GPT-3 is a state-of-the-art language processing artificial intelligence system developed by OpenAI. It is one of the largest and most powerful language models ever created, with a capacity of 175 billion parameters.

GPT-3 has the ability to generate human-like text and perform a wide range of natural language processing tasks, such as translation, summarization, question answering, and text generation. It can also be fine-tuned for specific tasks and domains, making it a powerful tool for businesses and organizations looking to improve their natural language processing capabilities.

Officially now I operate three revenue-making AI SaaS apps: Questgen .ai, Supermeme .ai & Supertranslate .ai GPT-3, CLIP, Whisper, mT0 & semantic search (SBERT) are in production across my apps! Not bad! I have placed some of the biggest advancements in AI in the hands of general consumers :) #artificialintelligence #ai #saas #startup

Pretty surprising that ~2 years after OpenAI published GPT-3 and ~1 year after it opened the API up to everyone, there's no real competitor to the davinci tier.

honestly GPT-3 is one of the most transformational technologies i’ve ever seen this is Google-tier, iPhone-tier, Internet-tier magic

i feel like people are very easily impressed that gpt-3 knows how to get stock prices, when american presidents were born, and other things that have been documented online five million times

Chinchilla was able to achieve better results than GPT-3 with fewer parameters simply by training for longer, this is known as "sigmoid grindset"

I’m done with ChatGPT for a while. It’s sucked the joy out of prompt writing for me. Default writing quality is easy to achieve but hard to improve; opaque front-end and high temperature prevent the sort of casual analysis and experimentation that made fall in love with GPT-3.

I wonder if there’s a reverse uncanny valley effect - a “canny mountain” - when we judge text generated by an AI like GPT-3 and LaMDA. We delight in reading subtlety and meaning into the output and are more than willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Our visual cortex is naturally suspicious, hence the normal uncanny valley effect in robotics and computer graphics, but language brain seems gullible and generous. This could end badly.

AI is amazing! I'm incredibly excited about how easy it's become for average developers like me to build cool things! The challenge: Doing something that stands out. New copywriting tools pop up every day, and simply making a UI on top of GPT-3 or DALL-E is not gonna cut.

When midwestern factory workers watched their jobs disappear they received little sympathy. Just move and learn to code, racist. Now tech workers are getting laid off left and right while their stock options tank and GPT-3 inches closer to taking their jobs. Learn to drill oil?

⚠️ A Blunt Warning ⚠️ AI systems like LamDA and GPT-3 are sociopathic liars* with utter indifference to truth, deepfakers with words, every day creating more compelling, more plausible misinformation on demand. It is imperative that we develop technology & policy to thwart them. ————————————————— *strictly speaking they don’t lie, because they are merely statistical approximators with no regard for truth, but the effect is the same.

AI/ML progress is hard to catch up with! What I have practiced is following leaps, not deltas. Spend time understanding the leaps and build your leverage on them within a monetizable window. For me, in the recent AI advancements it was T5, GPT-3, Stable Diffusion/ Dall-E2, and Whisper. #ai #ml #artificialintelligence

Meta's free, open BlenderBot is remarkably bad compared to GPT-3 or other top-of-the-line language models I've played with. I'm confused about why they released something so much worse than the state of the art.

"Give me 20 minutes to solve your toughest problem, and I'd spend the first 15 making sure I understand it." - Abraham Lincoln 🌳 (Fake quote. But seriously, apply this in your next interview or meeting.) Your turn: make up your own GPT-3-esque version of this quote to make a provocative point you actually believe. Don't disappoint Abe 🎩

There’s almost no moat in generative AI. That means that the differentiator is product, marketing, use case and time to market. It’s basically the GPT-3 gold rush all over again. You can make a life changing amount of money in the next 12 months if you ride the wave.

I'm thinking about writing more about AI and how it will create the next way of massive startups This resurgence due to GPT-3, Stable Diffusion, and others is bringing me back to my days building ML models as a Data Scientist...
