Video editing is an art form that requires creativity, skill and experience. It involves taking raw footage, organizing it into a cohesive narrative and giving it the visual appeal to grab your audience's attention.
The goal of video editing is to create a seamless story that evokes emotion, communicates information or entertains viewers in some way.
Linkedin is a good place to find video editors for hire, or for share ideas with them.
The best way to create top-quality Linkedin content is to look at what's working for your competitors or fellow creators and get some fresh inspiration from it.

@jcoreyTikTok continues to blow my mind. The rate at which they release large features is insane. Whether you’re in marketing/content or are just curious about TikTok updates, I put some notes together on how they may be competing with more established platforms for attention: 1. TikTok SEO (Search Engine Optimization) — competing with Youtube/Google? - The rate at which younger audiences are using TikTok to search for fashion, health, make-up, travel, and other tips/education is increasing massively - There’s so much untapped potential to capture SEO terms by brands while they can right now. - Tiktok is investing in long-form content — they just increased max run time and max caption length which means more keywords and information can be added to each post - However, YouTube/Google has been in this game way longer so they may just crush Tiktok with the rise of Youtube Shorts - People are ultimately going to go where they believe the more valuable content is - TikTok's biggest challenge is in incentivizing creators to stay with Tiktok. Youtube has revenue-sharing via advertising which is more lucrative for creators long term. 2. "TikTok Now" — competing with BeReal? - The user-base Tiktok has is a big leg up over BeReal - This is yet another organic feature influencers and brands can tap into to form real relationships - However, Tiktok is based on ‘interests’ not ‘social’ — people go on their to scroll like they’re flipping through TV channels, not to see what their friends are up to - The strength of BeReal is that it’s lesser known and more of a if-you-know-you-know platform - This means it’s less saturated and more relevant to users who only care about their immediate network 3. TikTok “Nearby” Filter — competing with Yelp? - This is an important one for retail brands to tap into - Restaurants, shops, and any brand in groceries or markets should be creating content with this feature in mind 4. TikTok Video Editing Features In-App + ‘Capcut’ — competing with iMovie? - TikTok's in-app video editing capabilities just got upgraded and are far superior to Instagram’s - Videography is increasingly becoming more mainstream and mobile-first — Tiktok is clearly winning here and providing more accessibility to existing creators and new ones - Their video editing app Capcut (which you can get on Desktop now) is designed with social apps in mind - letting you pull in music directly from what’s trending, and adding transitions/captions that are directly from the native platform - The real key is to make video editing collaborative and cloud-based - like Figma is for design ——— Did I miss anything? lol #tiktok #tiktokmarketing #tiktokads #marketing #brand #content #seo

@hanzandzI'm a 'social media expert' and yet I'm not the best at: 💳 Paid social 🎥 Video editing ▶️ Long-form content So many people get stressed about ensuring they're good at everything but in reality you only NEED to be great at what you need to be great at. In my case, I know I'm great at: 🫂 Understanding humans and how they act across social media 📲 Building and leading teams of social media experts And right now, that's all I need to perform my job to the highest standard. If you're worried about being good at everything, you'll never be great at anything.
I've lost most of my motivation for video editing. I hate to blame the tools, but the current state of video editing software is...rough. Let's break down the pros and cons of all the major players (Premiere, Final Cut, Resolve, Descript and CapCut)

@lekhanareddy⭐50k followers on Instagram! ⭐ When I first started posting on Instagram it was to share my journey into data. Never thought it would come to a point where there would be 50,000+ of you connected to me here. Here are the top 5 accomplishments that I am most proud of: 1) Connected with and made really good virtual friends both on Linkedin, Instagram, and YouTube. 2) Reached over 1 million post views multiple times on Instagram. 3) I launched my first online course where we transitioned students to data science and analytics. 4) I started posting reels and created this amazing close-knit community of data professionals whom I can frequently interact with, host question and answer sessions, and post content as requested. Also learned a lot about video editing and graphic design along the way. 4) I started helping professionals as a career coach and was able to talk to 250+ clients, many of whom received successful offers from companies like Meta, Amazon, Wayfair, etc after multiple coaching /planning/mock interview sessions. Be sure to follow, like, and share our channel as we spread knowledge on data science and analytics. Blender is the best software on the planet. Completely free, and absurdly powerful. Anyone getting into video editing should ditch focusing on Adobe and begin with Blender. Everything else will fall in its place,
Brett Puffenbarger
@brettpuffenbargerThree skills that will make you look like a wizard 🧙♂️ to your boss and peers: • Copyrighting • Graphic Design • Video Editing Each of these skills are invaluable for pretty much anyone from anywhere if you know how and when to bring them out of the toolbox. You're a startup company trying to raise some cash... Copyrighting and graphic design are your friends. A pitch deck that looks good and makes sense is almost as important as what your company does and how much money it's making. You're a #cannabis scientist trying to educate the masses... All three can be and are seemingly essential skills in 2022. YouTube and Tik Tok videos are great ways go get complex ideas access quickly. Copyrighting allows you to turn that report that only other scientists can read into an easily understood article. Graphic design let's you format your findings into an infographic or "one pager." You're a salesperson or retail worker in the #cannabisindustry trying to earn more #startup business... You're a Compliance person trying to get your team on board with some new standards and procedures... You're a newly promoted manager trying to train your team... All of the above can have the same logic applied. Graphic design turns boring into exciting. Good copyrighting is the difference between being understood and not. Video editing is the key to getting through to audiences with shorter attention spans than ever before. If all of these seem like something you're totally incapable of (they aren't, but that's a conversation for a different day)... Hire a freelancer or a consultant to help you. If even that seems too daunting or confusing, here are my recommendations for someone who can help you: Copyrighting: Veronica Castillo or Jessica Reilly Video Editing: Tim Owens Graphic Design: Chandler Easley All great ideas need to be promoted. Most are not and that's a make or break. Anyone have these secret wizard powers? Anyone interested in learning more about them?
Damini Gulati
@damini-gulati-213592180"I really like your work but I can only pay 1/4th of what you quoted, since we are a small business" For 4 years I have had this back and forth with numerous clients, often lowering my price, or using convincing tips that freelancers like Komal Ahuja shared. Sometimes I would just end the conversation because I did not have the power to convince them further. No matter what services you offer, how good you are, how amazing your ideas for their business might be, our dear lovely clients always are trying to find a way to get their work done for cheaper. 🤤 So if you are a small business looking to hire, please read this before you approach anyone for services: 1- You liked me because I showed you my best work. That cannot be done for 1/4th of what I offered. What I can do for 1/4th, you won't like. 2- Please do your research, find what the standard charges for the services are you need. If you are not willing to pay that, please do not reach out to freelancers and waste their time. 3- Look at freelancers as your regular employees, someone who helps manage finance at your office, someone who helps stack your goods, someone who stitches the clothes you sell online. Would you offer them a salary below minimum wage? Why offer us then? 4- You might think that Content Creation is easy, since there are a few gazillion of them on Instagram. But it is not, it honestly is the most difficult task in the entire Digital Marketing sphere, including technical job roles like SEO, analysts, photography, video editing. I can say this because I have worked with all of them and everyone accepts that Creating Content that people are going to like is an art not anyone can do. Also remember this: you might convince someone who's in need of money to do your work for peanuts, but the minute they get a better offer, they will leave. That's one of the blessings of being a freelancer! 😅 #freelancer #marketing #marketingandadvertising #contentcreation

@brendanhuffordThere are 207,000 searches each month for “best video editing software.” Can you find 5 of those people each day that will pay you $10/mo? Congratulations! You just added $200k ARR. Definitely not easy, but also not that complicated (even for a solo marketer) ⚡️
Stephen Olmon
@stephenolmon💥Major Milestone💥 After a few offers and ~12 months of looking at deals (all proprietary), I finally bought a business! 1 down, *many more to come. I'm really excited about this business and the existing team members are great. Read below to hear the whole story. 👇 BLNK Slate ( BLNK Slate Media ) was started a few years ago and provides dedicated video editors 7 days a week. The founder Sam Lister built a great business and we are excited that he's maintaining a small interest in the company. We are experts in short form video editing and also serve long form video editing needs for YouTubers, podcasters, and other media alike. So, who is "We"? I partnered with Connor Abene on this acquisition, which I'm really excited about. Connor is a bright financial mind and he and I complement each other well. He has known Sam for about 18 months, which is how the deal found momentum. Most of the businesses I've started with partners through Several Ventures have been online / productized service companies, which is why I felt very comfortable acquiring BLNK Slate. Recurring revenue, strong margins, and clear demand that's not going anywhere. Sign me up. But, no business is perfect. We see opportunities to dramatically improve and scale various marketing activities (SEO, PPC, Partnerships, etc), build a tighter sales process, and expand into new personas / client types. Speaking of partners... *Please DM me if you're interested in becoming a referral partner. We just launched a new website, which will significantly expand over the next 3-6 months. Be free to reach out if you have any constructive criticism! www.blnkslatemedia.com I'm also eating my own food, as I'm transitioning any and all video editing to be executed by our team this month. This will be super helpful as we look for ways to improve ops, customer service, and overall quality of delivery. So, how'd we finance this thing? I think we could have gone down the SBA route, but it made more sense to use some of our own equity (including the addition of some working capital) along with private debt. Because I'm a blood thirty capitalist...if this fits a need you may have we'd love the opportunity to serve you. DM me and I'll give you a code for 50% off your first month if you'd like to take us for a spin! Bring it. Lastly, I'd GREATLY appreciate it if you share this on LinkedIn and/or share with friends that you think may benefit from working with us. Onward! #entrepreneurship #acquisitions #videoediting
Mohit Kumar
@mohit-kumar-5795011a6My 4 Years at IIT (3/4): Hello Everyone, I am Mohit Kumar, graduated from IIT Roorkee (2018-2022). I see a great transition in me from 1st to 4th year and so I thought of sharing my college story in 4 chapters. I have already released chapters 1 & 2 (links in the comments), please read them before this one, and now here is the 3rd chapter. Chapter 3: Faith, Recognition, and First Income “My classmates were getting internships and earning money, while I was working in a startup for free, but then…” So with this glimpse of the upcoming story, let's start from the beginning. I started getting recognition after the story writing thing happened in my 3rd semester and hence my confidence in talking to people also improved gradually. But writing wasn’t sufficient to show my stories. I wanted to make something on youtube but couldn’t start. And then something happened that broke my myth that “a short film can't be made with smartphone”. One of my hometown friends made a short film with smartphone and released it on YouTube. On watching that, I got intrigued and talked to him about that. This gave me faith, but still I couldn’t start making one due to lack of courage, although it was my dream to make a short film in college. Around that time, I attended a workshop by the cinematic club of my college. That workshop was meant for freshers but I went there despite being from the 2nd year. I was sitting among first-year students and some people who were conducting that workshop were from my year (as they were part of the cinematic club). I felt so low looking at those. After that, I got determined to make a short film on my own and show my passion. I wrote a story in just 2 days, talked to some of my friends and made them ready to act in it, started filming with my phone, and finally released it on YouTube (link in comments). It got a decent number of views and many people watched it and praised me for making it (although it was very immaturely made). I got lots of recognition and made lots of friends during the process. Some of my friends started calling me "Director Sahab" and they wanted to act in my next short film. I got praised by some of my seniors as well. During that process of filmmaking, I learned video editing skill. And looking at my work, a senior of mine allowed me to work in his startup as video editor. I wasn’t getting any money for that work but I was learning about startups, marketing, and business. People around me started going on internships and earning money while I didn't have any internship. But in a month or so, I got an opportunity (part-time) to work as the video editor at Gaurav Sen youtube channel and that's when I made my first income. It was a very small amount of 1500 rs but the happiness it brought was amazing. And after that, I kept on freelancing and earned more than a lakh rupees over the period of 5-6 months by working just 7-8 hours per week. To be Continued... #collegelife #iit #storytelling #college
