 15x growth. Here's how you can do it: 1️⃣ Find your north star metric - the behaviour your customers would exhibit if they loved your product. 2️⃣ Immerse yourself in the problem you're designing for and identify your user's goals, pains, and gains. 3️⃣ Define a small set of metrics that drive your north star and represent your customers' desired outcomes. 4️⃣ Design with the sole intention of driving those metrics. 5️⃣Collect useful data to track your product's impact on the metrics you've defined.
