Entrepreneurs should understand Money ! There is this joke on Internet ------ I met an old friend from high school the other day, and I couldn't believe how wealthy he had become. He ran a massively successful business, but could barely get a passing grade in math class when I knew him. I asked him how he did it. He said it was easy. "All I did was find a product I could make for $2 and sell for $4. You'd be surprised just how much 2% adds up over the years!" --- Though entrepreneurship is all about an idea & execution, money plays a major part. Without it, you can neither start it or scale up. You must know the value of money. Sometimes you may be lucky in managing money without knowing, but, not always. Many startup people do not note down all the expenses in an Excel sheet. They must note down every expense whether it is Rs 500 for domain registration or spending a day in Starbucks. Even if a friend is giving his services free, have a guesstimate of his efforts & note it down, so that you can compensate later when you can. This will keep reminding you how much of your bootstrapped money is going out. Use whatever money you have judiciously. Even if you are paying Shah Rukh Khan or to your friendly vendor, note it down. PS: If you are noting down, don't pay me :-)

What is that money can not buy? Ok.Ok. You are a saint and you say you can not buy love, peace of mind, relationship etc. If money can not buy, it may certainly help a way around. Every thing has a work around. Money can buy good employees. Even to retain a good employee who is not tempted to quit for higher salary, you may 'buy' him a good paid vacation in Maldives or Bahamas, which he may never refuse and the loyalty may continue farther! Money can buy good customers! We are seeing the Unicorns doing it day in and day out. Money can not buy love? Then you do not know how to use money. Say a person does not like expensive gifts. But, that other person may love to help orphans. And you arrange to celebrate a day or two in an orphanage and gift food and toys to kids on that person's behalf! If not that, find your way. You may not be able to buy parental love, but, don't you make them happy buy gifting many things, some of which they may have sacrificed to take care of kids? Peace of mind can not be bought?
