@farid-singh-823b391Why I am NOT excited by ChatGPT? At the monthly unofficial meetup of our INSEAD alumni yesterday, the topic of #ChatGPT came up, and how everyone was saying how it will take away jobs and be the next big thing. I don't agree. In fact as someone who studies trends as a profession (#Innovation #Tech), I can be bold enough to give my predictions for ChatGPT... (not true for the artistic versions DALL-E and others) 1. ChatGPT is mediocre. If you are an expert in your field, CGPT will truly provide mediocre results, results you would never want to publish, or make public besides to check if people can detect CGPT or call you out on it. Try it out. Essentially it is there to replace mediocre or do the first draft. Will it get better? Yes, with better prompts. Who gives these prompts? Humans.... 2. It is built on data already available and this makes it very difficult for it to produce the outliers, the breakthrough thinkers, the real conversations... the thought provoking work 3. It will not take your jobs. Everyone who said AI would take our jobs, has hired twice as many data scientists at even higher costs. Technology available to all in the medium run normalises as demand ramps up. You use CGPT, everyone uses it, and then you will hire CGP T experts who cost twice as much as regular folks whose job you 'gave' to CGPT 4. CGPT is a breakthrough. Don't get me wrong. But how we use it and what we will do with it is not even in our horizon right now. It's utilisation to replace/improve existing jobs will be limited to around 20%, and in turn it will create 80% new markets for itself. 5. OpenAI will be one of the most valuable companies for another 2-3 years, before things normalise. My tip is to watch out for the #openai killer, the second mover in the market! 6. If you are looking for efficiency improvements, CGPT is your guy. Want to put out mediocre content every 2 days vs excellent content every week... CGPT is the thing for you. Want to get basic info on a topic you know nothing about, here you go. Want to replace cut copy paste while coding, CGPT will do it for you. Want to get something to start with, CGPT will be a perfect start. 7. By default, CGPT will be it's own death knell. Imagine reading CGPT written drafts and texts for things that don't matter anymore. But you add the human component to CGPT and add an extra 20% consciousness, you'll make a killing with it. Same way you don't even bother with a LinkedIn sales message anymore, but a personal message after an automated lead gen, you'll entertain. Anyone selling you CGPT based services is going to make a killing in the next 4-5 months. Then, everyone will, and that ROI will disappear and normalise. People are versatile enough to relearn and add value. Remember, blacksmiths lost their job with the car, but resulted in far more mechanics and car factory workers. So excited by the CGPT journey, not by the #product yet! Tomorrow talk about how to really use ChatGPT!

@undefinedHow does CloudNC's machining technology compare to generative AI tools like Chat-GPT and DALL-E, which can create text and images at the touch of a button? Here's the thoughts of founder Theo Saville on how all these tools can short-circuit the creative process and spur innovation, based on a few chosen prompts: #chatgpt #cncmachining #manufacturing #generativeai

@pavel-pasternakAfter decades of speculation, real-world artificial intelligence has finally hit a tipping point. Now that we know what AI models like ChatGPT and DALL-E can do, should we be worried? #artificialintelligence #ai #chatgpt

@chris-beall-7859a4Susan Finch Corey Frank and I worked with ChatGPT AI to write a book over a weekend. We asked ChatGPT to summarize each of the first 25 episodes of season 1 of our Market Dominance Guys podcast, then asked ChatGPT a question about each episode based on the summaries it had written. The experience was full of surprises - all of them positive. While the end product is not perfect because our approach was doomed to generate a bit of redundant content, we were amazed at how easy it was to get something decent. Learning "prompt engineering" for both the text and the cover art (using DALL-E Open Ai) felt natural, even though I'm sure my newbie status will dominate my prompt engineering efforts for some time. Then the big surprise. We are going to follow ChatGPT's instructions on how to publish on Amazon in 3 formats through Kindle Direct Publishing: hardcover, paperback and ebook. Susan asked me for some complimentary quotes about our podcast, so I did the usual: searched using Google. 15 minutes of frustration later I concluded no one had ever said anything nice about our podcast. It was a bit deflating. Then I asked ChatGPT and the heavens opened. Not only quotes, but from powerful people I admire. Hooked, I kept asking, and ChatGPT kept delivering. I'll put them in the comments, appropriately tagged. Ask in the comments me if you would like a copy in pdf form before it goes up as a Kindle ebook and I can't distribute it myself. $10B investment from Microsoft into OpenAI? For search alone it seems like a very smart move from my experience. #chatgpt #dominateyourmarket

@thomaslikesunicornsWhen OpenAI unveiled DALL-E last Spring to let people generate images simply by describing what they wanted to see, it became evident that the technology could augment and even rival human creativity, and would change the way creative work is done. As product and technology experts, Creative Fabrica founders Roemie Hillenaar and Anca Stefan saw the potential of this technology early on, and the tangible value-add it would bring to their fast-growing 4M creatives community they have steadily & profitably built over the years. Congratulations to the Creative Fabrica team on their remarkable growth trajectory since inception, and glad to support them in their continued mission of helping people unlock their creativity alongside Felix Capital, Peak, LionTree, TriplePoint Capital and FJ Labs cc: Alven Maria Tahri Frederic Court Stefan Bary

@simonhoibergAI is amazing! I'm incredibly excited about how easy it's become for average developers like me to build cool things! The challenge: Doing something that stands out. New copywriting tools pop up every day, and simply making a UI on top of GPT-3 or DALL-E is not gonna cut.

@ramsrigAI/ML progress is hard to catch up with! What I have practiced is following leaps, not deltas. Spend time understanding the leaps and build your leverage on them within a monetizable window. For me, in the recent AI advancements it was T5, GPT-3, Stable Diffusion/ Dall-E2, and Whisper. #ai #ml #artificialintelligence

@zainkahnArtificial Intelligence is about to turn the world upside down. And 99% people have no idea how quickly their lives will change. Here's a quick 2 minute summary to help you understand how advances in AI will impact your life and career: Believe it or not, some degree of AI has been present in our lives for at least a decade now. Ever used Google to find a product or get directions to your friends house? Searched for a movie on Netflix? Used Siri on your iPhone? All of these products use AI to help you. But things have started to move really fast since Google invented Transformer models in 2017. I won't go too deep into what a Transformer is (you can Google it), but they basically open up some crazy possibilities in the worlds of language and imagery. Some examples of mind-blowing advances: • Dall-E 2 is a website that lets you turn any text into an image. • Jasper AI will write whole blogs for you in seconds. • Soundraw IO will generate royalty free music for you in the blink of an eye. Tools like Github copilot can even help developers write code, while some AI products can now build an entire app based on what you tell it to build. We're not far off from a day where AI simply codes an entire product for folks who doesn't know how to code, which blows the field wide open for anyone who wants to build a technical product. Imagine building a working app without knowing how to write a line of code. But this is just the beginning. AI already outperforms humans on many tasks - like chess and modelling protein structures. In the next few years, we'll see AI beating us on tasks we didn't think were possible - from creating art and movies to answering customer service calls. What happens next? The honest answer is that nobody knows for sure. But it's likely that AI will improve rapidly from here and outperform humans on most tasks. This will make our lives much easier, but also potentially threaten millions of jobs. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Eliminating mundane tasks people hate can often free them up to focus on higher level or more creative tasks. Imagine being able to delegate the boring parts of your job to an AI and freeing up your time to focus on things you enjoy doing.
