The ONE thing that hasn't changed for Google advertisers the last 2+ decades? 🤔 The importance of keyword research. 🔎 Keyword research is still the foundation of any successful paid search campaign, and the reason it works so well to this day is that it accomplishes two very important things: 1. It provides you with a list of searches that are relevant in the context of your business, the projected monthly search volume of those searches, and the estimated cost of buying that search traffic via Google Ads. This information can be used to determine which keywords to target, how much to budget, how to structure your ad groups, and more. 2. It identifies gaps in your content strategy (website, video, social media, podcast, etc.). By referencing what your target customers are actually searching for, you can begin to build content that corresponds to their exact wants and needs. 🏗️ This is a big reason why SEOs and content marketers are just as bullish on KW research as PPCers! 📈 Despite these benefits, we still encounter ad accounts that were seemingly set-up without referencing any keyword data whatsoever. 😞 That said, here are the requirements of effective PPC keyword research: ✅ A reliable data source. We recommend Google's Keyword Planner (it's free!), but there are a ton of freemium tools (Semrush, Ahrefs, SpyFu, Moz) out there that you can use too. ✅ The right metrics. More specifically: average monthly search volume and estimated CPC. ✅ The right assumptions. If you want to forecast how many clicks or conversions a given keyword will yield, you should use your own historical data or industry benchmarks to calculate those numbers. Don't make up your estimated CTR or CVR on a whim. ✅ Meaningful segmentations and aggregations of the data. For example, we like splitting and summing up the keyword data by level of intent so that we can educate our clients on which keywords should be prioritized and how the keywords should be measured. ✅ An executive summary. Once all the numbers are crunched, a list of actionable insights and recommendations should emerge from the data. Interested in learning more about how our team does keyword research?     Today is my first work anniversary at Semrush 🎉 A year ago, I made a decision to start a new journey, eager to learn and take on new challenges. I still remember my first days as if it was yesterday! Looking back on the past year, I can say that it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The challenges I faced then and the ones still ahead are huge, but I bet fun here is guaranteed 😀. I also feel very fortunate to work with such a fantastic TA team. I'm also super happy to work with the Marketing division 💜 . I really love working with all of you. I have grown both as a recruiter and as a leader. I have onboarded new teammates like Alina Wynns, Natalia Shmareva, Anna Ushenina and taught them how to find and attract great talents (hope you ladies think the same way I do 😁).  l've learned new ways of working, new specialties, and understood how creative I could be, all while meeting amazing people.             "ChatGPT is going to revolutionize content marketing" Maybe. But what happens when every content marketing team in your space feeds similar prompts into the same generative tool? Probably the same thing that happened when Ahrefs or Semrush democratized keyword research at a larger scale: an influx of copycat content written to game an algorithm. If and when that happens, we can safely assume Google will intervene to improve the content quality it serves searchers. It's in their best interest. One algorithm update and your AI-generated content library is toast. That's why IMO relying on generative AI tools (or any tool for that matter) for topic ideation or content creation is a losing strategy. Don't get distracted by shiny objects and focus on the fundamentals: using customer insights to create high-quality content that helps, educates, or entertains them. ✌️ #contentmarketing

She trained under Aleyda Solís for three months during the first cohort of the Tech SEO training. Prachi has taken the Blue Array Tech SEO Course Blue Array SEO manager certification Semrush Tech SEO course 7 out of 8 students from her cohort who did internships were either retained by their organizations or have found work elsewhere. We're looking for a UK organization or SEO agency to offer Prachi a remote internship paid at 1,000 GBP per month for three months. Preferably an internship that begins in January.
