Gotta admit it... 😬 ChatGPT has found itself a permanent tab in my browser next to FeedHive, ClickUp, and GitHub... Is it only me? 😅

@darahasmugguCompanies do still value degrees more than skills. This is an actual incident that happened to me a few days ago. Which made me feel devastated. At Vertocity, we upskill learners in the fields of Data Science, Analytics & Full Stack and help them find opportunities in relevant domains. 40% of learners have a gap on their resume or women willing to restart their career etc. Everyone who falls into this category is considered freshers even though they have a little experience in the non-tech domains. I am always an advocate for "Degrees don't matter, skills do" in most of the scenarios. A recruiter approached us to interview a few of our Data Science learners, and we shared resumes with him. When we shared resumes with the company, they shortlisted learners with a technical education background only and only those who do not have a work gap on their resumes. 🚀 Every company does have its criteria for hiring w.r.t to the candidate's educational background. 🚀 Most companies hiring for tech roles might not encourage freshers from non-tech backgrounds to join their companies. But something that recruiters should also understand. 1️⃣ A person with a BBA degree can write code in python with little training. 2️⃣ A person with a hotel management degree can upskill himself and create dashboards on power-bi 3️⃣ A person with B.Sc does also have a chance to become a data analyst with good training. Instead of directly disqualifying the candidate, recruiters should have a look at the candidates. 🔬 Projects 🔎 Portfolio 🦾 How did he upskill 🧾 GitHub profile / Hacker rank scores etc. Many edtech platforms around the country are working on this problem statement. They can send their students only to startups where skills are valued more than degrees. But, mid-level organizations are still in the same above-said notion. This is a generic perspective from the student world. If your views differ, please do let me know in the comments.

@inmarquesM12 - Microsoft's Venture Fund is partnering with GitHub to invest in the next generation of open-source entrepreneurs. The M12 GitHub Fund will create a committed pool of capital to invest in the future of open-source software, supporting startups developing on GitHub’s platform. Born out of Microsoft and GitHub’s shared belief that developers are the heartbeat of enterprise progress and innovation, the invested startups will be at the earliest stages of development, and the fund will focus on making investments at the seed stage. If you're an open-source startup interested in exploring synergies, please reach out to Priyanka Mitra to learn more. #githubuniverse #opensourcesoftware #m12 #microsoftforstartups #foundershub
Just upgraded my main PC to a Ryzen 9 5950X setup and can now build the Ladybird browser in ~2 minutes! 🐞🚀 Super grateful to all the people supporting me on GitHub and Patreon for making this upgrade possible, thank you so much! 🤓🙏❤️

@miguelgfierroBelieving AI is extremely difficult is what stops most people from learning it. This is a limiting belief, a lie that we create in our minds. Instead, try this: - Run one of the notebooks in Recommenders repo. - Execute the basic pretrained examples in Huggingface Transformers. - Create a codebase of small utility functions. You'll start building your confidence and your GitHub portfolio. Start today! Vamos!!!🦾🦾🦾 ____ #ai #machinelearning #datascience

@ashtomIn recent months, the rise of generative AI models has triggered widespread recognition that the age of AI has begun. But until now, generative AI has largely benefited the individual. That’s changing today, as we widely release GitHub Copilot for Business to every team, organization and enterprise. 🤖 Already, Copilot is helping developers write code 55% faster, with developers reporting feeling 75% more fulfilled (aka happier!). Imagine the benefits of putting GitHub Copilot in the hands of 100-, 1,000-, or even 10,000-person development teams. For an organization, developers fixing bugs faster means your product and supply chain is more secure. Developers manually writing less boilerplate over and over again means your teams are more productive and focused. Developers being able to learn and onboard new technologies means they can deliver better solutions for your customers. Ultimately, Copilot for Business gives developers the ability to build for tomorrow instead of spending all their time bogged down with the problems of today. Empowering developers with the power of AI is how every organization can win the future. There is so much more to come from us on this front soon. 🚀 Read more in the official blog below.

@yonishohetHave you noticed how recently Microsoft Teams and Zoom started to promote connecting third-party apps during calls? Great article about this by my partner Shlomi Matichin! SaaS applications are now complex platforms that make it easy for employees to adopt collaboration and automation capabilities, onboard new third-party vendors via OAuth and marketplaces, and more. These SaaS platforms encourage users to adopt these capabilities with little to no security review which expands the SaaS risk surface. Since you can't (and don't want to) deny employees from accessing these modern SaaS functionalities, and to avoid becoming the victim of the next SaaS breach like the recent GitHub OAuth attack campaigns, organizations must work together with business users to collaboratively secure SaaS adoption. Read more about it in the article below 👇 #collaboration #saassecurity #oauth

@iamgauravpathakAre you planning to contact the recruiter to apply for an open job posting? 🤔 👉Three main things to know and practice. 1. Understand what is actually a job application email: Simply put, job application email is another form of sharing your cover letter but in an email format. The objective of this email is to make your case for the job opening by highlighting your fitment. You do that by talking about your relevant experiences, your skill sets and your abilities to bring value to the team. 2. The components of your job application email: ❇️Context – why are you writing the email and your overall intent behind it ❇️What – what role exactly are you applying in terms of this job application ❇️Why – why do you think you fit the job open position and your interest towards it ❇️How – how you can bring value to the organization ❇️Closing – Ask if they need additional detail and provide your most effective contact details 3. The step-by-step process of writing an effective job application email 📍Step 1: Write a crisp and very clear opening ✅ Ensure about a clear subject line and an effectively formal salutation (addressing the email recipient with a greeting) 📍Step 2: Write the Main body of the email ✅Provide context and background explaining why are you reaching out ✅Share the “What” & “Why” to make the recipient understand specifically in what role you are interested and why do you think you fit the bill ✅Summarize with the “How” explaining the values you can bring to the organization 📍Step 3: Closing of your email ✅ Appreciate the opportunity and thank the recruitment or hiring team, highlighting the recipient of the email ✅ Use an effective and polite closing terms before your signature (“Sincerely”, “Warm Regards”, “Best”) ✅ Use the most effective and reachable contact details under your Signature o Your Full formal name (you can include how you are professionally called) o Your phone number & Email address o Reference links (such as Linkedin, github, etc…) All the best 👍 #job #students #interview #careeradvice #contentcreation #youngprofessional #career #interview #students #contentcreation #youngprofessionals #needjob #linkedin #job #resume #recruiter #email #career #interviewtips #interview #selfhelp #students #earlyphase #youngprofessionals

so funny to hear security researchers talking about offensive capabilities vs AI researchers. AI folks are like “oh no we mustn’t” and security people are like ya i just uploaded the autohacker 5000 to GitHub
